Yes, there are official tools used to create and store the music, so most companies are likely to have their music stored in a similar format. It's not like the SNES where everything would be proprietary. However, if some game programmer for the DS decided to create his own format, there'd be nothing to stop him... but he would have had to reverse engineer the sound system on the DS to get it to work.

If you just feel "okay" after drinking half a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey, the bottle obviously wasn't big enough. p.s. how you feel about alcohol at this time is how I feel about marijuana .

Generally speaking, I think the problem of education is kind of complex here. Many factors other than just the school will affect how a student performs in school. Things such as poverty, crime / gang activity, single parent home, the general attitude of the populace, etc. For many people in poor communities it is not considered worthwhile to even go to school. And in many cases they are right - you could have a decent paying job without college or even a high school diploma. If you like working at a factory that is. When I read interviews of local high school age kids in the newspaper, they say that they plan on earning money by learning how to rap and/or playing basketball. If people think that's how they're going to get out of the ghetto they're delusional. As for funding, I think schools in the US are by far overpaid - even poor ones. The idea that you can throw money at a problem and buy newer computers and newer books to get people educated is half baked. I think it would be better to invest in the quality of instruction and keeping teachers motivated. Or better yet invest and encourage development in poorer areas to make them less susceptible to drug dealing and gang activity. The other option would be to evenly divide all school funding across each county, but I have a feeling that richer areas would just donate even more money to their local schools so that their kids have an edge. The richer the american, the better the education they want for their kids. |

I was at taco bell today and my meal cost $3.91. I give the lady $10 and she's about to give me $6.09 when I hand her a penny. She looks confused and hands me $7. I sat and ate my meal trying to decide whether to give her the dollar back. In the end I did, but I almost wonder whether I should bother caring about gaining $.90 wrongfully. What do you do in this situation, flip a coin? It's unlikely she'd get in trouble for having a drawer off by that little, unless she does it all the time. Would you give it back if it was like... $5 extra? $100? $.01?

No, really quite the opposite. You have no trace of nerd in you if you read the letters AI in capital letters and don't think of "artificial intelligence" >8)

Originally posted by ibz10g It could, it would just be really slow. Later systems had hardware acceleration that was built to handle 3D models. The snes would have had to do it all in software which takes a lot more time and it has a slow cpu to begin with. |

mmmmm....
At first I thought the sentence was metaphorical, like he was saying `is life was like cereal, and that that cereal was soggy. i.e. a metaphor for being sad / depressed. When I realized that he was being literal it was even more amusing. |

Perhaps the system requires that some sort of checksum of the game image is correct in order to run?

Well... I must revise my statement
When faced with the letters AI and it is understood that they are both capital letters, one who has nerd traces will think of Articial Intelligence. In certain people, the perception will be that of a name "AL," which is short for "ALAN." |

From what I've played of Star Fox 2, it seems somewhat similar.
One gripe I have though is that the controls are 99% stylus. It would have been better to shift some of them to d-pad or buttons (depending on your handedness, I'm left handed but the default inverse look controls work well for me anywas). e.g. boost and brake should be separated b/c they are easy to accidentally do with a stylus. having to do a roll while also trying to steer is also obnoxious I think. It comes down to it that I have the same irritations with this as with MP: hunters controls. That said, I still find it pretty playable and will continue to play it as long as the challenge curve stays steady. I always lose via the strategy map and not from loss of all arwings. I think the time limits are somewhat constraining until you figure out that the rings give you time bonuses and other stuff. Nova bombs are nice since you can drop them anywhere, though you have to stop steering in order to do this which can be disastrous. |
