Seriously now. It should become a mandatory requirement that in order to get approved, you know what a hex editor is and you don't say stupid things like needing "Shockwave Studio" to hack.

Theres plenty of websites out there that tell you the real truth about ROM hacking and how it isn't all "Level Editors and Simplicity". A simple google search would suffice and show you more then what you need to know.

If you understand something like this:
LDA $3000
STA #$45
(I don't even understand it fully, but I have an idea)
Then you are ready to start learning how to hack games and things like SSB. Learn more about hacking (and how hard it is to even hack a 3D game) and then come back to us. Theres an IRC channel called #rom-hacking on irc.esper.net, join it and ask questions to the experts. I gaurentee that after getting all the minimum required knowledge of ROM hacking that you will say "Screw this." and give up or rely on Level Editors for the rest of your life. It happens to 85% of us, (it's even happened to me) and it will most likely happen to you.

ROM hacking is not an easy thing. You aren't doing what the original game makers had to do. Your going through their after-processed code and rewriting it. You can only go so far, there are limitations unlike some ASM hacks have led you to believe.

In short. Dont ask about hacking N64 games. Dont ask about anything ROM hacking until you have read at least 10 documents on it.

Heh... Thats more of the negative of the PM I sent him but still repeating what I said. Anyway this has been done. He has been told he can't hack N64 games yet until he actually learns how to hack NES.

Yeah the Panasonic Q came out right in the middle of Gamecubes great game drought... and nobody even new about it cause it was only in Japan (also Europe I think... Correct me If wrong).

Colbert was wrong. When you emulate something you get your favorite game company pissed at you.

I found a few emos cutting themselves in the bathrooms back in 8th grade. the same year, a kid in 7th grade kid went around on AIM chat rooms claiming he was stalking students from my school and planning to kill them. And If you guys remember the Virginia/DC sniper shootings, well my school was under police watch for a few weeks until things calmed down. And too sum it all up, the roof over our cafeteria caved in one winter. I had a pretty fun 8th grade. Now nothing happens at highschool.

Earthbound NES and SNES are great, thought the first one is much harder yet so much funnier. The mere fact that you get to beat up a hippie is well worth the time to get it.

Ristar was kinda like the "we won't sucumb to the SNES just yet" sorta' thing. Kinda like a last bang to show that SEGA wasn't all that bad. I think it kind of showed the better side of SEGA with this game.

The guys at my gamestop are amazing. They don't complain about what you are buying. If they know someone's buying a crappy game they don't outright say it sucks but they ask they if they are entirely sure that they wanted to buy it. I remember them doing that when I went and bought Sonic Heroes. If you ask what they think about a game they will speak their mind though.

Cause for some reason alot of assholes end up working there. I got lucky and have some nice guys and I guess Thexare does too. But I have been to some pretty bad ones where I got blasted for buying some stuff for gamecube.

I used to drive miles just to get to my nearest Funcoland. That is until the store was taken over by gamestop (This is my first gamestop asshole expirience).
But then Gamestop opened up around the corner form my house so now I don't have to take a trip to get to one anymore.

Jaws for nes... all I could remember was dropping bombs on jelly fish and I could never remember the whole shark thing. I eventually narrowed the list down to water themed titles and happened upon Jaws. I now have it and I am unhappy that the games is harder than it was when I was a kid.

(I have that problem stated in the previous scentence with SMB3 also... I could get a bunch of flutes as a kid. one in the first level by ducking under the white block, one somewhere in a fortress and another somewhere else... Thats how I would get to the last world and die)

I know this board frowns upon Youtube videos but I felt this was different. This is funny but also quite inovative. have a look.
