Hmm.

The mech. Not that I plan to save (or take over) the world with it... that'd be too much work. I could find some use for it, though.

And I'd need the torso to be able to detatch and fly around seperately, just in case the legs get damaged.

Hmm...

As long as it's not done for every little problem, I have no problem with it. If the child is scared of the parent, there's something seriously wrong, but at the same time it can be very effective when used as needed.

But that steps into the realm of policing bad parenting, which is a tricky discussion, so... as long as it's not excessive, it's not abuse.

I don't think that a wooden paddle should be used, either. My grandmother, unfortunately, disagreed with me there.

Yeah, and a baseball bat for the moderator, right?

There'd be security cameras, but most would be either non-working or in the process of being installed. The FAQ would be written on a giant slab of stone which would swing down and hit each newbie, except for the ones smart enough to see it coming.


I'd say more, but the other ideas go into specifics about people. And shouldn't this be in Craziness instead?

Anyway, I think both sides are exaggerating a bit too much here. As geeo has said, not all kids can be reasoned with, and sometimes such punishments as taking away a toy may not fully convey the message (that they did something wrong, but not always what it was or how bad it was). At the same time, I think his second paragraph (that is, the second block of text, not the second doublespaced sentence) is also a gross exaggeration and neglects to mention countless examples of parental stupidity.

Perhaps this is why many people think that children can only be disciplined through spanking. If the mature adults or near-adults aren't willing to listen, who can expect a young child to be?

Eh, I'm not saying it's the best idea by any stretch. I do think that, as long as it's not overused, it works, but I'm sure there's better ideas out there.


As for bad parents, I can't say I had the best or the worst. Looking back, I see plenty of room for improvement though. My grandmother resorted entirely to failed guilt trips (ruined by too often being overdramatic and making it hard for me not to laugh at her because of that) or spanking, and my mother has to have been (still is, I can see it in how she treats the dogs) one of the most inconsistent and easily-manipulated people I've ever met. So, there. Now you can pin it on me not having any good examples to learn from, if you so choose.

I would suggest darkening the blue a bit. Like the male LM color, it suffers a bit from Whiteitis. Not to the point shown in Synthrax's post, but the blue could use some darkening. Green, yellow, orange, and pink are fine, IMO. Red COULD get darkened a bit to be a bit more different from pink, but I don't care either way there.

Of course, the entire problem could be averted if people would just use the HTML and hex chart for picking colors, but...

That would also be why Mario has to go to ALL of the castles. The Toads don't know which one she's in, so Mario just takes a guess and is constantly wrong.

Well, I'd like to see some more N64 stuff done, text editors, level editors, doesn't matter to me. OOT gets my vote.
