Prinnyhero,
On the world map, was everytime you walked horizontal? In other words, in every time you failed to make Mario walk, was it on a horizontal path? |

Originally posted by Prinnyhero OK then, it looks you're using the impassable horizontal road. Anyway, tile #49 "E.-W. Road C" is impassable. You should go in and make sure you use tile #45 "E.-W. Road A" instead, which is passable. Let's see if that works.... (edited by beneficii on 03-22-06 02:46 AM) |

Originally posted by Prinnyhero I think it's so they can have an image of a road, but without Mario actually being able to go across it. If you open an unhacked ROM and look at World 1 to the left of the Start Space, you'll see tile #49, the impassable road. They just wanted to have a road there, but without Mario actually being able to pass it.
In the first question, I've seen that problem before. I figured it out, but I'm having trouble remembering how I fixed it and what was causing it. I remember that putting certain objects in your level not supported by the tileset would cause something similar. And I know there's some complication between whether the game considers an object 3-byte or 4-byte. As for objects ending up on other levels despite not putting many in, I'm afraid I can't help you there. In other words, take what I said with a grain of salt, but perhaps it could be helpful as you go along the process. Also, try reading the help file that comes along with the editor. Where's hukka when you need him? (edited by beneficii on 03-22-06 03:07 AM) |

LOL, it's cool man. But anyway, I checked Webster's dictionary for the definition of libations, and you, Ziff, could very well have been referring to:

Bring 'em on! Anyway, I'm the new mod here, helping to keep an eye on things. This is a forum where people can easily get pretty passionate, and while passion is usually good, it can sometimes lead to things like flaming each other and forgetting the debate entirely, which isn't cool. I'll help Ziff keep that sort of thing down on here. (edited by beneficii on 03-22-06 10:24 PM) (restricted) | (restricted) |

Prinnyhero,

SMB3 Map Editor lets you add more Mushroom Houses, or edit stages, etc. Select the pointer you want to change, and press enter. Then go to Toad House on the left list, and pick the item selection you want from the right list. Read up on the SMB3 Map Editor Readme (distributed with SMB3MAP) for answers to your questions. The thing about the tower in World 5 (not 6) is also mentioned in the Readme. Read up then ask questions!

Originally posted by Jomb I agree. I think many lives get ruined from marijuana not from the effects of the drug itself, but from the cops throwing people in jail. I agree 100% that freedom should be the default state of affairs and the burden of proof should be on those advocating outlawing or continued outlawing, rather than on those trying to keep legalized or legalize.

Discussion of alcohol on this thread is fine, as long as it's still tied back into smoking marijuana. If the discussion diverges too much, however, such as discussing the legal age of drinking without tying it back into smoking marijuana, then I ask that somebody create a new thread to discuss just that. This has been a good thread, so I don't want to have to close it. |

The way I ended up learning how to code with the ASM 6502, in case anyone's interested, was by using a resource that took you step by step in creating a simple maze game; this allowed you to see a real practical application of the code, allowed you to familiarize yourself with the code, and be encouraged that you can do stuff with the code. Of course, I expanded on the concept by adding collisions and sprite animation and even a little bit of sound when I made my BKG ROM:

http://nesdev.parodius.com/bkg.zip I can't seem to find the resource anymore, but perhaps one of us could make a resource like that to help out newbs. IMO, there should be such resources for other systems as well. Hang in there! |
