| Pretty sweet. Makes me wish I was good enough to implement these kinds of things in my hacks.
What if there were a powerup that allowed Luigi to conjure objects out of thin air? Maybe it'd be random whether he gets a red shell, green shell, blue block, or what-have-you. That'd be cool. |

| You don't need the Endless Vibe or Dashbrella at all. If you already have the more difficult to obtain items you probably don't need to be collecting coins, anyway. I myself preferred the Goomba waterfall in wavy beach; the series of pipes where goombas keep falling onto a long blue Poundbrella breakable platform.. Got thousands of coins with only the coin smash powerup. It sure would have been nice if I had something to do with them, now... | |||

| Anybody know how to stop Mario's lives counter from reading 1 when you have 0 lives, 2 when you have 1 life, etc.? I tried messing with it and then the game started sending the tiles to the wrong places.
Edit: Nvm, I found it... (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 04-01-06 04:18 AM) |

| You could have a level repointer item. Use it and enter a level and it'll send you to one of a couple totally different levels, going back to normal when you're done. You'd have to make it not work on boss levels.
Or a magnetic shield of sorts that turns fireballs and boomerangs that hit you into your fireballs and boomerangs and reflect back. |

| ...forget LM. Just compare a hex edited plain SMW rom with a regular one and it should work. It's how I did all my artifacts. (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 03-27-06 09:29 PM) (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 03-27-06 09:31 PM) |

Originally posted by iamstillhiro1112 Indeed. The sprites (other than these) are totally different, the gameplay is totally different, there are no characters who appear in both games, the engine wouldn't appear to be any more similar than, say, Seiken Densetsu is to Super Mario Allstars, and the game isn't even in the same genre. Are you sure this is an unadulterated rom? I'll check my english or us rom to see if I can dig anything up. It is possible that extremely early versions of this rom were based on Super Mario All-stars or a development version, but it seems quite odd for a thing like that to happen. The original Ninja Warriors was a coin-op apparently ported to some systems but not to the NES. NWA was only ever in development for the SNES. Someguy's theory holds no weight. |

| Mario and Luigi: Partners in time seems terrible to you yet Super Princess Peach is fun. Allow me to read that again. Hm. Yes, I read that right.
You two have destroyed the last piece of hope for the world I had. The one thing the existance of Bush as president, the emmy awarded to the show Medium, the chokehold of Windows computers on the market, and the uneffectiveness of schools in America today could not extinguish, has been mercilessly beaten to death. Nice job. And the very idea that the very Square-enix feeling Super Mario RPG had more Mario feeling than the cartoonish Partners in Time is... is... There are no words for this thread. There are no words. |

| Good RAM address places? No, not really. There are a number of places where you can drag up information, but all are either new and lacking addresses or designed for ROM addresses but expanded or are inoperable like in the archived board areas or the old somnolence memory map.
You might want to try the old, old board archive thread, although most of its contents (if not all) have been added to the somnolence memmap which I have since learned is not the best reference at all. I'm probably the one you saw saying that. As for recompiling the entire rom, I doubt that'd be a very good idea. You should compile tiny sections of code and copy and paste the results via a hex editor into your rom. But since I do all my opcode manipulation in hex, I don't know much about this. | Change 114C to EA to make Mario's lives read the lives address correctly instead if adding one to it. This address sounds familiar so I'm pretty sure it's already been found, but I can't remember where.
Edit: ...anybody know how to change the Bob-omb's explosion's graphic page? (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 04-01-06 10:10 AM) |

| I have decided Super Mario World is unsalvegable and that I should just toss out my working roms. But since I'm such a nice guy, I'll give Mario and Luigi a couple minutes to run around in my hack before I wipe them off the face of the earth.
Super Mario World now has bizarre status bar hacks, special attacks, star points, and those Paper Mario style Spike Tops I so adore. Will Mario and company overcome these obstacles and save the day? Not bloody likely.
As you can see, this hack is in early stages but I feel confident it will be finished by this time next year. |

But wait! There's more! Two of the most powerful weapons in the world have combined to form a single entity...
It's the Bulletskate! Look upon it, ye mighty, and despair! (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 04-01-06 08:02 AM) |

| This isn't Doctor Who. Comics wherein Kyouji is bored have shown us that both Kyouji and Alastor can exist in the same room at the same time. And as for the touching part... Ailure, you're sick. | |||

Oh ho, I've got some skeptics, have I? Well, I have some undeniable proof of special attacks.
This is Mario. See how he has attack points to spare? He is able to spin jump.
This too is Mario. See how he does not have 10 attack points? He is not able to spin jump. QED. If you increase the Yspeed of a Bullet Bill at x91DF and x91F0 and in Mario World Reconfigurer set the interaction with Layer 1 and 2 byte you too can have your very own Bulletskate. This isn't like that other instruction you got today that corrupts your rom, no sir. |

| There are three simple ways, off the top of my head, to do this. The first is to quit obsessing over what people think of you and post whatever. The second is to post a nonsensical angry response totally unlike previous, rational responses. Everybody with half a brain should figure out what you're not serious. Smallhacker did this in his topic. The third is to come up with more lies to support the original lie, like in DD's topic. Lots of people came in with more nonsense and managed to keep their dignity while doing it. | |||

| Thanks. Now my bulletskates ram themselves into the wall indefinately. It's pretty cool looking.
Anyway, guys, the punchline to this April Fools joke is that it's a real hack. Spin currently does require a certain number of attack points to use. The attack meter really does read MAX once it's full. There really are spike tops on clocks wandering around. |

| LevelASM is not the right tool for the job. The whole point of LevelASM is so you have an easy way to run code every frame in a specific level. If that's not what you're aiming for, you shouldn't be using it.
At x213B8 there should be a snippet of code that is focused on initializing variables. If you put your own jump statement in to relocate this code somewhere where you have more room, you can put whatever you want there and it will only run once and only at the very beginning of the level. If you wanted it to run only in a certain level, you'd have to put in your own compare and branch statements so it doesn't initialize the variable in every level. But, if most levels don't use that spot in RAM at all, you might not even need a branch statement. (edited by Glyph Phoenix on 04-03-06 06:21 AM) |
