There can never be too many characters. However, that said..
The "problem" is that they're adding new characters before developing their old ones. What happens is, none of the characters really grow on anyone or become interesting or.. well no one really cares about them basically.

What they need to do is develop what they have, then go ahead and add in whomever they want.. Though, quite honestly.. Sonic is dead to me now, I haven't really enjoyed a Sonic game in many years. (Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were passable as games, but not what I was at all hoping for. And Heroes was just crap.)

There were just too many annoying things thrown in, I couldn't enjoy it.

Bug is a misused word, and often just misunderstandings.
Don't feel bad, you've done an excellent job here. More than excellent in fact, this is beyond what I'd ever expect from a hack, you should feel proud of your work.

This is true. My interest in emulation used to be very, very high.. As was hacking games. But now, it's declined considerably to the point where I just hardly care at all. And I imagine a majority of us feel the very same way.

Perhaps we're all just getting older and finding new more lasting hobbies, perhaps some of us just lack the time. I don't know, but it passed it's prime sometime ago; and it's coming to an end for our generation.. And unfrotunately the current generation aren't too avidly interested in Emulation, and are occupied by the newer consoles and games. (I am not saying they can't enjoy emulation and ROM hacking, but rather.. Will they come looking? Will they care to reflect back on the older games when there is so much new? The appeal, the draw there is far less than it was for us.) So I don't see things ever becoming as great as they once were before..

Dying out completely though.. I don't think so. It will probably yes, but not just yet.. Theres time and life left, and there can always be that niche community of dedicated hackers. (Even if they don't do a lot.)

I believe Zelda OoT was translated into another language, but I can think of no other examples, so it's probably safe to say that it is the only one. I really wouldn't expect anymore anytime soon either.

This isn't a device you'd have on constantly, but something to drive away any kids who are outside your store driving away\scaring away your paying customers. Just a flip of the switch kinda thing to push em away, and then turn off when they're gone.

Sure, it's an odd and questionable device, but if used properly.. I see nothing wrong with it. It certainly would be bad to leave that on "constantly" though, yes.

Just leave it! Honestly, teenagers aren't THAT BAD. At least not anywhere I can think of. It's just not worth it.

There are bad kids though, who smoke, drink, cuss.. All that in front of stores, or in store parking lots. It's bad for buisness when those kids just hang around there.. And asking them to leave, more often than not does not work..

I agree though, not ALL teens are like this, and that's why I wouldn't like to see this device as being used constantly. (Just a flip of the switch thing.) But anything can be abused really, it's all a matter of the person who uses it.

I don't see why this is even a discussion honestly.. It is at the bottom of the page, it is not obstructive in any way, it is not causing you any harm.. You are not being asked to click them, you do not need to click them for them to take effect..

What is the problem?
This is an easy and painless way to help pay for the boards server, I can't see why anyone would care..

"I'd rather work than do something crazy for $1,000" is a pretty stupid excuse. No one says you have to quit your day job here, the poll is about whether you'd do any of these things (or anything else) for $1k if you knew you'd get the money for doing it.

Me? I'd do something embarassing probably. No way I'm risking my life or doing anything gross for such a small amount of money. But embarassing? Sure! That would be harmless and I'd be $1k richer and still be making money at my day job.. Don't see a problem there..

I've seen the link previously.. I believe it used to say that ZSNES was bundled in with it. (And of course, this was without permission..) Either they changed it, or I am thinking of another remarkebly similiar site.

Regardless, very illegal indeed.

It wasn't bad, just not very gripping.. And the supposedly nice graphics don't really appeal to me either, they look too.. plastic. So meh, it really isn't something I felt like finishing.

Wrong? So far they look very nice. And old? As opposed to all the unoriginal things that have been used in SMW so far? I think you're being far too harsh, this is both original and good looking. Some obvious effort is being placed here, original sprite graphics don't pop up here often enough..

If you want to talk about things looking wrong and getting old, look at all the rips people are using in their dull and lifeless hacks. (Which is in a huge abundance.)

Supposed to, perhaps not. But it is a parody kinda thing, alternate universe, whatever. It's a hack man, can do whatever you want. And I think the idea of a plant-humanoid girl baddie is just fine, what is the problem with it? It's cute, and it is different.

He quoted him, that's not plagiarism. No need to make a big deal out of this...

I think it is more the point that Stealth seems adamant on not being criticised here for this proof of concept work, and that publicity (without permission) could actually lead to just that very quickly.. (The dim-witted will say what they want, regardless of his simple request.)

This all just seemed to be something to prove a point, but I wasn't involved so I could not really say how he felt beyond that. Yes though, plagiarism was the wrong word here, but permission still would be best in this instance. (I will assume he has it, since he said he participated in the project, but for clarity sake I felt the need to make this post.)

Because it really makes a rather large difference in the way events shall play out.

Fairly positive that only Xkeeper has that power of all the active admins right now.. Well, ||bass perhaps, but I am pretty sure he doesn't care either.

I'm actually hard-pressed thinking of a ROM hacking tool with a decent UI (Temporal Flux has a good UI, can't think of many more)

Lunar Magic? That definately has a friendly UI, and probably stands as one of the most advanced editors to date. Though I agree about Temporal Flux, that editor is equally as friendly and just as amazing.

I knew someone would bring up Lunar Magic. It's not as bad as some of the editors I've seen, but it's still not great. It's definitely not friendly though.

It isn't? How do you explain the extremely large influx of newbie hacks and userbase for SMW then? The editor is very friendly, so friendly that any idiot can pick it up and use it and make something alf-assed out of it. Of course, similiar logic can be applied to any editor, but to call it unfriendly would be to imply that they couldn't jump into it like this, and obviously they can.

As for the UI, I really haven't seen any other editor look so finely polished as LM does. Granted, there may have been different ways to go about it, and it might not please everyone how it is setup, but it is quite aesthetically well designed and easy enough to get around.

I don't usually post here, I am more the lurker, but I felt the need to for this thread.. You see, as I recall, X5 was in fact intended to be the last of the X series. Truth be told, that was how it was written and intended, but.. Capcom was not willing to let the series die, and despite the original authors wishes, they continued the series by placing someone else in the drivers seat in his place..

I don't have a source, as it was quite some time ago that I read it and I'm too lazy to dig it up, but I'm pretty positive this is accurate.. This is also why the series went downhill so steadily fast after X5 - it was never meant to go beyond there, and with them obviously milking it and the original genius behind the X series no longer in power, there is of course only going to be more crap spewing forth.

I actually never finished X5, and did not bother with any other X game there after, I was not willing to sit through the series any longer, I predicted bad things and.. it seems I was very right. I may pick up X5 again one day, and perhaps even X6.. But nothing else from then on seems interesting to me.
