Are you sure about that?

lol at that.

What's really pissed me off is the fact that there is a folk band in the usa called the wyrd sisters. And they are sueing Phil, Jonny, Jarvis and the rest of the people involved in the music/film for ruining their careers.

NO-ONE...and I mean NO-ONE sues the radiohead. Even if its only 2 members It's still against any kind of humanity.

Im pretty sure it's Ice Man's hack. Or maybe I'm getting too tired, and his name is confusing me way too much in relation to the title of this thread

Ok, so here's an idea i've come up with.

After an extensive tidy up through the various cupboards in my room, I found a few consoles that I never actually use any more, and havent for the past 5 or so years, including a SNES, my first N64, a gameboy, a gameboy pocket and a GBA. Now, im kinda interested in starting working with electronics a bit more than I usually do, and I got an idea.

Would it be feasibly possible for me to take out the innards from a game boy, and wire it in a way that the SNES's controller inputs are linked to the game boy controls, and the sound/video is linked through composite (the snes's video output) to a tv, or such?

Basically, what I would like to achieve is a SNES, but a SNES that is essentially a game boy. Kinda like a super game boy, and yes I have one of those. But if this is possible for me to do, I would like to do it just for the experience it would give me.

So...is this an impossible idea? Or is it possible for me to do? And has anyone got any useful links/sites that I could make use of?

you have two main tasks--translate an SNES controller signals into GB control signals and translate the GB video output to TV instead of LCD. Fortunately, for you all the other hardware remains intact.

Probably you should start out finding what signals the SNES controller sends out and what signals the GB want from it's controller. Then, build a circuit that will do the translation. After that, you will want to find a way to get the SNES controller to sync with the gameboy--something I'm not sure how to do...

It should be something similar for the GB output to TV...

Yeah thats what I'm thinking of doing. But, I just cannot find any schematics or diagrams about the game boy's display connections, and how it relates to/how it can be linked through a composite signal. And the about the syncing, I never really thought about that before

EDIT - ok, I've found a schematic of the LCD display at http://home.hiwaay.net/~jfrohwei/gameboy/gameboy2.gif

And also found this bit of info here:

'Is it possible to somehow hook up a GameBoy to a TV?

It is possible and has been done. Many people have seen these
as the demo machines that are often found where GameBoys are sold.
These are no longer made but they were know as Demo Boy II's.

The main problem is that the horizontal sync in the GameBoy is
~9.2KHz where TVs require ~15.7KHz. This lower frequency sync can
possibly overheat & burnout components of a standard TV. So there
is no simple circuit for connecting a GameBoy to a TV.'

Does anyone know how it would be possible to overcome this problem?

Much better. Before it was a kind of distorted perspective, the fish looked bigger than mario

Now they look better, but they still look absolutely huge in comparison to the sea. Imagine being in that sea, and having one of those huge things coming up to you

Unless they're supposed to be giant fish. Which would explain a lot.

Already learning Z80, so learning more shouldnt be a problem

Didn't really estimate how much work this idea would result in, but I will carry on, determined, at least until I end up with a working console or a collection of useless circuitry.

Well, I didn't say that I date people new all the time for fun. I just kinda hate being alone/I usually feel kinda insecure. So after one relationship, I usually try to move on to another to avoid feeling lonely/etc It sounds lame, and I really shouldnt be like that. But hey.

Oh and everything is relatively sorted now. Me and Danni have decided its best not to talk to eachother for a bit, as we both need to concentrate on other people. Me and April have stopped talking completely, after she told me about a pretty fucking huge lie she said to me. The last time we arranged to meet, she couldnt make it because a family member was 'terminally ill' in hospital, and she had to visit them. Turns out that was a lie. She fucking went to a gig to see the doves with her mates. That has pissed me off so much. No one in her family were even ill.

But still. Me and my current girlfriend are totally fine now...so everything is ok. Which is good.

He is the ultimate. Definately one of the greatest electronic artists ever. Still cant believe he has over 100 hours of unreleased music which he left out of selected ambient works vol 2

And does anyone else know that Trent Reznor paid Aphex over $100,000 to remix these 2 nine inch nails songs, and he just reversed them, slowed them down, and recorded himself blowing down a straw and yawning over the top. He then bought a decomissioned tank with the money.

He also lives in a bank vault in london.

Richard D. James is fucking weird. But a genius.

Chris Cunningham's directing does rule. So disturbing. Especially windowlicker, and Rubber Johnny is pretty weird too.

Oh, and the dillinger escape plan's cover of come to daddy is pretty awesome too.

Well, most of that is probably true, im not the best when it comes to remembering stuff lol.

But he definately is yawning at the end of 'the beauty of being numb'. Have a look for yourself, its on the 26 mixes for cash album.

Then try it on something higher than "Agent"

The first time I got it, I played it through on Secret Agent.

Bad idea. But I still got through it all, same for 00 Agent mode. The only level that I really found hard was Control...protecting natalya from the guards was impossible for me.

I know how that feels, I never feel too great. On monday I fainted, and today I felt dizzy for most of the day. Yesterday, I went to school late, stayed there for 10 minutes, then just went home because i felt fucking awful.

Apparently I may have DVT. Which is worrying, seeing as my dad has it.
