Exactly.

From 0x0 to 0x1FF is 0x200 different values.
From 0 to 511 is 512 different values.

These two sentences are identical in every way but radix.

Setzo, if I were to load MSPaint, I'd get something close to 1-bit. Pressure or no pressure. It's quite like pencilling, but not on paper. And you get an undo button.
