Just posting to say, I burned all of My Documents to blank DVDs (it took 4), restored it to how it was on Day 1, and everything's working perfectly now, including WMP.

Now all that's left to do is take a few hours to copy everything back from the DVDs. _¬

Thanks to Bio for coding a huge ASM hack for me, I was able to animate up to 128 8x8 tiles on the overworld! So here's what World 1 of SMW: Return to the Mushroom Kingdom now looks like.

4 things:
1. The orange border came out all scratchy in the animation for some reason.
2. I realised after I made the GIF, that I left out the water path between 3 and 4.
3. Most other animations you see here are from SMA4.
4. Massive thanks to Bio for coding this!

Anyway, comments? Questions? Suggestions?

Nah, not really. It uses 8 frames, which is exctly the limit.

No, every animation (except the grass) is 4 frames, and none are resused.

@Tatrion: Oh, right, yeah, I added the smoke, I fixed the coast around the Yellow Switch, and I added the paths I left out. Well at least now I can animate the quick-sand level tile in the desert, and the fire and lava in World 8.

That's exactly what I've been wondering. From what I remember, coryomgwtfbbqlol1337, you were a n00b a very short time ago, and I can't remember you doing anything particularily amazing since then. You obviously don't have enough experience to write such an advanced tutorial... not decently anyway. Wasn't asdf (a pro in the SMW hacking field) writing a tutorial too? Hell, even check the bio in his profile. If I didn't know how to use ExGFX, I would rather trust asdf's tutorial before I even look at yours.

Haha, yeah I forgot about that one. _¬ I made that when I was bored a few weeks ago, and only stuck it into a copy of World 1-2 so I could show it to a few people on MSN. It will be in a far more appropriate place when I get 'round to it.
