I got it on Friday and only got round to playing it this morning. I'm only up to w1-7, but I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed so far.

There are a few nice new features, like the M blocks, and a lot (if not, all) of the old enemies and features make a return, but

  • The music, put bluntly, sucks. It's so boring; they could have just reused the old music.
  • The ground graphics of most outdoor levels in the first world are awful; too solid-looking; they actually look like cheese. But the castle and cave graphics are done quite well.
  • Old levels keep popping up, including bonus areas. It was fine for the Welcome to Yoshi's Island level, but they should've drawn the line there.
  • Most backgrounds are really plain, and those that aren't are used over and over.
  • The split between the two screens is just annoying; there are about 40 pixels between the two that are invisible while playing. I'd prefer if it were more like NSMB.

I'm hoping things will get better (and the rest of the levels will redeem these bad points) as the game goes on.

Anyway, what do you guys think of it?

I was expecting the same "feel" from the game too, but the atmosphere is totally different (and then other little things like having to hold Y to run _¬ ).

Well considering the jump sound in SMASSMB3 is the same as SMW's, I doubt it.

You'd have a lot of work to get sound effects from the NES onto a SNES game, methinks.

Finally started on my Sky world. It's a little plain at the moment, ie there's only one path to take, and the island is empty, but yeah, everything you'd expect to be animated is.

You should probably check out this thread.

Currently, it has about 60 or 70 complete levels, but most of them aren't assigned to a level in the overworld yet. As for the overworld, about 7 of 10 worlds are built.

If the problem is that you can't find the router in the View Available Wireless Networks window, you should try changing the channel inside the router. In most cases it's set to 01; change it to 06 and try again.

I've considered that, but Mario can climb of the edge of the vine, but not off the cage.
