Hrm... I like the first picture because it seems to have the most focus and attention to detail. I think you should spend some time working on how you draw anime women though. The curves seem a little off, as well as the postures of the body.

So what you're basically saying is you have no regard for basic human dignity. What if we tortured them in the prisons, away from the public eye? Surely you can explain to us how it being public would make it anymore effective. That was what I was really getting at, by the way. In addition, by making it public, you will create a subculture of sick(er) fucks who can actually get entertainment out of seeing people tortured for free. Let's just cut to the chase and introduce bloodsports.

Originally posted by Clockworkz Well as for the sketch drawings, I feel that they are just too generalized to evoke much of a feeling. It might look cool to draw a bald nude man in various poses but there is just not enough detail (or smoothness should I say) to get a clear indication of what those feelings are. And if you can tell what the feelings are you have no idea why they are there. Does that make sense? |

HyperHacker: So what you're saying is that Moonshell always reads data off the disk directly? Wouldn't it make sense to you know... cache the data in RAM? Moonshell skips for me on SPC playback too. Is it really too much trouble to put 64K of data into 4MB of RAM? I would think the slowdown would be in the implementation, b/c I think the processors should be more than capable of offloading the data quickly enough for playback.
I've also played plenty of DS games on my G6 (flashcart) and have yet to experience slowdown. I'll give you a list of SPCs that slow down for me and you can see for yourself if you experience the same problem. |

lol... isn't it a closed technology on iPods for getting the battery out? I've heard only "licensed" people have the right tools to service them.

I think the two character system is terribly versatile for what they give you to deal with. An odd puzzle here or there and you have to use two characters. Two characters on the screen at the same time is also useful if you're grinding trying to get more items, spells and abilities while using Luck UP, etc. But I don't particularly want to have that second character out during boss battles b/c the AI is just... well, dumb. I also noticed that the enemy AI in this game doesn't seem to be very sharp. e.g. the fake clones at the bottom of the Nest of Evil have lots of HP but are extremely easy. I had a harder time with the Golden Skeleton room.

Ok, let's just say for a minute that you are right. What about the dehumanizing aspect of not only having to hire people to do the torture, but also trying to get people to watch it. Obviously some people would already go watch it but I don't think much of anyone like that.

setz: I laughed at your earlier comments, and then I laughed doubly hard when I looked at your layout (let's play hangman!). So yeah, while tragic it also is kind of funny.
However, if this story is true as it is presented, I don't know how you can hold the parents responsible. Are parents supposed to watch their kids at every goddamn moment of their lives? That's just plain impossible. Though, there's probably a lot more to this story than meets the eye. |

Heh...
I bet against Notre Dame and still lost, b/c I thought it would be 2 touchdowns or less. When I left to go watch it I thought it was 6 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Did LSU manage to score in 6 seconds? Gah. Terrible matchup, Notre Dame should not be in the BSC bowls if it wants to win a bowl game. |

Originally posted by SamuraiX There really is no way to prove that it was a failing on the parent's part given the information we have. Now if details start appearing where the kids started bringing rope into the room and jabbering on about Saddam Hussein and hanging and such - all in front of the parents and in spite of some basic supervision, then I think you begin to have a case for that side. But some things are just freak accidents. You're also making the assumption that a parent can mold a child to be anything they want them to be. That's obviously not fucking true. Learning needs one willing participant - but teaching needs two willing participants. If a child does not want to learn then obviously it is their problem. Kids may be immature, ignorant, and foolhardy but that doesn't remove all culpability. Some things you have to learn for yourselves. Take Alice for example... he seems to think that parents give kids "The Death Talk" or something about HOW YOU CAN DIE BELIEVE IT OR NOT. A kid who can't pick up on that by the age of 9 is well... mentally retarded or doesn't exist. (edited by MathOnNapkins on 01-04-07 01:59 AM) |

So it never occurred to you that someone could be wrongly convicted, or even convicted for a victimless crime like marijuana possession?
And let me get this straight - you wouldn't like to watch someone get tortured but you think it would be a good idea for other people to... what the fuck is wrong with you? |

.... I just started a Hard Mode level-1-cap run yesterday. I must have died twenty times so far on Dullahan. Godamn do I hate that boss. Anybody else tried this out? Everything but his body is a one hit kill, even with maximum armor obtainable at that point. I did 600 damage to him, so he must have more HP in hard mode. frustrating as hell. |
