Yup; Everything works exactly like the original.
So, I finally got in a new twist, thanks to StephenUK for the heads up on how to make the monitor breakable and jman for telling me what was wrong with my code. Pretty much, when you're fast enough ($A00 speed or higher, AKA when you have the peel-out animation on while running), any monitor you run into will break on contact. Pretty cool, huh? =P |

Please post this on SWS2B. I've sent you an invite via PM.
I'd also like to note that I fucking love you. <3 |

S.N.N., I have the whole music format broken down. Check out http://info.sonicretro.org/ in the Sonic Community Hacking Guide and you'll find the Wiki version of my music editing guide. Should be sufficient for your purposes. =P

Kinda simple right now, but I'm sure you're working on that... Maybe you can try making some new level graphics. I've seen some good SMB hacks before, I'd have to suggest you learn how to dither well. If you can get that down, you'd be amazed how well your graphics will turn out with such a limited palette.
That is, if you decide to. |

Hey, Tweaker here. You may know me from various Sonic hacking boards... I've been here for a while, on and off contributing various excerpts of general ROM hacking knowledge to each of the forums every once in a while. I think I have a pinned hex guide in there too somewhere, dunno if that counts or not. =P
But yeah, dunno WHEN I'll post in there again, but it'd be nice to have to ability to when the time comes that I decide to take up an interest of either of the two hacking subjects. |

Yeah, that's me. I'm actually amazed how far that hack spread, it's really cool. =P

WHOA THAT'S A FAST MOTHERFUCKER I'm so visual. Stealth is also a cool guy for implementing this nifty feature. (edited by Tweaker on 08-30-06 10:56 PM) (edited by Tweaker on 08-30-06 10:58 PM) |

Only an older version of Delta will work with SonED... The other versions shift the ROM, so it's impossible for it to work without heavy modification.

You've got some nice rips going on, but they're only that - rips. Very few hacks have I seen around here that actually have ORIGINAL graphics. Sure, it's nice to import levels from other games and shit, but what real effort does that take? Then you end up releasing the shit to a "workshop" where any idiot with half a brain can use ANOTHER half-brained utility to slap the shit in, and call it a hack. Where's the effort in that?
Make some original graphics with those fancy HDMA effects, then I'll be impressed. You may have some original rips, but they're not your own work either way you look at it. It's simple work. |

A new one isn't availiable yet... It's more than likely gonna be a while before I release another version.

If you're trying to use an object to disable the select button at certain times, I think it may be as easy as simply continuously writing the "off" state to the address/register/whatever that holds the state of the select button. I'm able to do that on the Genesis, anyway... not sure if it works -entirely- the same in this case. Worth a try, anyway.

Words cannot describe on how many levels that this is wrong. So wrong.

SMD files, compared to BIN files, are byteswapped - this is why the text was garbled. I always advise against trying to hack SMD ROMs, since they're not an accurate representation of the original game data, compared to straight binary dumps that most ROMs are distributed as.
With that said, I guess one could find the addresses in the BIN from addresses in the SMD by going forward a byte at even addresses, and back a byte at odd ones... It may be the other way around, however; I'm not entirely sure at the moment. |

The legit IP bans are still in place, right? |

I'd like to put forward the proposition of making the "multiple account posting" shit an optional feature, and only for cool people. Sorta like approval, but not, and at Xk's discretion. Everyone wins! And since it'd be optional, it's your own fault if you get haxed.
EDIT: Another possibility would be to allow "account linking," where you can link multiple accounts through your profile (ala AIM) and choose which one via a drop-down box which one to post with. That's actually a pretty good idea, now that I think of it. Wanna try that? =P (edited by Tweaker on 11-13-06 08:53 PM) |

Wouldn't it be a better idea to make all "clone" accounts require manual validation? This way, if someone registers a spam account, you can manually delete it, and if the account's actually legit you can pass it through. Seems reasonable to me, anyway. |
