If I remember correctly, that was Anvil that does that.

Im not certain - I've been sticking to FL Studio and Propellerhead Reason for the past few years, but I'm pretty sure.

Is there enough information throughout this thread to tell me how to use it when it is released in the beta version? Or mabe an FAQ. I was also wondering where to get a good SM64 rom, because I cant find one that works with the emulator, project64. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, but Rom Requests are NOT allowed on this board. Just advising you, as you seem like an alright guy...so try not to do it again.

If you read through the middle section of this thread onwards, you should find out all you need to know about the editor.

And from what I understand, theres no release date as of yet. VL-Tone will release it when he feels it is ready, and when he wants. And I dont think anyone should be pestering him about it.

I look at the updates in the journal from time to time, and the site seems to have disappeared. I'm not sure if the project was iced, shut down, or if the site is under construction or unpaid. This hack looks great, and I'd hate to see it disappear.

The hack had interesting ideas, though I don't know what happened to it. Last time I looked there, the project didn't look very active though.

Quest for Calatia is still very much active. The last I'd heard of it, (a couple of weeks ago), the guy doing it had finished the town (which caused him a whole load of problems, but he finished it anyway), and now he's working on the forest of Calatia with the new style pine trees he has inserted into the rom.

The hack is still coming along very nicely...just incredibly, incredibly slowly. But think of it this way - all that time and effort will not have gone to waste!

Posted on 07-22-06 09:23 AM, in Questions on Zelda 3 Music Engine Link
Over the past month or so, I've been messing around with the music editor in Hyrule Magic - basically replacing the music in the game with other music - for example, I recently replaced the dungeon theme with the Zelda 2 palace theme.

The thing is, there is a bit of a space issue. If I expanded the rom, would I be able to re-point the music data to be written at the end of the rom? I've already tried doing this using Lunar Expand and the CallLoop function in the HM music editor (which basically repoints the music data), but I cant input an address larger than 4 bytes to repoint the music to - eg. $FFFF is the limit. The free space at the end of the rom after being expanded starts at $100210. I may be doing something completely wrong here though - I havent worked with a hex editor for years.

Another thing I've been trying out is replacing the instrument samples used in the music with samples from other sources (eg. taken from other games, recorded myself from live instruments). This works, but I am restricted by the limitations - most samples have to be very short in length as there is a space issue. I'm wondering, is there any way to, just like what I want to do with the music data, repoint the samples to be stored at and accessed from the free space at the end of the rom after being expanded? Or is this impossible with the music engine used in Z3? If possible at all, this would greatly improve the music I can achieve with the editor.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Apparently, the music data is compressed. Correct me if im wrong, but HM decompresses it so it can be edited, then it recompresses the data before saving to the rom.

I recently downgraded my PSP from 2.6 to 1.5 using the new downgrader that uses the GTA exploits and accesses kernal mode.

And I use my psp pretty much all the time now. I rip movies from dvds, and play them using the PMP media player - and of course, I play loads of SNES and GBC games on it too.

An enemy like the Pouncer in Wario Land would be cool - it follows the walls nearby (like the sea urchin in SMW does), and kills you if you touch the spikes on its left/right and underside. However, you can ride it if you stand on top of it, to help you get across lava etc.

Aren't those icegoom's graphics? Apart from those, its a pretty bland/standard map. No offence, obviously.

Oh and it's 'professional'.

Haha. When I first saw Jesus, I thought it was Chuck Norris.

Oh well. Jesus is still good! And as said before, that is one awesomely awesome title screen.

I may get it on dvd the next time I go into town.

What I wanted to do a couple of weeks ago was do a kind of 'master quest' of Zelda 3. Something that wont take as much time to do as a complete makeover would, but would still be entertaining and challenging enough to be worth playing through.

However, I never actually got round to it. Hyrule Magic pretty much annoys the hell out of me. I'm also at a pretty bad creative low right now...it's affecting my film-making projects too. But yeah.

Any Zelda hack is a good hack. So keep up the good work.

The final boss (DK) is so so awesome.

I remember playing this game constantly back when I was younger.

I was stuck on 3-1 (the ship, I think) for literally about 2 years (no joke, i seriously was stuck on it for at least 2 years). Then I suddenly, out of pure frustration, realised how to finish the puzzle by throwing the enemy onto the spikes, and using it as a means of getting across.

That was the single most satisying point of all of my life. Fact.

I've got full-speed SNES emulation on my PSP. It is indeed awesome.

But you know what's more awesome?

The near-full speed GBA emulator that came out 2 days ago that was built from scratch, and soon enough will be pretty much flawless. Now THAT is awesome.

Playing Metroid Fusion and Kirby on the PSP full speed with an awesome screen is teh sex.

Man, this is awesome - good work.

From this, would there be a way to implement day/time-based events using this system? For example, like those that happen in Majora's Mask? That would be great.

And also, I think maybe its a good thing that time still goes when you're reading signs/talking. Makes it a bit more authentic IMO.

College doesnt start for another 2 weeks for me, but I already know my timetable:

1. Nothing
2. Nothing
3. Film Production
4. Nothing
5. Nothing

Move around 'Film Production' to a different time every day, and you have my timetable for a year.

But for the next two weeks, until I go back, my timetable is more like this:

1. Sleep until 12.
2. Eat.
3. Go out, meet with girlfriend, then meet about 50 people.
4. Buy Alcohol.
5. Get very drunk.
6. Injure myself while walking home.
7. Sleep/Restart list.

Right, I'm playing through this one again now. I'm at the ship right now.

Wow. I forgot about many of the worlds in this game - I think Airplane was my favourite one. Yet at the same time, the single most frustrating.

Although I'm not a very frequent poster on this board, I have been around since the original incarnation of the board started (eg. a long time ago). While it is true that I don't usually work on the hacking side of things that often (I occasionally mess around with Hyrule Magic/Lunar Magic and anything that interests me at the time), I do like to offer constructive criticsm on other people's hacks and programs, but due to the new approval system, I can't.

But yeah, if it's alright, I'd like to be approved. Afterall, I only want to be a helpful user on these boards.

Thanks.
