The idea would be to convert the music to a more DS friendly format. As for handling graphics, you can always do it manually, even if it means buffering it somehow and using bitmaps. Running code natively will mean you will have more time to fix the output with some kind of generalized handler. What exactly does the SNES do that the DS is incapable of? The only things I can think of at the moment would be color add/subtract, transparency and windowing... and I'm pretty sure it has windowing and transparency. Perhaps the various BG and pixel priority modes would be hard to deal with.

Yeah that's what I was talking about. Really gave me a headache when I tried to analyze Secret of Mana graphics a few months ago. How some parts of a BG can be on top of a BG it's supposed to be underneath.

Try getting a breath mint (peppermint like the ones at pizza hut). Then brush your teeth and experience the pain of the taste .

Also... orange juice + oreo cookies is really nasty. I found that out at an early age.

I was borderline on wanting to see it... now you're shooing me away from it even more. To put it in perspective, I watched Xmen 3 twice in the past week in theatres and loved it. I couldn't really remember all that went on in the previous movies so yesterday I went out and bought them. Remembering that these were Bryan Singer movies as well... it seemed that there was a stark contrast in character and plot development between his movies and the third movie by Brett Ratner. i.e. the movie seemed drawn out and there really wasn't that much intensity in the film making. So yeah I can see Superman Returns being somewhat like that. Sorry to hijack it into an Xmen thread but there isn't one right now... I should make one.

I'll see this movie probably in the next week. Tell me, how was Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther... b/c that's really the only reason I wanted to see the movie. The only reason.

I wouldn't feel bad about it. Having sex forever changes a relationship and would send signals to your gf that perhaps you're not interested in sending. Girls tend to become way more attached to you after that. Not to mention you've got the possibility of STDs (were you going to wear a condom? ), childbirth, and new emotional and psychological baggage to contend with in a relationship with sex.

I mean yeah... sex is great, but it's not something to be taken lightly like a lot of people want to believe.

Ever considered a safe deposit box? I mean, the people at the bank might give you funny stares but at least Optimus Prime would be safe and sound .

It was a joke. Perhaps I should have said Coprolalia, but who the hell knows what that is by name? The only reason most people think Tourette's syndrome automatically means you swear uncontrollably is the film What About Bob? starring Bill Murray. I watched this movie as a kid. Then in college I tutored a kid who had Tourette's. No swearing.

As for your comments on this thread or your political views, you haven't stated anything at all. All you said was that nobody knows what they're talking about. So are you the only one among us who knows what he's talking about or are you just ranting?

I was under the impression that the lag involved in having many sprites on the screen was related to the amount of code required to handle them (collision detection, movement code, etc). But donut lifts are stationary most of the time and maybe one or two will be moving in position at any given time b/c they only move when Mario is standing on them or when they are falling. Though I agree that making them as tiles that turn into sprites would be way less overhead.

You're newb, not a n00b. I'd only vote if you felt you could make a good judgement on the categories you vote for. I mean... I've been here at least 2 years and I can't think of people to fit the categories all that easily. As far as I know there are no rules against board newbies voting.

You seem young and relationships at that age aren't a huge deal in the long run. I mean, do you even care about this girl are you just mad you got dumped? B/c if you're just angry, I'm sure you could find another girl fairly easily.

I've heard some pretty crazy shit about the Scientologists. They are apparently very litigious and have several lawyers in their stock who will sue anyone who publishes their secret documents, by invoking copyright law. I don't even think they like people using the word "Scientology," because it is trademarked. It's not that I find them that dangerous, it's more they are a force to be reckoned with in very real terms b/c they know how to work the system. A while ago I looked at a forum of former scientologists and they were very much against anyone joining. Just due to the monetary cost, the pure idiocy of it all... the religion claims that it can make you godlike if you go high enough, basically. The religion is based on the Science Fiction work of L. Ron Hubbard, for those of you who didn't know.

Will you please shut up? I don't understand what your problem is. That thread was along the lines of "blibbity blah when is the SMRPG editor going to be ready so I can use it?" There was nothing special about that thread, AND there was no need to post it b/c of the sticky thread we have. AND the editor was still in a state where you had to use mockups. Not very far along I'd say. This thread is to announce a possible release for a hack that is 3 years in the making.

Last I read, they don't treat it as a religion, therefore it has no tax exempt status = harder to operate. Co$ apparently took that as an attack on them.

If you mean something along the lines of Graal, then no. I.e. the SNES doesn't support Multiplayer with multiple screens, for obvious reasons. You could make it into a 2 player cooperative game similar to Secret of Mana if you really wanted. I'd say that would take a lot of coding, but not an insane amount.
