On any object (preferably invisible) change the behavior code to 1300 4770 and the parameters to 0000 00## , ## being the number of Goombas times 4. For more fun you can add 1 or 2 to that number to get large or small Goombas.

Star Chomp. Just add behavior code 1300 478C and parameters 0066 0000 to an object. Whatever object you attach the behavior to becomes the head. I used a star.

In the sprite behavior table at 0xEc7E0 you can find a lot of behaviors. Don't edit the table (inside the checksum). Just add them to 0x24 objects already found in the level. But be careful when changing behavior data. Some behaviors load other objects. If the loaded object is outside the data loaded for that level it will freeze the game when you get close.

(All numbers are in HEX.)


Jeez that is awesome. I still can't figure out how to do that. Whenever i do it it screws up the game... BAD... but any way, (this is supposing that you added a chomp, so bassically two chomps in the level) do the chain chomps, when freed, leave at the same time and head to the gate holding the star or would just that chomp that you freed do it.

There is a thread for this... But anyway what hex editor are you using. That actually can make all the difference. And also don't place posts calling yourself a newb. I didn't when i first came and i blended right in. PS. Edit it out of the first post, it will make you look better.

If your deperate enough, PM me and i'll give you the site. Truly guys, I'm a noob simpathiser... These guys are the future of rom hacking anyway so we should help them in any way we can. Tahu, your also right about building up his skill level in GS M64, it will sort of help him or at least get him more intrested. And I also suggest trying to use the simple hex edit document of music/game terrain by Jens the composer (Prince Kassad for simple music edit).

hey guys, this might be considered a spam but id like to thank you all for not flaming the newbs that came in and shut down the thread. I know we are all pissed but lets hope Prince kassads rules (thank god for you, your a beast) keep the newbs at bay.

Back on topic, we should post VL tones posts here (at least the important ones) and I like the wiki page, I'll add stuff if i can like the video link (with VL's Permission of course) once again thanks guys, we'll make this thread better somehow.

yeah your right, the vid was there. my bad , I still might add stuff , and yes you really should post VL's posts, don't wait for free dos to say yes or no just do the important things, like editor updates, or posts explaining what it can do.

P gad - is the rom your working with compressed or decompressed? and hex editor are you using? for some reason, my stuff won't work and I just want to make sure im doing stuff right or using the right rom/tools.

When your done with the game you should change the mario sprite ( i never liked the snes smb1 sprite) but over all the game idea sounds good (200+ wow...) and the shots look great. Especially can't wait for the new mario power up !

Looks good, but shoudn't you wait for the game to come out so you can get the story line?
People are gonna complain if you screw something up in the plot. and when it does come out youll have to change everthing around again to fit the plot. Im not discouraging you but you should wait so picky people don't flame you for screwing up. Hope you take my advice. Good Luck!

The less the news is spread about SM64 hacking and Vl Tone's editor, the less noobs are drawn to the board. The wiki is enough. Unless it would be helpful to VL or SM64 hacking then i think we should leave things alone.

Would it be possible to put the "play as" GS codes into the game? If it's possible then we could use the earlier dicussed model editing to fix yoshi because he's messed up in the GS code.

Thats kinda being done... not exactly... but OOT is being put ito 2D using the sprites. So in a way it is being done... sort of...
