Flea markets are a good source, also. A lot of times there are vendors who don't sell at such things full time but only do it once in a while to get rid of things.

You can get games and action figures and whatnot for nice prices this way a lot of the time.

Garage/yard sales are usually worth spending 5-10 minutes in driving and browsing as well.

Yikes.

Maybe you can still find an official top loading NES somewhere. Last time I went into a Vintage Stock they were teh cheap.

I replaced my oldschool NES as soon as they came out and have been thankful for it ever since.

Posted on 02-06-07 03:55 AM, in I got unlimited access to the rock saws! Link
I fabbed out a couple of things on the rock saw today. They're both still rough (the knotwork in granite isn't anywhere near completion.)

The ankh is cut from opal or jasper or chert or whatever you want to call a given chunk of hydrated silica. It is translucent and looks pretty cool when held up to the light. I plan to use the rest of the rock I cut that slab from to do something that will take advantage of that property.
It's still kinda rough and needs to be ground down until the lines are smooth and it's totally symmetrical... but not a bad start for 30 minutes' work cutting and polishing.

The knotwork is going to be a simple triad knot bound by a circle. It still needs quite a bit of work, but I was only able to do so much on the saw. All of the interior cuts had to be made with a diamond bit and my dremel. I ate several bits before I had the bright idea to submerge the whole project and cut underwater. I still need to get some decent bits with diamond or carbide sintered on rather than just held on by adhesive.
The granite is also a lot harder to cut than anything I've worked with before. I thought about using some Llanite that I got on my last geology trip (it's a very striking and unique granite) but it's even harder. That'll have to wait until I get some better equipment.

Anyway, I'm guessing at this point you've skipped over most of my text and want to see pics =P

So I made this from whatever I had laying around the house. It's not much, and was a breeze after making a full maille shirt... but I thought it was a neat little project and if nothing else I figured out a good way to attach maille to leather and that twisted rings were kinda cool.

The part that took the longest was twisting all the wires that make the twisted rings. I did that all by hand.

I hate people who steal letters >8(
I used to have to find ways to make letters look like other letters and/or cut letters up to make new ones because people kept stealing certain ones.

Meh.

Unless it's really good sex (which I suppose depends upon your current mate,) sex ranks behind other pleasures in my life like good food and restful sleep.

I merged my game with Nick's. It added a few things to that game. I think that's as far as I can go with it for now.

Posted on 02-06-07 01:09 PM, in I dont get why the wii is selling so good Link
My mom and her man-friend LOVE my Wii.
And when we have family gatherings everyone wants to play. Same when I have friends over. Everyone can get into the action. Using the wiimote like you would a tennis racket or golf club or whatever is natural appeals to a lot of people. The controls tend to be pretty intuitive.

You don't have to be a 'gamer' to enjoy the Wii. And for sports game fans it's a dream come true.

The graphics might not be Gears of War, but uh... gameplay over graphics 4 evar?

The much lower price point doesn't hurt either, though they do kill you on the cost of all the different remotes, and the virtual console games are WAY more expensive than they should be.

Well, given what you just said... would not him purring while rubbing himself all over you make you feel uncomfortable?

In fact, I think I'm going to have to instate an across the board no-purring rule whilst administering me snuggles... unless you're a really cute girl. This will cover all the bases.
