Na, the pack in ones die fast, if you use good alkaline, it should last for a little more than a week. (If you play much and many hours)

****

Can anyone explain this? (See attachement)

Why does Japan have different moons than the rest of the world? (Also Tokyo lacks temperature).

Hellas, I just read the review over at IGN.

It has 7 solid games on it, no bonuses worth to mention, and crappy control, I hope the PAL-Release gets Classic Controller and Cube Digi Pad support.

Konami releases three (count them) Compilations for PSP, Pop 'n Twinbee, Salamander and Parodius.

Now there good and bad news about this.

The bad news first: No US release. I dare to say never.

The good news, all will be coming on January 25th, 2007.

Now I want a PSP.

It's harsh, but I just wanted to hear this!

Now, how to get this thing on a) Wii VC or b) Nintendo DS?

VC is possible, you'd have to think that Gradius and Gradius III will be on there at some point. Life Force/Salamander too... dunno about the market for Parodius here though. That might be a EU thing since I know two games were released there.

Good thing I live in Europe.

Japan got the PlayYan and PlayYan micro.

First plays MP3s, Movies and Games,
the Micro-Edition plays MP3s and Movies.
The Nintendo MP3 Player plays MP3s.

So, in the evolution of thins, stuff gets lost.

I just bought one (Nintendo MP3 Player).

Whats bad about it?
- It's bigger than a standard GBA-Cart, so it sticks out quite a bit on a DS.lite.
- It only reads SD-Cards.
- It only plays MP3's (But many Bitrates, VBR, x KHz, Stereo & Mono).
- About 40 Bucks

Whats good about it?
- It plays allmost all MP3's (There is allways a MP3 File it won't play)
- It reads SD-Cards up to 2GB (Gigabyte)
- It works on all GBA-Hardware (in contrast to what Nintendo lets you believe)
- The Soundquality is good. What your Shuffle can, your Nintendo MP3 Player can too.
- It has a nice GUI in two variations.
- Battery lasts between 10 to 18 hours (Micro / DS)

GBA Specific Features*)
- Nice and easy to use interface
- Sleep Mode
- Integrated Headphone Jack, slighlty better Quality than the GBA-one
- Sleepmode (Screen and other functions Shut Down) while still playing through own Headphone jack, also acts as a Lock.
- Some nice features in the GUI (Mario and Dancing)

*)GBA also means other GBA-Compatible Hardware

Why should I buy this?
- You do not own a working MP3 Player yet.
- You have a GBA-Compatible Device with you anyway.
- Some SD-Cards lying around (For Wii or other stuff).

OR

- You must own anything Nintendo Related (Not really a good point).

More tomorrow, after a field-test.

EDIT: The package may state the incompatibility with Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP systems, I have a Video that proofs the opposite.

So, I was out in the World today, to test this device.

The quality is good, very good (If you use the supplied headphone jack), I heard new things in songs I never noticed, real clear.

The only drawback is, a DS or DSlite is big, and to change the volume, you have to open your DS and first press start, then adjust the volume.

It's also sad there is no function to play all mp3's on the sd card, only those in a folder.

But overall, I'm happy with it.

Did another field test, this time I used a standard Game Boy Advance System.

I think it's better with the old GBA, or a GB Micro than with a DS, it's smaller, and the volume can be adjusted much quicker.

Even If you have an old System lying around, give it a go. (I only used it about 3-4 hours, but I still have the green light, I estimate a 10+ hour average for battery life).

2. Revenge of the Gator (Game Boy)

I just played it the other day against a friend, It was a lot of fun. Sure the second best pinball game that ever hit the Game Boy (The best is Pokémon Pinball).

And DK '94 is one of my favorite GB-Games. Next to Wario Land II and Tetris DX.

A Picture of it here.

I once had a Flash2Advance 256MBit Pro, back then, when most here did not know about flashcards. Sadly it broke. Most of the Music-Players for GBA back then, where quality-wise not good, you had to convert the files to another format or a specific frequency and bitrate.

I have no doubt, that Moonshell is great (And may be even less buggy than Pogoshell) but it's kind of hard to decide on a good Flashcard or similar device for your Nintendo DS.lite. (If I want a card, I want one that fits, may uses SD-Cards, is fast, and just works.

Spoiler:
I hate people that ask for .this and .that files, they are DS- and GBA-Roms. Period.

I mean I can see Nintendo making a MP3 player, but one that only works on GBA and DS. I mean not everyone is gonna be able to get it.

I don't know how it is at your place, but at my place, iPod's are expensive, most cheap mp3-players are shit, and SD-Cards you may use to store photos or Wii save games and stuff.

My shuffle broke on me, and I would be better of buying a new one, instead of replacing the battery, and the Nintendo MP3 Player is more affordable.

As I already said, if you have a GBA compliant device lying around, it's a good choice to use that some more. And as SD-Cards are replaceable, why not just swap 'em on the fly? (Of course, it's not as confident as having a HD with a display attached).

But in the end, it's up to you, what you buy and use.

Actually, the only thing that happened is that we reset the months and days in the calendar, only to increment the year by one.

Very exciting.
