Posted on 07-16-06 02:38 AM, in How often do you eat ramen? Link
I haven't eaten Ramen since I heard quite a pro-Darwinist story.

Basically (and this is not for the faint of heart) a friend of mine works with the emercency center at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Some kids have the brilliant idea to get really hammered and then eat some Ramen. But oh no, they are without an easy drunkproof way to make boiling water so they use the microwave. Appoximately five minutes and several drinks later he takes it out and stumbles.

As my friend Chris arrives he sees Ramen soup and vomit on the wall and floor of the hall. This kid had spilt his Ramen soup on his...genitals. Not only that but he was shaved pretty close to the skin so he ended up with second and third degree burns on his package. Spilling the Ramen on himself caused him and a friend to vomit. All of them were underage, too.

Pee-Wee's Playhouse is a lot of things but it is most certainly not catered specifically to children.

The DVD's came out roughly a year ago but no one really cared. I'm glad Adult Swim is putting it in syndication once again. Now that young teenagers are viewing Pee-Wee, an 80's icon of mythic proportions, perhaps they will better understand why 20 something's are the way we are.

I mean who didn't love Tim Burton's initial film Pee-Wee's Big Adventure?

Excellent site; thank you very much good sir.

For years I have been searching for the songs from Ecco the Dolphin and Sonic the Hedgehog in 'mp3' format. The cartoons certainly bring back memories too.

This show just keeps getting better. I love the Hunter S. Thompson reference in the third episode and Hank's character is getting better.

(Attempting to avoid implications of sounding gay) I miss Brock's flowing hair. It added a lighter side to him but he's still cool.

Yes, the eighties most definitely had the most attractive array of cinematic adventures. The Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones movies, the aforementioned The Wizard, *batteries not included, Flight of the Navigator, and Stand By Me, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, The Empire Strikes Back, The Breakfast Club...and the list obviously goes on.

Batman also started a return in comic-book movies which surged through the early 90's with some quality flicks.

Posted on 07-16-06 03:10 AM, in Metallica = best Metal band ever? Link
Best metal ever? Yes and no. If you asked this question in 1998 I'd have concluded with yes but now I am not so sure. Their self-titled album (the black one) remains a hall of fame worthy album although Metallica fans don't agree it's their best one. Maybe they did sell out when they made it but so what? You wouldn't except lots and lots of money for doing what you've been doing for years? And what's wrong with playing the corporate game once in a while if it advances your life in a positive way? I liked Load too but that's beside the point.

Final answer: no.

They're good for probably two weeks. Dicks...with Time Machines was good.

The show just feels like Jackass in that I can't really say it's a "show" but rather an amalgamation (or amalg-animation if you will) of moderately comical short clips. Yay for Seth Green but it's time to move on.

Wii will change the future. Wii will challenge your dexterity more than any other system. Wii will be emotionally gratifying. Wii, put simply, will be.

It is the only one I plan on purchasing within the next 18 months (between the Wii, PS3 and Xbox360). I already chose the DS over PSP or more specifically the DS Lite so I mise (mise=might as well) stick with Nintendo.

Posted on 07-16-06 03:52 AM, in Thought on abortion? Link
Apathy is certainly not a stance on abortion nor is refusing to answer.

Anyway, I am against it. My grandmother died shortly after giving birth to my own mom. The doctors advised for an abortion but my grandma refused. Basically I wouldn't be here today had she agreed. The way I see it, it is selfish to abort at the first sign of danger.

There're many postulates and such that come up often. For example, brain development does begin until week seven. No brain no person right? Call me old fashioned but one recieves a soul at the moment of conception. Whether or not you believe in souls is irrelevent. Maybe you can replace the word soul with "subconsious". Either way conception begins without the brain but rather it begins with the will. And will is everything.

I don't condone it. I've never done it. I think I never will. I wouldn't stop you from doing it unless you are someone close to me and I knew you had the habit.

I wouldn't mind if they made it legal so long as it's controlled somewhat.

Media piracy is a felony but...come on. Who here is innocent of that?

Five years ago I was a member of the Final Fantasy VII Citadel which was notorious for moving from place to place. It finally ended up at an Acmlm board. I like the change enough to switch over to Acmlm's main message board as Ruby Razor. Then I didn't post for several years and apparently this board has also had many changes both virtually geographic and cosmetic.

I don't have a digital camera, a cell phone, or any recent pictures of myself. If you've ever seen "Blow Out" on Bravo just imagine that guy but younger and smarter.

I'm going to PAX 06. I went to last years PAX--it was great. If you don't already read Penny Arcade then I recommend it.

My Brain Age is 20 and has been for 7 days now so i must be doing somethuing right. Anyway, I own PS2, XBox, GameCube, Nintendo DS Lite, NES, Sega Genesis and of course a PC but I only really play MODO and Diablo II on it.

I usually don't spam with 'welcome' posts like this one but I figure since you guys made a thread with the sole purpose of introducing people I gave it a shot in the dark.

MTV - I'd rather not rant about MTV because I'm sure it's been done before. And who would read it anyway?

Suffice it to say that MTV is not unlike pure unadulterated evil.

This is obviously rediculous.

"The party also said everybody should be allowed to go naked in public and promotes legalising all soft and hard drugs and free train travel for all."

I am sure this was the product of some bet which took place on April 1st. Either that or a joke that was rejected by the Family Guy writing staff. People should just abide by the "Divide by two and add seven" rule. Divide your age by two and add seven; if s/he is younger than that and you are still interested you should seek professional help.

Please don't change the subject. This is about Scientology and not your personal vendetta against organized religion.

These people need help. They probably do not want help and would even go out of their way to avoid it but it undeniably a not unlike a cult environment. Breaking that method is very hard especially if it's guarded by a wall of well paid lawyers. Giving up on them, however, is perhaps the only thing worse than simply ignoring them. Think of them as Mormons except more demeaning (nothing against Mormons, they are very nice people).

Well I once knew a man from Nantucket...

I'll try my hand at a funny story. I once went on a roadtrip with a couple friends and on our way back I fell asleep at the wheel and crashed the car on the highway. Wait that wasn't very funny. Let me give this one another try. Ok so there I was with my pants around my ankles...

Seriously (and playfully) though I work at Hollywood Video. Basically we're rivals with Blockbuster video. It's the dead of winter and there are many inches of snow on the ground...good packing snow too. Anyway a coworker and I went to Blockbuser after a shift (they close at 1am we close at mignight) to pay them a little visit. We get some good snowballs ready. I drive up in front of the store and leave to car running for a quick getaway. We bust on in and I'm about to reach for one to throw when I see a friend of mine. I ask him "What's up?" and talk for like 2 minutes and I forget about the snowballs...they melted in my coat and it looks like I wet myself. Man...embarrassing.

Never played the emulated version. I recorded myself beating the NES game in 2 hours 30 minutes though. Every level, nearly every toad house (I'm pretty sure you can't get every toadhouse in the game), hammer brother, at least one of every item, every match game, 2 white ships and I defeated King Koopa with a Tanooki Suit.

Haven't played the game in a couple weeks so I doubt I could do that again. Congrats on your saved version though...must be nice to not have to restart when you accidently kick your Nintendo.
