Oh, I see. You could put them in every level, but that would probably make it seem... less worked on, somehow, don't know why
Well, if someone can find out/ knows how to give them seperate starting points, you should go for that idea. About the Acmlm Adventure, you should use some of the admins for bosses, some of the users for enemies, and go in forum order. I'd love to see the Pit of Despair ![]() |

| Ok, not really. But I do need some help. I've searched and haven't found anything. Can somebody check these answers for me, and maybe help with the unanswered ones? It's for my computer class, and I need to finish it and send it via e-mail by 12:00 AM tomorrow. I need someone to check my answers and help me with the rest. Can somebody help?
Edit: Crap. Let me get the actual work page thing. Edit 2: Ok. Here: Questions KarbosGuide Chapter 1 1. What is a mainframe? Mainframes and super computers are the biggest computers – million dollar machines, as big as a refrigerator or bigger. 2. What is a Workstation? Workstations are very powerful user machines. They have the capacity to execute technical/scientific programs and calculations, and typically use a UNIX variant or Windows NT as their operating system. 3. What are Bits and Bytes? Bits and Bytes are data represented the form of numbers. Bits are a single hardware state,1 or 0.There are 8-bits to a byte, are most commonly represented in hexadecimal (0-F), but can be also be represented using any other numbering system. 4. What does the author mean by standardized and open architecture? Open architecture is a type of computer architecture that allows users to upgrade their hardware in all of the computer hardware & components. This is the opposite of a closed architecture, where the hardware manufacturer chooses the components, and they are not generally upgradable. 5. What is a Clone? A clone is a copycat computer that can do anything the original can do, and some hard drive parts are identical, but these computers are sold with a different or no name. 6. Why is larger Bit width better? Because it allows a computer to process larger numbers in a single operation. 7. Who are Pascal, Boole, Babbage, and Atanasoff and what did they do? Pascal created a calculating machine at the age of 18, and his theories have affected a lot of scientific research. Boole founded a mathematics school and began to develop symbolic logic. Babbage began developing a number of claculating machines and created a steam-powered analytical machine. Atanasoff created the first digital computer called the Atanasoff-Berry Computer with his partner Clifford Berry. (Oh wow, no idea where the name came from =P ) 8. What is the difference between analog and digital? Analog on a phone or TV or anything that requires a signal, transfers the raw signal and degrades over distance, meaning lower phone sound quality, or in a TV, a lower picture quality, and usually needing usage of an antenna. While digital, on the other hand, converts that signal into data, and then decodes it once it reaches the receiving end. 9. What was the “ENIGMA”? The ENIGMA was a portable cipher machine used to encrypt and decrypt secret messages. It was a rotor-based machine that was used in World War II and Nazi Germany. School computers block Wikipedia. I don't know why, as there's nothing wrong with it And why did the homework thread die out? Well, seeing the number of homework threads/ posts/ questions.... Anyways, I found the ENIGMA information. Thanks Skreename ![]() |

Ok, I've finished. Now I just need to know if these answers are OK. (edited by Sparx on 09-11-06 08:44 PM) |

| It's really helped so far. But you know what would be ironic? If an idiot posts an idiot LM question in HERE. Now that would mean it's failing. | |||

| Yeah, I've been losing weight, but it's weird. During the summer, I put on weight, then I feel like I do on the weekends, but during school, people seem to tell me I've been losing weight and that I've lost a lot of weight, and I don't get it. Maybe it has to do with my eating patterns... Come school, I only eat about 1 and 1/2 meals a day + 1 or 2 snacks, but I'm nothing like that in the summer or weekends. It just seems weird to me... | |||

| The past posts of the user get checked, right? What if they just registered, then post a good request (another post but paraphrased) and know nothing about LM, or hacking whatsoever and are just posting pointless threads about how to hack? That seems like a temporary way around it... Until the mods/ admins get here. | |||

| Those all look great except for the piranha plant looks weird, and the bob-omb has too thick an outline. Otherwise, they look just fine. | |||

4, I really don't know why, but I've always liked it for some reason. |

| My mom just bought me an MP3 player from her friend for $20, with no songs. didn't come with headphones, but I have my own. Nor did it come with a USB cord, so I can't even put my songs on it. It's sitting there dormant now. She got it a few minutes ago. My old MP3 player is busted, no batteries either, or cord. CD's can only hold so much time and memory worth of songs, and I like my music. Besides, the only batteries we have for my CD player last about 20-30 minutes, so the only place I have is right here at the computer, but I can't shove that in my pocket and carry it around wherever I go to listen to my favorite songs. Basically I get extremely bored/ moody if I don't listen to my music, it defines me. It basically sucks a lot right now. | |||

| At first I just thought half of the stickies got reset O_o
It's a great idea, it decreases the the size of the page. It makes it so that it's easier to spot the last page, rather than get lost in the different page numbers. |

| That's what I was planning on doing, but my mom says "No, I'll buy one for you tomorrow." First of all, I highly doubt she actually will, and second of all, I can't last that long without music. And I'd use my friends old one, but he can't find it. I'm still looking... but it just sucks without my music. |
