Yes to the first part.

As for the second part, I ran a comparison on it without being biased a while ago. And it's a pretty even playing field, from what I saw. Sound is not as easy on the Genesis, and it is not capable of displaying as many colors as an SNES. On the other hand, the SNES' main CPU is half the speed of the Genesis', and even the Genesis' secondary CPU runs faster than the SNES main processor at startup. When the 65816 (SNES) is in its faster mode it runs the same speed as the secondary Genesis processor! The SPC-700 runs at half the speed of the Genesis' secondary Zilog 80 processor.

They have the same amount of VRAM, but the SNES has more audio ram, and more main work ram. So yeah, there are disadvantages and advantages on either side.

"Star-Stealing Girl" from Chrono Cross has a very saddening effect on me. Though, it may be because of what it evokes, i.e. the death of Lucca in the fire and the loneliness the young Kid will have to confront being twice orphaned.

In fact, much of Chrono Cross' music is sad and depressing, hence I don't like to listen to it all the time.

d4s did streaming music data, a feature not found in most SNES games, though it was not mp3. Mp3 is not an option at all considering the processing power it takes is well out of reach for a SNES. Basically what it comes down to is a reduced bit rate but the same essential data. I'm not even quite sure how this would work out. i.e. do emulators support the full features of the Satellaview? Did the Satellaview have stronger processing capabilities that would aid in implementing this? Do you plan on converting this to a standard SNES type image? i.e. I know there are 4 "episodes" so would you play through one episode, keep the save file from it, then rename it to the next episode's file name?

It's hard to advise you without knowing a bit more of the specifics.

You must ask yourself these questions three:

1. Do we care?
2. Do you really care?
3. What is the capital of Assyria?

Also I have to point out that it's "multiples" not "multibles". you've been driving me crazy ever since that first color "splouch" thread. I don't even think splouch is the right word, but I can't think of the word that is correct that sounds similar.

If you know the equations for the two lines the solution is a simple matrix calculation. In general, if you have:

ax + by = c (first line's equation)
dx + ey = f (second line's equation)

Then the point where they would hypothetically intersect would be the solution of the matrix equation:

[[a b]][x] = [c]
[[c d]][y] [f]

i.e. you multiply by the inverse of the matrix A, where A is:

[[a b]]
[[c d]]

and the vector x̄ = [x,y]t (t indicates transpose)

let [c,f]t be represented as ȳ as well.

thus producing A-1Ax̄= x̄= A-1ȳ which would yield your answer. If the matrix is singular (noninvertible) then the lines are parallel, and possibly collinear (the same exact line).

Most programming languages have libraries that allow you to deal with Matrix manipulation, even inversion, though the formula for inverting a 2x2 matrix is simple anyways. You may want to use the library just to make the code readable. The case for 3 dimensional lines and above is more complicated of course, but still pretty easy.

(btw, I didn't fully read your post at first, but slopes are not a problem when using standard form anyways, so I'd suggest you use this format. You can derive the standard form ax + by = c type equation from just an angle and a coordinate, but I won't say how b/c that would spoil the fun of figuring it out )

*sigh*

So did USC make enough of an impression to go to the championship? I honestly thought Notre Dame put up a pretty good fight in spite of the term "beating" that is getting thrown around; and I don't say that in Notre Dame's interest, but rather in USC's. Notre Dame blocked a punt and had two interceptions, scored 3 TDs when they probably should have had more if they had capitalized on defensive plays more. I don't think this will hurt USC b/c one could attribute the breakdown in the Irish's ability to execute to USC itself. USC had the stronger momentum probably 75% of the game. They were able to make big defensive plays and shut down Samardija and McKnight, Brady Quinn's most reliable sources of yardage. So yeah, I think USC will be going to the championship barring an upset with UCLA.

As for the Irish, I hope John Carlson recovers in time for a bowl b/c his presence is sorely missed.

Unless you have some reason to assume that it is sine or cosine of several varied arguments, I'd not worry too much about it. if it was sin wx or cos 3x + 5 then I'd be a little more worried. Common sense says that most equations for practical usage are not going to involve sines and cosines within one another, but yeah I do understand your frustration.

And boo to Blackhole for ruining the fun.

And no, I don't want to hear "because they're Notre Dame" as an answer. I mean, there's gotta be a team or two more deserving of it. It'll be interesting to see if some upsets (say, Rutgers winning this weekend to get in) mix things up like crazy.

Because they're Notre Dame. No, for reals, there's no good reason. Booking ND in your BCS bowl is basically your very own personal money-printing license. Consequently, they'll be overrated (oh yeah, I Went There). Hopefully, this won't screw Boise State out of a good BCS bowl (and stick them in, you know, the shitty BCS bowl). Oh, and since Our Injury gets all the money and doesn't have to share it with the rest of a conference, they make out better than anyone else. The real losers are the fans.

I'd have to totally agree, even being an ND fan. I'd rather ND put more effort into shining in the regular season than get an easy pass into a bowl game. Lately they've been getting killed in bowl games when they manage to get into one. Why? There's a huge gap in talent. We try hard, but damn there's a huge gap in talent. That's Charlie Weis' job to fix. Seeing ND get trounced in bowl games is more embarassing than the regular season.

first0x100.jpg is clearly a Super Nintendo Rom. Which one may I ask?

edit: first guess is Super Mario World. second guess is something Nintendo made itself and early in the SNES' life.

edit2: heheh. Just got home. I was right about it being SMW.

Some general hints:

1. Your signature is HUUUUGE. This makes you look kind of "dumb," for lack of a better word. Signatures should take up no more than about 100 pixels in vertical space. No one wants to have to scroll through your gigantic signature to get down the page.
2. I've noticed you're 12 years old, according to your profile. Maturity and professionalism is expected here regardless of your age. You'll need to use grammar and punctuation skills to be taken seriously here. Your posts are mostly run-on sentences with no capitalization at the beginning and you don't use apostrophes. This kind of writing is very annoying to read for most people. You seem like a decent kid, but I don't see you getting approved until you correct this.
3. If your old thread didn't work out, don't make a new one here. Bump the old one if you have come up with a better explanation of why you should be approved. Those who approve aren't asking for all that much - just some details on where you are currently at in rom-hacking and some details on where you plan to go and what you plan to learn.

I remember seeing this on PBS a month or two ago while I was really tired, early in the morning. It seemed interesting at first but then quickly got really repetitive. Any kid who watches this is going to have no attention span when he/she grows up b/c they'll use it all up watching this show.

The debate centers around the notion that the different sexes respond differently to the same teaching methods. So if you could separate them and teach them using different methodologies perhaps the outcome might be better overall. But there are also people who say that women are physically built to just stay in the kitchen and even if there's truth to it does it justify it? [i.e. would it justify forcing women to work in the kitchen exclusively]

I think some of you are misunderstanding the meaning of "interest" in this context. The meaning here is that if you have a class of all girls who generally respond to teaching method Y, then they will be more interested in that subject. Similarly, a class covering the same content, but taught with teaching method X will keep boys interested in the subject. Has nothing to do with teaching footballology or sewingology.

I suppose you somehow ignored the part where the teachers think the separation seems to make teaching easier and keep their students more focused. Listen to the ACLU, not the teachers... right. I don't see how it's a fundamental right to have class with a person of the opposite sex.

Though I will admit that it is worrying that the boys classroom has no discipline. They need to lay down the law, unless we're both misreading the article. Perhaps they meant there are more interactive displays in the classroom, that the students can walk around to and observe.
