Okay, simply checking to see why this is occuring, took a clean file of 1.92, run the SQL dump, and threads aren't spolling posts in due to an SQL error. (Line 162, which refers to the variable at 132.
$posts=mysql_query("SELECT p.*,text$sfields,edited,tagval,u.id uid,name,$ufields,regdate FROM posts p,posts_text LEFT JOIN users u ON p.user=u.id WHERE thread=$id AND p.id=pid ORDER BY p.id LIMIT $min,$ppp");

Since I've been gone quite a while, can't be too sure what is going wrong here, and I imagine this is a common problem for fresh installs since I haven't touched the source yet.

Haha, I didn't do it first either, far from actually. On ABoards both Tuvai and I did it before anyone else I believe, but not 100% sure. Regardless, the idea was far from new, I got it from a PSO based vBulletin board I used to go to call Cloudchaser's. So the idea has been around for some time now.

And I may release some content if I work with an Acmlmboard when I finalize my board plans. (So much demand for Assault Battle 2.0 to be made, heh.) That is, if I can get the thread.php problem to fix itself. Hopefully it's not just an issue with my MySQL being too up to date.

I'll be there as well. Most likely hanging out at the Chugworth and VGcats tables harassing my buds, so you know where to find me if you care. =p

And yeah, I'm back after a year and a half or so. Scary, no?

Ogre - Hakkar (EU) -I'm a freaking beast.
Currently plowing our way through Naxx, hoping to have DKP ready for Nerubian Slavemaker when we finally get to Kel'thuzad and beat his face in.

Not gonna bother posting a screenshot cause I'm an ergonomics nut. Tabbed browsing, numerous programs that run but don't need to be watched hiding in the system tray, that sort of thing. Most you'll ever see in my task bar is 3-4 items when I'm swapping stuff around in folders. =P

Word. I've never ripped off current games, but I emulate all sorts of old systems. My DS has just about every SNES RPG and a large wad of my puzzle games on it. (Yay for 4GB SD cards)

Oh, and there was talk that they'd package UMD's with normal DVD's so you get both for only 5$ more, but due to struggling PSP sales recently and the already lackluster performance of UMD's, that plan seems to be canceled.

The PSP could of been good, but they totally F'ed it up and it's game support was horrible. I can count on one hand how many good PSP games there are with decent replay. Unlike the DS which I don't have enough digits to count the amount of good games even if I include my toes.

I've played it, it is made of good and win. However, I know that there will be LEGIONS of fanboys that absolutely despise it. There are simple reasons I liked 12, which I'll go ahead and mention in a second, but they are also the reasons I know fanboys will hate it, because they went and made the game totally different.
-I like being able to SEE what I'm about to pick a fight with, not get blindsided by monster.
-I love the more realistic aspect of mobs running in fear and looking for help like you see in MMO's and 12.
-I enjoy seeing the growth systems differ from standard Gain level, get skills complex so many games have.
-I like the immersion of being in control of one character while you rely on others to do thier jobs, but are still free to give them commands when needed. (btw: Passive mode is for pussies.)

I'm an MMO tard obviously, mostly because their combat systems are more like what actual combat would be like. Not an orderly, organized mauling. Also, in regards to FF series, the villain's have gotten more interesting as they progressed. Screw Kefka, Kefka was a quack. No development on his character on WHY he decided to blow the world up, he just did. OH BOY. At least we know what drove Sephiroth or Seymour to thier actions, making them more likeable. (Seymour > Sephiroth though.) Also look at their development on archetypes, before Tifa can you think of one female in the FF series that was not only physically strong, but willfully too? Only Faris comes close; Rosa, Rydia, Celes(emobitch), Relm, and Terra were all pushovers.

Oh, and just for the hell of it, favorite FF games in order: 12, 10, 7, 6, 4.*
Favorite RPG's in general: FF12, Shadow Hearts 2, Suikoden 5, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears.

*=Bite me, I don't care what you think about my order. The series has gotten BETTER in it's agefor the most part, don't dwell on the past.

read: Get time off work, buy your ticket at the door. The line for reservations is usually longer than walk in's, as amusing as that is.

And there is a high probability I'll be going as a /b/tard. (Since Aya and I are going to the /b/tard showing of Snakes on a Plane in PA anyway.)

Are you just blind then? Let's see, Tifa helped Cloud come to terms with his false memories and regain his sanity. As for Sephiroth, he was driven by the urge to return the world in it's entirety to being Lifestream to avenge his mother Jenova for the wrong doing put upon her.

Kefka?....did some amusing crap, but you don't know why. If I wanted to idolize a crazy person, I'd look to Luca Blight instead. Now THERE was a vicious bastard.

As for groundbreaking games, they can suceed and make bank, yeah. FF12 is doing that nicely in Japan right now. Other examples can be made of God of War and Katamari Damacy. God of War remade the action/adventure genre in a way, and Katamari basically made it's own genre.

Oh, and btw: FF11 did suck balls. It tried to be EQ+FF, but that combo = fail. Wasting 3 hours killing Kirin for Wind Crystals is when I decided "Hey, fuck this game."

ASP is Microsoft's version of PHP in a way, they share several similarities. Except that PHP is free to use, last I checked (long ago) ASP servers had to be paid for.

As for random messages *points at my own* just go find a PHP script and toss it on a free server that allows PHP, there are tons.

Oh, so by your analysis, he was just a junkie. Even more reason for me to dislike his massive, undeserved, fanbase.

And also, why the hell did Tifa never even MENTION this to Cloud prior to his psycho memory lane trip? She wasn't that dense, she remembered it better than he, if not entirely so.
She does stop him a few times in his retelling, but Barrett constantly tells her to shut her yap and let him continue, or stops to see what else he's going to say. Also, if you bother to do the scene in Zack's house with both Tifa and Aeris, it tends to shed a lot more light on the subject.

As for Cloud and Sephiroth, yeah, they weren't awesome characters. They were okay, good designs, but too loved for not the best of reasons. But then again, I always tend to like the more unusual character choices. (GO WAKKA.) But in personality aspects, the both of them were still more interesting to me then thier counterparts from 6, Locke and Kefka.

Come to think of it, I'm having trouble thinking of any major villian that was actually worth paying attention too. Seymour to a lesser degree for all his motives that are revealed. Mostly I just come up with ...Pokey. (Don't ask.)

Of course show posts doesn't work, the problem lies in the query structure itself. Which I'm already leaning toward the answer being my MySQL server is too up to date. (Using the new 5.1 release on localhost)

Also doesn't really matter any more, gonna end up producing the board for our site from the ground up anyway. I still like Ace's, but there is a lot of fat in it I wanted to cut out anyway, and it's still having serious security issues.

As in, villians that had a good background and drive to whatever they were trying to do. From the FF thread I'm having a crisis of faith as I can think of one really well explained villain. Looking for someone with either an odd reason driving them to evil, or just a well laid out use of evil.(Like how manipultive Seymour was in FF10)

The only really good villian I could think of was Luc from Suikoden 3. This is partially because you know so much about him already and his power, and partially because his drive to commit the crimes he does is simply so he can use other True Runes to end his life. No power hunger, no urge to wreck the world, just a need to die.

Lavos wasn't even really a villian as it was just THERE. Lavos was an overgrown parasitic organism. It didn't manipulate evolution, it effected it by it's very presence. It's like any modern day parasite, there is no motivation, just survival instincts, so Lavos is disqualified. =p

Fou-Lu is a decent answer, I did enjoy playing as him and taking his ending path instead. (Which I'll give Capcom bonus points for that brave ending choice) As for Luca...don't get me wrong, I liked Luca cause he was demonically powerful for a human, but we barely got to see what drove him other than sheer bloodlust. So I can't say Luca was a great villian, as much as I can say he was the king of VG psychopaths.

Although it goes against my better judgement, screw it. Here's my script, it's very simple to modify up. In the array after $quotes=array('1' => put any quote you want in single quotes 'blah blah blah', and add a comma after it if it's not the last one. You can see my quote roll for an example.

If you can't figure that out, I can't (won't.) help you.

[edit]Forgot to mention, you need a \ before any quotation marks you use in a quote to escape breaking the line. (They are removed later by the script.)

And WOW that's a bad setup for showing attachments, it broke the tables, haha.

It can, and it can't. The method Ace has set up to compare dates isn't bulletproof, and thus servers don't recognize the date right. (Server issue really, not his fault.) To allow past this point on other boards, they've had to write thier own conversion code. Oh boy.

Syn, your way gets very bloated with unnecessary code fast that way. By using an array everything is in a neat, orderly fashion. (Yay for streamlining.)

And less customizable how? =P Actually easier to apply color and size formating to my script. Change the color variables to effect the background and font colors(simple RGB format)
$bg=ImageColorAllocate($img, 255,255,255);
$textc=ImageColorAllocate($img,0,0,0);

and if you want to change up the size, simply modify the two digits I've underlined. (The font size indignation.
$width=ImageFontWidth('2') * strlen(stripslashes($str));
ImageString($img,2,0,0,$str,$textc);

Easy as Pi.
