When ROM hacking, yes, a lot.
When playing, depends. Not to cheat, but like when I play a SMW hack, I use save states on the map.

Can't you use another sprite (that actually hurts) disguised as Yoshi's fireballs ?

"2=Fireball"

That's the tiny fireball of Mario, right ?

"B=Fireball"

Is this one any different ?

Anyway, I'd pick Reznorballs, I guess... Why the "?" though ? Aren't you sure they're Reznor fireballs ?

I see... That's too bad.
Maybe some of the gurus here have a nice solution for that.

The only racist hacks I know of are KKK Bros 1 and 2... I always wondered whether the author was serious and actually racist, or if he had a dary sense of humor.
Those 2 hacks are very old though.

There's already one in ghettoyouth's hack, although it doesn't behave like the SMB3 one, it just runs forward and throws hammers.

Basically.

1- Edit config.php to fit what you need
2- Upload all files
3- Launch the install file (for older versions I believe) or import the SQL file into your PhpMyAdmin

If you have a 1.Ax version though, you may have to struggle with the $root variable as an added bonus.

Nice.

I'm interested in making a SoR 3 editor, but I don't know where to start.... Any tips ?

Sorry, I was actually wondering whether it was worth spelling it all out, I guess everyone isn't as big of an SoR fan as I am.

SoR = Streets or Rage. Or Bare Knuckle in Japan... On Genesis / Mega Drive.
I reckon MD hacking is much less advanced than SNES hacking...

Maybe using "Multi-OS" or simply "for Mac OS / Windows" would have been better.
Userfriendly doesn't imply anything as far as the operating system is concned.

Well, I like 2 better as well. I guess most people enjoy SoR 2 better because of the musics, level designs, and stuff... It just feels like a nicer and more complete package. However, SoR 3 has an undeniably better and deeper game engine. The game feels somewhat rushed and uninspired, and the difficulty is messed up (in both the Japanse and English versions) which why there is room for improvement. In other words, it has more potential for a hack than SoR 2, in my opinion...

I guess I'm not done derailing this thread after all, sorry Raccoon.

Too bad the guy who achieved this didn't decide to work on a good game instead.

Call me a Fusion whore if you want, but if it doesn't work with Fusion, there are very strong chances it won't work on real hardware.

The character selection screen looks very amateurish. A mixed bag of different picture styles, and the thing isn't even symmetrical.

But I guess that hacking-wise, it required quite some skills to make.

Maybe both of you guys should try doing it on a clean ROM rather than on your hacks, just in case.

this isn't the problem, I tested with a hacked ROM

That's what I'm saying - try again on a clean ROM. Obviously, there are small chances you guys work on the same hacked ROMs, but you definitely have the same original ROMs.

Flash news:

- Emulators aren't perfect
- ROM dumps are bad sometimes

You should be able to manage with those 2 pieces of information.
