Originally posted by Celice I already knew that . But surely, if you take away all the complications and extra crap, a 3d model is a 3d model. Just like an area in Goldeneye is a 3D model, and an area in Zelda is a 3D model. Correct me if I'm wrong though. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 06-29-06 04:39 PM) |

Radiohead. Lost my ticket.
May be the final chance I'll ever get to see them aswell, if the rumours are true. |

My first N64 died a few years back, thanks to the dodgy Hitatchi plug that it was fitted with (many N64s in the UK were re-called back to nintendo for power adapter replacements).
My 2nd N64 still works though. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 06-30-06 01:49 PM) |

Mate, Banzai Bills aren't anything to be scared of.
Now - that clown in Wario Land 3, that is fucked up. Scared the hell out of me back when I was 12. EDIT - or was it 11? I cant remember - I got it when it first came out in 2000. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 07-02-06 05:17 PM) |

Metal has moved on so much from when metallica were in their prime - and it's branched off into so many different sub genres and experimentations that it's hard to define what metal really is now. If we're talking about the entire wide range of 'metal' then the greatest metal band could be anyone from the Dillinger Escape Plan, to Opeth, to Isis to Cult of Luna.
And just to be clear - Megadeth's 'Rust in Peace' > all metallica albums ever. For sure. Master of Puppets does come close though. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 07-04-06 11:41 AM) |

Man, you people are mean.
Being the nice bloke I am, I've just made a level for NintenDS to use in his hack. Heres a screenshot, I'll post the level later if he wants it: http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8509/newlevel2ul.jpg |

Here's a joke!
Whats worse than a ROM request? ......a portugese ROM request! But yeah. Pity I dont think theres anyone else who speaks it, who could tell him that it's not allowed. He probably couldnt (or didnt) read the rules either. edit - ah. I think chaos force has told him. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 07-04-06 12:26 PM) (edited by richyawyingtmv on 07-04-06 12:27 PM) |

Originally posted by witeasprinwow Heh. Too right. Dillinger is fucking awesome. The only band I can think of that can boast a firebreathing main vocalist! The Mars Volta have an amazing stage presence too. 10 people on stage at once now (12 if you include the occasional live appearances of Flea and John Frusciante) just giving everything their all. It's an amazing sight. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 07-07-06 11:23 AM) |

Originally posted by icegoom That is such a totally brilliant idea. DO IT! This hack does look absolutely amazing. I dont know about anyone else, but to me - this looks like something Nintendo would have come up with on the Game Boy Advance. It looks that good. And also - are you planning on editing the status bars, etc at all? It seems a bit of a shame that they're the same as the original SMW when everything else is so new and awesome. And then the only thing left stopping this hack from feeling like a completely new game would be the music. But we all know that's not going to change! haha. Hm. I havent heard about Ochimariou's hack for a while...it sure looks awesome though. All of them do, to be honest.
What would be nice is a bit of a progress update from each of the people working on a Z3 hack right now - simply because they're probably the hacks that i've been anticipating more than any other, and I'm sure other people agree with me! |

Originally posted by CeliceOriginally posted by richyawyingtmvOriginally posted by Doritokiller Haha. I just realised how stupid my reply was there. What I meant to say was that it runs 5 or so games, but only a couple run even averagely well. It was released with the Zelda games, but it can also successfully run SM64 and MK64, which I don't think was the intention of Nintendo. |

Without him, Pink Floyd would never have started and music would be very different today. Pink Floyd have been a significant influence and impact in the world of music since he formed the band back in the late 60's, and without them - as I said before - music today would be very different, as would many other aspects. Just think about how many bands would sound different or not even exist if pink floyd had never existed. It's just a little worrying that many people have never heard of him before. Anyway. To syd: shine on you crazy diamond! Time to listen to Piper at the Gates of Dawn as a bit of a tribute, methinks. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 07-11-06 01:28 PM) |

Originally posted by grudge1981 Before I got better at music, I used FL Studio's piano roll as a reference. I basically wrote the music on there first, then took a note of all the note names displayed at the side (Eg. C#5) as well as note lengths which are also displayed, then with a bit of work I could easily transfer my music over to the HM music editor. |

iGod, please. Stop it.
And back on topic, Surely when this editor comes out it's going to be pretty much less user-friendly than LM? At least for the first Beta version, anyway. I'm just scared of when its actually released that a hell load of noobs will show up asking repeatedly how to move walls and how to create 'doom worlds'. Meh. But I guess great things always have bad things that come with them. |

Originally posted by Celice Meh, I agree. This is the reason I'm glad BGNG hasn't released his F-Zero X editor to a wider audience - it would cause a whole load of trouble on this board. But, the bigger problem is that SM64 is a much more popular game, just like SMW is. So there's going to be a hell of a lot of newbies coming onto sites like this, with no previous rom hacking knowledge thinking they can do anything with the editor, when you just...cant. And even when you can, it's going to take seriously long, hard work and dedication. When I first got into Rom Hacking back in 2001-ish, I was under the impression that you could do ANYTHING with an editor. Then I realised the harsh truth - you cant. It takes a lot of hard, hard, hard work and knowledge to make a decent hack of a 2D game, let alone a 3D behemoth like Mario 64. Even with an editor to help. And thats something most of the people on this thread dont seem to understand. |
