My general rule is I work at a job for two weeks. If it's so terrible that if I want to quit after two weeks, I just don't come in ever again. The only job I've had that I thought was that terrible was a phone survey place.

Most other jobs I've hated for at most a week and a half, then you get adjusted and know people there, and know how to do your job better.

:: Real Canadian SuperStore <--- sounds sketchy based on your description
:: EB Games <--- most gamestores pay minimum wage, and no commission, from what I've heard. :/
:: Blockbuster <--- I would work in a movie place. The work seems easy and I like movies and being around people.
:: Wal-Mart <--- No.

Invisible braces aren't really invisible, they're just colored to sort of blend in with your teeth. If someone looked at you for more than a second they could tell you had them. I had braces for probably a year at most... they were pretty painful for a day after tightening (occasional) but other than that it was pretty minimal. Getting my wisdom teeth out was hella worse than all the time spent with braces + retainer, and that was only a week. It's funny that I remember very little about actually having braces, but yeah I do understand where you're coming from.

I think this thread would be better suited to World Affairs. Not that you couldn't get a serious discussion here... it just seems to be more suited to that topic in that forum. You could ask a staff member to move it there.

For myself, I don't really know if I believe in the spirit. There's very little in everyday experience to suggest it. I believe what you might perceive as spirit could boil down to some very complex chemical reactions in the brain. Do I believe that it has to be that way? Hardly.

When I was young I suppose I was more open to such notions... but my skepticism has grown quite a bit since then. However, I'd say I do have fundamental beliefs about how society should work. People shouldn't kill unless absolutely necessary. People should leave each other alone. I usually leave people alone, but I could hardly call that a universal, b/c there are lots of people who like to start shit (assholes).

If there's an afterlife, I can't imagine what it would be. I believe it's our purpose to master the universe, and dying doesn't seem like mastering anything. Perhaps we will figure out how to live forever through science some day. Of course we'd have to fight the right wing nutjobs tooth and nail. And there would probably be lots of failed experiments before that happened.

If there is a God (or gods), I don't think he's very fond of most humans. I say this b/c for the most part my life has been full of good things. Whether this is intercession or luck or my own careful regard for myself, I can't say. As I type this, a slight wave of fear gripped me... I guess it's an old trained reaction from Church. The fear that God is listening and getting pissed off at me and take what I say the wrong way . Which brings me to my last point - one reason I dislike religion is that it seems to be a tool of control and fear.

^Geez it's only like $475 for all that. Who doesn't have that? :p

Either way glad to see you got some nice gifts. I needs to get me a DS so I can try out the new Mario Kart game. Ever since Double Dash came out I've had renewed interest in the series. (MK64 suczors)

Posted on 11-24-05 04:27 AM, in What caused you to be here at Acmlm's Board? Link
I started off by... let's see. I started hanging out on the Super Metroid forum at Gamefaqs, and I met Kejardon and Account of Posting, along with Ultima4701 (both hackers of Super Metroid, Ultima was working on a rival editor for Super Metroid before he quit the scene), and eventually went to #supermetroid on... espernet i think. It's moved around a lot. The channel is basically dead now. But we used to try to glitch the hell out of that game, the king of which is Kejardon. Then I think one day Xin linked to Acmlm's board. I noticed it had a romhacking section and I was instantly interested, b/c I had been doing it independently for almost a year.

So I guess you've never heard of the infamous BRA #$FE?

That's weird how none of those variables are in the OAM range. I guess they're converted later to something it can use. Even weirder how it seperates low and high bytes by such a large distances.*

Perhaps you're using the wrong patch? He gave two patches that depend on the type of rom you have. Could also be a header issue (I was pretty sure NES roms had headers too but I'm no expert in that area.)

DD, I'm tempted to play this. But I don't want to spoil anything for when it gets finished. It looks really appealing so far.

http://mypage.iu.edu/%7Edwaggone/ZeldaFlow.rtf

lololol users: To read the SRAM/SRM guide, I'd recommend downloading it and viewing it in Word Pad with text wrap turned on. For some reason lololol doesn't want to wrap it. IE will work fine though.

The ZeldaComposite.txt some of you may have downloaded is no longer in one piece. It is now sepearted into two seperate files, as i have them on my computer.

What is new here? Well the SRAM documentation is maybe 99% complete. Some addresses are not fully understood yet, but they are now in the far minority. I've never found a guide as complete as this one. Version 5 will be the final version (currently 4).

ZeldaFlow.rtf has been largely expanded and refined. Much remains to be learned however.

Stay tuned for a Data Offsets Guide being released some time next year.

I'm not trying to flame, but please learn how to spell. It's Zophar's domain, and the hack is either Colosseum or Colisseum or Coliseum. The first and last are two proper spellings, and I think they may have actually mispelled it in their release. :/'

T. Geiger made Temporal Flux, his site is in his profile I believe, and he comes here so you can just look him up in the member list.

ps. michael springer = T. Geiger.

. I release this for people who already hack. Not people who are casual readers and want to get into hacking. I don't expect most people to be glued to it. And it's not an FAQ, its a listing of ram and sram addresses that a hacker can use when modifying the game, or to understand what the original game does. believe me if you ever do start ASM hacking you will want these guides.

Can you reproduce it from a fresh rom? Or is it just something that has happened to your rom and you don't know how to reverse it? (Please make a fresh copy and test it out to be sure.)

I'm curious why it wouldn't work, so if it's a general thing I will investigate it.

Well it's either that or it's not in the right dungeon. (Can you even mix dungeons?) I know the Sewer and Hyrule Castle mix together, but the programmers took pains to make it work that way for most of it.

The file says it requires some Standard Development Kits (SDKs). I don't think you have the Windows Media Format development kit, but that's just my guess.

(link was stretching tables)

HO HO HO

That's the link to the Reuter's article. I looked up 6 other articles on the subject and not one of them mentioned the ACLU being involved in any way*. To be honest with you, to me Holiday Tree == Christmas Tree. How many other fucking holidays could we be referring to here, eh? And besides that, the city officials seem to be okay calling it a Christmas Tree. Just b/c you change its name in a ceremony doesn't mean it can't still be a Christmas Tree.

The ACLU has done stuff to mess with Christmas in past years, but it seems that this year people are just trying to create a controversy over NOTHING.

*Of the websites that featured the Reuters article and commentary, primarily conservative websites like STOPTHEACLU.COM (surprise surprise) were the ones to drop the name of the ACLU either via staff comments, or user comments. If someone can find out if the ACLU actually has anything to do with this I'd like to see it, b/c I like juicy gossip like that.

Once you un-gzip the Snes9x format, you'll get this. As far as registers and APU, etc, I haven't explored that quite yet.

$C63 - $10C62 : VRAM

$10C6E - $30C6D: WRAM (i.e. $7E:0000 to $7F:FFFF)

$30C79 - $32C78: SRAM
