| I'm using a program called tilemolester to edit the tiles of Megaman X to change X into zero from X1. And for the sprites Zero does not have (running, climbing,) I will just replace with the sprite from X3.
Problem is, I'm new with this, and tile editing for these games are really tough, because it's hard to tell which is which on X. The tiles aren't exactly put together very well. I've searched the internet foever to see if someone made a hack for this game, but I've found notihng. I've always wanted to play as Zero in this game, as have many others. Would anyone like to offer help or an easier way to do this? Here's what I mean by "I'm new at this" LOL ![]() |

| I'm using tilemolester to edit Megaman X's sprites into Zero from X1. (And X3 Zero for animations like running and climbing.)
I figure the easiest way to do this is to import the spirte sheets onto any random dummy rom with the program and just copy/paste them onto the X tiles.. It's tougher than I thought, though. Since Megaman X's tiles don't come together easily at all in the actual game, it can be tough to find out what exactly you are going over. Can anyone help me with this? I think it would be awesome if a public rom was out there where you could play as the X1 Zero (a lot of people think he's cooler than X3's, which is why I'm not making him the X3 version all together) I also cannot find Zero's tiles in the actual game. X's are easy to find near the end, but Zero's are nowhere to be found. Perhaps if I just found those, I could do this no problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Yeah, I'm completely new to this so I really have no idea of an easy way to do this.
It's no wonder you see no Megaman X hacks out there. |

| I'm reading a Savestate hacking guide for Lufia that lets you do all sorts of junk. I'm using Hex Workshop as suggested. One of which lets you change the character sets, but this is where I get confused.
"During battle if you want to have the original characters and not the regular game characters, Maxim, Guy, Selan, and Artea, set the 20ED hex value to 01, 00 equals normal characters." I found the the 20ED just fine (there are multiple, actually), but where do you find the 00 value to change to 01? How do you change this? |

| I found multiple when I searched for it in the Rom/savestate I'm just totally confused as to what exactly I need to change and how to do it.
Edit: whoops. I see what you are saying as in offset instead of value. Still don't know wha/howt to change from here though, lol What should I do? (edited by Powder Keg on 09-05-06 03:03 PM) (edited by Powder Keg on 09-05-06 03:03 PM) |
