Same dealie though.

(I'm out of imagination today.)

I stopped reading Shyguy's first post at this point . Maybe that's why I didn't catch on.

I used to mess with my little brother all the time, but then I got sort of tired of it and I'm not a huge fighter anymore. We used to get pretty physical, and I've hurt him on occasion, but nothing too that I've regretted . Though we did manage to bite each other severely around the time of second grade. I always left my sister alone, given she's 1. a girl 2. five years my younger. 3. she's not annoying like he is.

A feature I've wanted for a while now is what you might call multi find. It goes as follows:

User inputs search string 1, 2, ... , X (searching for X strings)
User inputs Proximity: Y (find where these X strings are all no more than Y overall distance apart)

What is that useful for? Identifying pieces of code where two or more variables may be interacting. Like if you've got the variable $7E0400, $7E0500, $7E0600 and you suspect that they may be related some how, you could run a search and see if they show up, say, within $100 bytes of each other. I know I also would have found it useful in SPC hacking, but I can't remember why at the moment... sorry.

Or you could just give him an answer and let him see if it has any flaws/improvements to be made. Seriously, crap like what he's going through is why I quit trying to make a hex editor about 2 years ago. I just didn't want to deal with it. Well... that and I was trying to make one from scratch in Delphi and didn't know shit about Turbo Pascal or its OOP framework.

Either way, I don't know about memory mapped file i/o. I remember looking into it a few times for various projects, and it seemed like if you altered the memory mapped file it would cause instant (i.e. irreversible if you don't keep track) changes to the file on disk. If I'm wrong about that somebody correct me please.

Posting this for bbit:

[18:47] bbitmaster: http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=1295 <- funny... that's covered in the readme
[18:48] MathOnNapkins: want me to tell him?
[18:48] bbitmaster: 3. If the game has Save-RAM (e.g. Zelda), you will need to capture the game's Save-RAM initialization routines;
[18:48] bbitmaster: you can try to do so by deleting the game's *.sav file and then perform a soft and hard reset (F10, F11) again while logging.
[18:48] MathOnNapkins: or are you registered there
[18:49] bbitmaster: if you want... I'm not registered at acmlm

Have fun.

What makes more sense: getting scientific lectures from someone in a real scientific field like geology, or getting scientific lectures from a preacher in Alabama who says stuff like "well that can't be true because of [insert denying claim about physics]"?

I've watched creationist videos online before, in particular, one Nebetsu posted a link to. I'll say that the lecturers are persuasive, however, if I use common sense who do I trust? I don't let the people at Burger King do my taxes, now do I?

To get the project back on the road to completion there are a few things I personally need to do:

-Expand the number of dungeon rooms to 320 (from 296)
-Expand overworld area data so that we can "unweave" duplicate data.
-Expand dungeon header data but at the same time have a tool to edit it at the new locations

So I apologize if you were expecting a christmas release. But believe me I work on Zelda hacking almost daily, and am coding a new Zelda 3 editor just so we can do the above types of modifications. Hyrule magic uses fixed pointers for loading data, so it's kind of hard to expand your data structures and move them to other regions, b/c it means you won't be able to edit them in HM anymore.

Other project goals include:

-Upgrading the graphics routines to just load uncompressed graphics from the get go, while upgrading the 3bpp dungeon and overworld graphics to the native 4bpp mode. Having expanded roms gives us that luxury. My only worry is how I'm going to make sure to have the proper palettes loaded.

-Finishing the game's script.

-Various other ASM hacks.

The editing will probably be somewhat similar. However, I've thought about a few things to make the drag and drop stop easier for the user. For instance, Let's say you have a large object and a chest object on the same layer. You want to click on the chest, but the other object has higher click priority. So to get to the chest object you have to use the directional keys to access it.

So with that in mind, I probably won't lump all the objects together. It'd be easier for the user to have something like "edit chests", or "edit staircases", or "edit doors" than a catchall dialog and interface designed for all objects simultaneously.

I also plan to make map32 editing of the overworld more like map16 editing, and auto generate the proper 32 x 32 blocks internally, deallocating ones that aren't used in any map, etc.

If you have any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them.

I found this in on of the google ads at the bottom of the board. This is their legal disclaimer:

If you check out the site it's

1) hilarious that anyone would pay for what they can easily get for free
2) doubtful it's anything close to legal
3) I'm betting they just picked out the titles that aren't currently protected, like Cheryroms, and thus most of the screenshots there probably aren't even downloadable (i.e. Nintendo produced games)

I just got this game yesterday... and also got an Action Replay to level Rydia up to 99. Yay for having Firaga when she's still scared of Fire. (Shouldn't I be able to kick the crap out of the icewall at Mt. Hobbs?)

Anyway, I'm interested in looking at this game from the perspective of how they ported it from the original. Sound in particular. Makes me wonder what the jump is like from GBA to DS, in terms of taking a Super Nintendo game and porting it directly to DS.

My real question is about Action Replay devices though. For each GBA game the A/R uses, you must have an (M) code, which basically identifies and validates that the game you want to enter codes matches up with what's in the slot.

The code is a 16 byte long hex string. Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if anyone knows how this code is calculated. Like, is it a hash of the game's data, or is a sort of extended checksum. Note I don't even know how typical hash numbers are calculated, so those two may be the same, I'm not really sure.

The bible is the obvious answer b/c it has so many pages who would notice if a few were missing? Looks like we won't find out what happened to zebediah and roshana. Plus it's trendy to be sacriligeous. They also usually have soft paper, almost like tissues.

Other options:
Panties - I don't usually even want to touch "clean" panties, let alone an STD infested one. THEY ARE UNDERWEAR. People don't usually leave their fancy lingerie out. If it was lingerie... well they don't call it ass floss for nothing.

Magazine - Bad idea b/c I don't think glossy paper would be very effective due to a lack of absorbency and it wouldn't really adhere to the offending matter.

Front Page of special newspaper - Newspaper would leave nasty ink stains on me buttocks, and while probably more effective than the magazine, still probably pretty poor choice.

It's funny I was sort of thinking about this the other day. What would you do if you (are a guy) took a huge sloppy dump, then realize there's no toilet paper... then rummage under the sink only to find tampons and maxi pads. How adventurous do you think you'd be in that predicament?

Personally, I find it advisable to carry a spare diaper at all times.

It doesn't really have anything to do with being "grossed out". The point is I think most guys would be hesitant to use tampons/pads for anything at all, due to the fact that they are for females. So it's the macho reaction. I'm sure you're aware of how afraid some men are of the feminine products aisle.

I may be going out on a limb but perhaps your depression is because you keep your emotions bottle up, as you put it? Yelling at someone when you're pissed off actually feels pretty good, I've found out. I used to bottle my anger up too, but now I just don't care anymore.
