Tile Molester. You can create a blank file in it, draw whatever you want, and save it somewhere you won't delete it. No ROM needed. (That's if I'm understanding you correctly)

I'm out. DarkSlaya whooped my butt!

The only reason I got so many red shells was because I sucked so bad.

Not a bug. You have to make the text the same size as the original, apparently.

Those are one set of games that I'm actually looking forward to. I just hope they actually get released in Europe.

The first nibble is made up from the first 8 bytes, and the second nibble is made up from the second 8 bytes.

The first one, then.

I can definitely see your point (hell, I actually agree with your point), but I believe that the meaning of ROM hacker has been in use for so long, that it will be impossible to change the definition of it.

The source code for the latest version is up on Acmlm's website.

Maybe because those of us who do the real work don't want to be lumped in with the rest of you?

What real work have you done that allows you to actually say that?

That's not when I meant, I meant the ones below the level editor. I'd better test out the MMX3 level editor before moving it to insectduel's domain as a hosted hacks section and since requesting utilities in my domain is not allowed. Zophar's domain got plenty of them. Either way I should move the MMX3 level editor onto an another ROM hacking site. These editors were not meant to be in my site without their authorized permission.

When it comes to ROMS next to it, That's gonna change.

Any utility is a good thing in my opinion, but I don't think you really need to add encryption support. It could be easily reverse-engineered (not the actual files, but the offsets), and I don't think it really benefits anyone to have data encrypted/locked/whatever.

I really don't see the point in keeping things closed. The ROM hacking "community" is relatively small. Repeating other people's efforts are wasteful. It's totally in the best interest of everyone to release source code. I don't even see how you could argue that it isn't.

You can still open-source your code, and retain copyright. You are right though, it shouldn't be forced on developers, but it would be beneficial for everyone if source code was released. Hell, it doesn't even have to be at the time of the utilities release. It could be one year down the road, or something.

A few possibilities:

1. You aren't using the correct base ROM.
2. Whatever you used to create the IPS patch stuffed up.
3. Whatever other people used to patch the ROM stuffed up.
