I wouldn't mind PETA *quite* as much if they didn't have to be so f*cking controversial and confrontational all the time.

Did any of you ever see the disgustingly suggestive "Santa isn't coming this year" PETA billboard featuring St. Nick peering down into his pants? (It had to do with milk causing ED or something stupid like that.) That was right here in Spokane, and it was a huge embarassment. Whoever approved the thing deserved to be shot. Can you imagine having to explain something like that to your kids?

Putting 120V transformers inside consoles is just asking for trouble. Aside from the heat issues, there's also the fact that the entire console becomes unusable if the thing dies, meaning you either send it in for repairs or buy a new one, neither of which is going to be cheap.

Nintendo, on the other hand, has been smart enough to use external transformers for every single console they've ever released. Not only is it quicker and cheaper to replace an external transformer, it also results in a smaller, lighter, cooler-running console, and a greatly reduced fire hazard.

I didn't talk directly to YOU about it, I've just mentioned it time and time again since this forum was opened. I said in my last post that I was going to start cracking down on offenders, and...well, here we are.

I'll go ahead and approve you, since you admitted your mistake and apologized for it, but perhaps in the future you'll remember to read things a little more thoroughly. I didn't spend the better part of a night writing all that just for people to quickly skim over it.

I've always used ordinary extension cords. They're super-cheap, and hold up to two wall warts (or even two warts and an ordinary plug, depending on how big the warts are). They are kinda long, but provided you know how to use wire cutters and electrical tape, that can be fixed.

I really do wish more companies would switch to inline "brick" transformers though, especially for computer equipment. Wall warts make very little sense now that virtually everyone uses power strips...
