I was going to question the possibility of that, but then remembered the 2nd area of wet dry world - with the houses.

And on that same topic, do those houses in that underwater town have a specific object set? Or, for example in a future version of the editor, would it be possible to place them into Bob-Omb Battlefield if I wanted to?

I'm just wondering if it would actually be possible to create that outdoors town that donrariv talked about.

Man, Goldeneye is a masterpiece compared to the utter wankery that was Die Another Day

But yeah, hopefully the new film coming soon will eliminate any memories of the bland Brosnan era, it certainly looks that way so far.

What about Snakes on a Plane?

But yeah, it would help if we had some idea of how exactly it has to be similar. Do you mean in terms of plot/general theme? Or in terms of direction/cinematography? Or the way the various plot points are set up throughout the film?

What the fuck?

Sorry for the language, but have you noticed that no editors have yet been released? Therefore, no one has been able to make any hacks? It's pretty simple if you think about it. Very, very few people will even consider attempting to hack a 3D N64 game without an editor.

And the only two N64 editors in existance - for F-Zero X and Mario 64 - are very close to release. As far as I know, the F Zero editor will be able to edit everything.

Mark my words, as soon as these editors are released - the entire N64 rom hacking scene will grow, and there will be hacks-a-plenty. Many people will use them.

Yes...with an editor thats taken YEARS to develop.

These hacks don't just magically appear, you know. It takes incredible hard work and a long, long time spent to do these things.

Definately, but its still way too complicated for most hackers to even start to comprehend. I know I would never be able to create an editor for a 3D game, mostly because I suck at maths.

...Also, incase anyone hadn't realised - the F-Zero X editor thats being developed by BGNG (hoping I got his name right there) is being released on the same day as the Mario 64 editor by VL-Tone = 21st June.

Ok...I'll try not to go off topic in this thread again.

Same. And also, theres no need to worry if the editor is delayed a few days anyway...afterall, BGNG's F-Zero X track editor is being released on the 21st. So we're getting 2 N64 editors on pretty much the same day/week.

Now that is pretty awesome, and we should think ourselves lucky.

According to BGNG on the MFO forums, both editors are being released on the 23rd.

So it will be two additional days before the editors hit internet shelves.

No, it's the fact you called them freaks. Stop trying to dig yourself out of it.

And...seriously, WTF?! You're better at Rom Hacking? Seriously, stop with these comments. They did NOT steal the information/data from you, thats the stupidest thing i've ever heard. I doubt the hack author even knows about this board.

And anyway, if this hack has reminded me of one thing apart from the fact that the japanese own at everything, it's how absolutely shit I am at playing SMB. I died repeatedly on the first level.

He was banned before for clicking on the 'DELETE BOARD' button...But for some insane reason, he's back.

I know I clicked on that button too...and I'm back, but without sounding bigheaded or anything, I do see myself as a decent contributing member to this board.

Something which no one can really say for Insectduel. The fact that he edited his post to get rid of that racist comment really shows his lack of any common sense whatsoever.

I mean, really. You just can't make comments like that and expect people to not take offence. Calling an entire nation of people 'freaks' is just asking for trouble. And it's incredibly offensive too.

Man, those screens look awesome. You definately have some talent with GFX there! I particuarly like the kind of pastel shaded feel you have given everything, sort of like Yoshi's Island.

It's crazy how for 99% of the time this SMW Hacking forum is complete and utter crap (recent example - the recent thread about Xkeeper) when every so often great work like this is showcased.

If only all threads had this kind of content. But maybe thats wishing for too much.

So, yeah. Any bets on how long this thread is going to last?

It's been pretty entertaining so far. If only it had one of those 'YOU FAIL' images by Smallhacker, it would be perfect.

I'm pretty sure its going to be a lot more complicated than that. A 3D game editor is a lot more complex than one for, SMW for example.

And please, maybe you should use another background. I had to highlight your text to read some of that.

How about Snakes on a Plane?

...but seriously, it would help if you at least offered some more information, or at the very least some screenshots. The best name I can come up with from that information you gave is Super Mario OMG Ultimate Hard Castle FTW.

And surely, shouldnt you be able to think up a name by yourself?

How did you do this, exactly? It's pretty impressive.

And also - from what you said about how mapping commands are the same in every N64 game, does that mean that you could get a model for...say, a level from SM64 or Zelda and with a bit of work, put it into Goldeneye for example?

Or would the collision detection settings and everything be different?
