Um... well I didn't really change a font, but I did add some new characters for SM: Redesign. i.e. the numbers, dashes, etc. used in certain new bits of text. I had to make sure they conformed to the style of the old font though, that can sometimes be harder than making a whole new font.

While I don't think that is above our heads, it's definitely not in the interest of most people in the forum. We tend to hack games on systems that are way older. I'd go looking for a PSP dev forum or something.

I've worked with my brother a few times at various jobs and since we never got along all that great outside of work, we didn't mesh all that well inside work. However, my current GM's brother is working with him and I haven't seen them having any issues b/c they seem to be on good terms previously.

If you don't want your sister to get hired, tell your boss. It's just that simple. He may take it into consideration but there is no law that says she cannot be hired simply b/c you don't want her to.

The whole reason I find it to be sketchy is that crimes like these are usually premeditated. Someone who works in a hospital would have more time to contemplate such an act than a father who has the availability of a new baby daughter. Just sayin' is all... I'm not going to rush to judgement when the evidence doesn't exactly say for certain that any rape even occurred. All they mention was damage to the baby's rear. That could happen for any number of reasons I think. Mishandling by hospital workers, maybe a problem in the womb, a deformity, an undetected problem during the birthing, etc.

Although I did hear that the father took a lie detector test and that's what led them to him. Doesn't mean he's guilty though.

I wouldn't call it the end of the world but it's certainly not anything I would want to happen to me. Perhaps in the future they will have ways to reverse such problems, even have you generate new eggs, who knows. But don't count on technology, I'd have eggs saved ASAP if I were you.

Though, if your ovariesy are is having problems I would definitely look into the possibility that you have a more systemic problem that could end up being even more serious.

The checksums on most games are simple addition based checksums, not CRC16 or stuff like that you may have found on wikipedia. It's a balancing act, if you add $0E52, for example, to a certain location, you must add $0E52 to the checksum. If it's an inverse checksum, you must subtract it. You can do this kind fo stuff with the windows calculator if need be. Stating what game might help out a bit, as i've worked with zelda3, Super Metroid, and Chrono Trigger.

You mean you want, like, an offsets guide for data items in the rom? or code, or what?

I've been gathering a data offsets guide for some time now but I've never released it publicly.

I'm not too enthused about any of these systems, nor do I see why two of them cost so much. I'd lean towards the Wii, but I'm kind of tired of Nintendo's inability to provide more games I'd be interested in buying lately. Like, their offering of titles lately is almost all sports games with Mario themes. How about creating some new characters for once? Or attracting more third party developers that appeal to a broader range of gamers my age? Though it is a quintessential cliche nowadays, Nintendo is kiddy. It's marketing does not follow its fanbase, it targets children year after year.

All I know is, if I buy any of these, my primary consideration will probably be how easy it will be to run homebrew code on it. B/c I'm way more interested in programming than actual gameplaying these days.

Again, could you say what game? There is no way for me to tell you for sure without knowing this. Also, you have to view the file as an array of words, not bytes. i.e. the checksum is usually a 16-bit checksum. observe:

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 XX XX

XX XX is the checksum, but is it $000E? no. It is $0101 + $0101 + ... + $0101 = $0707, which would be 07 07 in hex.

Let's modify it to:

00 05 FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 07 07

well since the original word on the first row was $0000, we have added $0500 to the first word. The second word on the first row has had $00FF added to it. So when we go to calculate the checksum it will be $0707 + $0500 + $00FF = $0D06

So again, you probably should view it as changing a 16 bit value that is summed, rather than an array of 8-bit values that get summed into a 16-bit value. e.g. when I tried this with GBA games, the checksums were typically 32-bit aligned. It makes sense.

I endorse this statement. I loooove peanut butter cups in almost all forms. But white chocolate reese's are something that should never have been attempted. Something better left imagined than implemented.

I read that story a few days ago, though not with as much dialogue from the girl and her mother. Incidentally this occurred in Edinburgh, Scotland, where my ex gf is studying at currently. This doesn't surprise me given the idiotic and sometimes horrific antics of young teenagers she's told me about there. i.e. young skinny white kids acting all thugged out. The father was probably one of those.

Don't think officer's club and female land should be merged simply b/c one is for under 18 emo complaints while the other is for 18+ emo complaints and more importantly for girly stuff.

I think if you merge general emulation with general gaming you will regret it, seeing threads that you want to move out of the forum but will no longer be able to.

I agree with the removal of Advanced Romhacking as it's not really been that useful and it's subjective what is "advanced" romhacking.

I more or less agree with most of the other changes, though I'm not interested in seeing acmlmboard threads in the programming forum, nor am I interested in seeing lame game creation threads there either. Then again, I don't give a shit about the other forums.

So you have no more problems?

When I say you have to view it as 16-bit, I don't mean you HAVE to, I'm just saying it's likely to be 16 bit aligned b/c it's a SNES. However, the checksums for actual SNES roms are sums of 8-bit values mod 2^32, then trancated to mod 2^16. So it depends on who implements the checksum really. Hence having to know what game.
