It's not so much that I dislike the name Wii (though I do, admittedly, but it's just a name)... I just think that such a decision is going to screw them over. It doesn't sound "cool", so no one's going to want to talk about it in school (especially with the people who look for any reason to knock the shit out of someone; I've got plenty of experience with them), and as the <17 crowd seems to generally be Nintendo's target demographic... you see where I'm going with this.

Math, this is geeogree. He does this sort of thing a lot - he mentions a name or an incident, and tells everyone else to look it up. Surely someone other than me has also noticed that.

And yes, you are correct - I haven't heard of him, I tend to take more of a "look it up as needed" approach, but if someone is going to try to back up his opinion with some examples, he's got to actually provide the examples. You don't really expect your opponents in a debate to research your side of the issue in order to help your case, do you? =/

It could be said that what he does encourages people to stop sucking.

However, to be entirely fair, this hack doesn't look nearly as bad as SOME I've seen. The theme doesn't work, and some of the palette choices are bad, though not so much in the "horrible clashing" way as the "wrong shades" way. Shot 2, for example, has a castle too dark for a sky as bright as that one. The fog/clouds in shot 4, as Glyph pointed out, simply don't work together. Back to Shot 2, the castle tiles don't work together, period. The background and font on the title screen are far too dark and blend in to the background too well. The Banzai Bill sucks. Too much contrast in shot 4 between the bright orange and the dark brown. And while there's no other complaints I have about it, what the hell is Shot 5 supposed to be?

I'd put it in the Meh zone, roughly 4-6 out of 10. Banal, perhaps, but doesn't seem to be an unplayable wreck. Touch up the palettes, change some of your tile choices, and consider a switch to a more fitting theme. And of course, the level design can't be neglected. Still, at least it looks like it could be improved.

Seems reasonable. It looked more like you were defending his particular methods at first. My mistake.

Although I might add, someone with a truly open mind would do well to look up the things their opponents mention in debate. Even if they won't extend you that courtesy at least you have seen where they are coming from.


I would share this belief, and perhaps I agree with the basics of it. However, if they aren't worth the time to defend and substantiate them, why should they be worth the time to learn about them?

Hopefully that'll be the end of my derailing of the thread.


While I don't really trust Microsoft (or any other large business, discussion for another time though), I think that some people are being a little... extreme. I refer specifically to the missiling RM mentioned. I can't really think of much else to say, maybe because it's 3:30 AM, so maybe tomorrow I'll add more.

I think it stopped actually speeding up somewhere around level 45...

It was a prank, I heard about this on the news.

3. It's glue... If in some strange case it DID dry that fast, you can easily pull your ass off the seat, if not undo the seat and use hot water to remove it.
I think it was super glue, but I missed part of the TV news thing about this because the volume was too low, and the article doesn't say much about it.
