Don't call me out on grammar boyo That sentence may have been made a bit complex due to the repetition, but it still made perfect sense
Edit: There, that's how tired I've been this week XD. I clicked "edit" in your post instead of "New Reply". True story |

That's awful, he's the freshest face on TV this decade.
I really hope he pulls through. He's been taken to the neurological unit with head injuries, but there are reports that he was able to talk to the emergency services before he left the scene of the accident. Hopefully this is a good sign. I know there are others that watch Top Gear here, outside of the UK. Blades is one, I've talked regularly about Top Gear with him, and we both love the show. |

I've watched it since the early ninties, easily the most entertaining factual show on television. In it's newer incarnation, it's gone from strength to strength, with neither the presenters nor the BBC bowing to pressure to tone down the entertainment factor. This is a shining example of how the BBC should be commissioning programs. Absolute top-class stuff.

According to Clarkson, he's walking and talking again, barely.
It's a remarkable recovery for just a few days after such an accident... |

I'm looking for a more secure method of encrypting passwords than MD5 to be used in a PHP university project. I've been recommended SHA-256 as good way to go.
Does anybody know any good, free ways of implementing SHA-256 hashing in my project? |

Thanks guys, that first one looks promising!
The second one I found at the top of a google search, but it appears to be copyrighted and not available under the GPL. I could always write the algorthm in myself, but I've got my hands full with getting a basic board system implemented quickly so I can address new features and ideas that are a requirement of the project. Thanks! |

The Bugatti Veyron is an insane car. True, it's not a car that will go down in history as a classic car, but I don't think any rational person would turn down a ride in one. I certainly wouldn't.
Most of the negative comments here I think are justified but on the harsh side. Responding to ||bass' comments, 99% of all considered classic cars of eastern, european and western original are production cars. For instance, what about the Jaguar E-Type, the Mini, The Porsche 911. All of these are classic cars held in the highest regard with a genuine motorsport pedigree- and all production cars. All of these cars have also had years of experience and love put into their design and manufacture. They sold so well and became classics because they are excelent cars that anybody could buy and enjoy not just enthusiasts who had the time and the money to put into making hot-rods. Using a "256 mph" monstrosity of a car is also not the most effective way to criticise the Veyron, either Pot, meet Kettle... In other news, I would probably go for a Koenigsegg CCX than a Veyron. They're both demon-cars, but the Koenigsegg is built with a little more love, wisdom and science than the brute-force Veyron. An honourable mention also goes out to the Top Gear 200mph Lotus Esprit. A 200mph supercar done on the cheap was a very tall order, but I think it did an amazing job under the circumstances. I'm a software engineer by trade, specialising (if you could call it that) in web-based applications. However, I've got my final year of university to return to this year, so I've hat to hang up my gloves for a bit.
I've got a flat in the city centre of Sheffield with a fair rent for a single bedroom. The only other things I have to pay for is council tax, internet, phone and other energy bills. I'm also considering subscribing to Blockbuster's online rental service, so I don't have to pay extortionate prices for DVD boxsets of 24 and Deep Space Nine. |

This is a good place to start... I managed to get a simple threaded discussion going starting here, if I remember correctly. It should only take you an afternoon to get going :-)

Yeah, it's a universal constant that all teachers/lecturers who teach HTML for a living will be washed up bums who couldn't get a proper job doing it. You can tell, because an experienced web developer would never, ever discard lololol as "wrong".
I think I refused to do half of the excercises in my tutorial, as I could already demonstrate that I knew how to do them. Then I got into an arguement with the lecturer over whether Perl and Oracle or PHP and MySQL is better. He didn't seem to understand the benefit of MySQL being available literally everywhere. He still likes me quite a lot, actually, very scary. |

OS X is great. Full stop. It's not as configurable as Linux but it's much more powerful than Windows and will just work hard in the background without you even knowing it's there. It's good in that respect. You can just do what you're doing without inhibition and OS X will just make everything easy.
Does that make me a n00b? No, I run Linux on my laptop. Two people I know at university (one a lecturer) have puchased Macs this year, they're both fully competant Linux users. Anybody who has an agenda against an opperating system (perhaps even including XP) is trying to inflate their e-peen, and probably don't even know what they're talking about. |

Promgramming is a great soothing activity, although when something doesn't work I do inevitably feel worse.
I think it's a feeling of things conspiring against you on a bad day |

Well, it's not meant just to be funny- it's more of a game really. It's just one day in a year to give up your inhibitions and play around a bit- thats why so many guys crossdress for hallow'een.
It's completely acceptable to crossdress just for one day, don't worry about it. If you definately don't want to do it though, that's your call |

There's so many games I want on launch, it's silly. It's getting to the stage that some of the games I want are rumored to have been delayed, and I start to think "Yes! I can wait and save for that one now!"
Here's the games I'm intending on buying: Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3 Wario Ware Rayman I'm also quite interested to see how good Farcry is, although this is the least likely out of all the games I've mentioned that I'll buy. I'll think about purchasing the Virtual Console games as I see them. |
