Copied incorrectly ? I can't see how.
I'm simply replacing the original "$msg=..." by what you gave me.

I'll try that link you gave me once I'm back home, and I'll let you know...
___

Edit: The problem probably comes from the fact I don't overwrite what I should, that's what you must have meant...

The original function is like that:

function doreplace2($msg){
global $smilies;
if(!$smilies) $smilies=readsmilies();
for($s=0;$smilies[$s][0];$s++){
$smilie=$smilies[$s];
$msg=str_replace($smilie[0],"<img src=$smilie[1] align=absmiddle>",$msg);
}
etc

I assumed I had to put what you gave me inside instead of the $msg= line... I tried other things too, with no success.

Yes...

http://stifu.free.fr/s.php

However, for some reason, when I tested it locally using EasyPHP, it wouldn't work anymore if used inside the for.
Looks like it's the same once uploaded... I don't get any error anymore, it simply displays smilies all the time, regardless of what's around them...

Considering the original ones were black and white and much smaller, there's many ways you could represent them in a bigger, colored version... So your excuse is bad.
Your plants just look like resized Mario plants...
Also, the SML plants didn't have teeth, or at least they were too small to be represented by such little sprites... So yeah, that just proves you could remake them in many different ways, depending on your take on them.

Oh yes, I did remove the $1 while messing with the file... Sorry about that.
And I don't know why it doesn't work inside the loop, but it certainly does not, no matter what... I tried countless times.

Have a look: http://stifu.free.fr/board2/thread.php?id=8891

Anyway...
No matter how good you may be, your talent is wasted and your stuff is worthless if you don't finish anything. And if you discontinue (or even simply keep on hold) your projects because of trivial forum arguments, either you're way too sensitive and care too much, or you weren't all that motivated in the first place... Whatever.
On the bright side, your ninja idea sounds great... Except hacking SMW all the time must be boring... At least it's quite boring to play most SMW hacks.

Yes it was.

Oh oh, so it was.
Well, as long as you feel like the shit that happened here justifies stopping work on your hack, then all is good.

You may not care, but I have a different philosophy: I work on my own stuff for myself, because I like doing so. What others do or say about it has little to no effect on my motivation.
If your motivation was so frail as to crumble for something like that, then it's probably better for you to give up now.
I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but that's true...

Funnily, the argument between the two of us in your Maria thread started because of a comment from you that was supposedly a joke, and that I shouldn't have taken seriously. Yet, now it actually seems like you're the one who takes things too much to heart.
And despite what you might think, I'm not trying to put you down, but simply to make you realize you should know what's important and what isn't.

In my own customized version of AcmlmBoard (made from v1.A2), I have, among other things, removed the $root variable. Instead, I have added a $path one that checks the amount of "/" in the address bar to define in which folder level you're in.
So, basically, it does what $root was made for, except you don't need to hardcode the board address somewhere, and it actually works fine.

PS: Xk, I always wondered, how do you find out whether there are exploits or not if you don't know what they are ?
Unless someone used that hole to screw the board, I'm not sure...

Quite simply because this is a forum that deals with things I'm interested in. I'm interested in looking at what others make or find.

Some people will take it to heart, because maybe they put a buttload of work in it, and all of a sudden someone has to thrash them; it's cool to have constructive criticism but there is a more suttle way to do things.

I didn't read what others said to Sgraff, but I certainly didn't trash her or her work. I just gave her my opinion on her stuff, even though she didn't want to hear it.

Haha... I didn't say you were frail, only saying IF that was the case, THEN you should give up.
If that's not the case, I'd love to see you prove that it's not true.
Yet again, my comments weren't meant to be insulting or belittling, I'm just trying to make you react and stand up, as opposed to whining about meanies who did this or that to you.

Although it sounds like your little ego, attitude or whatever get in the way of trying to calmy listen to what I have to say, but I expected that...

And you sound like you got a quite selective memory, but whatever...

You are taking things wrongly again.
I do not want you to stand up and fight me, but to stand up and work on your hack(s), to push you to try harder to finish what you started.

As for the ego thing, I just skimmed through your Maria thread, and stumbled on posts from you that were like "I'm quite an artist"... So yeah.
Let me tell you one last thing: no matter how good you are, you should stay humble. Regardless of how many people flatter your ego, praise your work, etc...
If you're really good, people will see it themselves or will state it for you, so there's no need for you to brag about it. Arrogant people, regardless of their talent, are not (or less) respectable to me.

Last time I told you I'd stay away from your topic to avoid problems, which is not something I would have done if my sole purpose was to troll. But since it looks like we've got constant communication problems, I'll simply stay away from all of your topics from now on. So worry not. Ciao.

How is that "basic logic" ? Have you never seen people whose moustache/beard color was different from their hair ?
Also, some people have their hair that ends up growing white long before the beard, and vice versa...

This is almost insulting to those who can actually make good graphics. I'm referring to those praises made by easily impressed or tasteless people - I'm not blaming ghettoyouth... He's only showing his stuff, and didn't claim the graphics as his.
And yeah, even if you don't consider the fact graphics are ripped, many things don't match together... There's no definite graphic style or atmosphere...
