Sometimes the laser surgery has complications, especially with very old people... but all in all it's quite safe and is above and beyond previous technologies.

The jury's still out on whether or not I'll have it done on my left (dominant) eye to seal some holes in the retina... so I'm gonna keep thinking that laser surgery is 100% effective =P

Sometimes at the end of a shower I'll turn off the hot water, cringe in anticipation, scream, and then try to stand there and separate my mind from the cold.

If nothing else it's a good mental exercise and a good way to wake yourself up.

Usually if I do 'alcohol x' and 'carbonated beverage y' I go Jager and root beer. Don't knock it until you try it =P

I was bitten on the arch of my foot by a brown recluse (it was in my shoe.) It rotted out and was all gangrenous and nasty. I had a scar for years...

I've been bitten quite a few times by less dangerous spiders. Last time was the last time I slept outside in my hammock at my old apartment. I got three big nasty bites on my back. They looked really bad but my apartment manager mixed up some weird voodoo salve to put on them and it worked wonders.


...I spaz and whimper and cry like a schoolgirl when I get a spider on me. It's my one weakness. Besides kryptonite, anyway.

I see widows all the time, but I don't worry about them as much because they're not nearly as fast or aggressive as a pissed off recluse. And they don't tend to wander away from their nests. The brown recluses in my workshop at my dad's place kinda defy the norm. They grow bigger than average and don't seem to be shy in the least.

At least the place is full of dirt-daubers to keep them in check. I hate wasps of all sorts, but have an uneasy alliance with with those little, more mildly-tempered black ones... Anything that captures spiders and imprisons them paralyzed for their larva to feed upon is ok in my book...

We'll see if this pans out. If it actually gets released it could be really sweet. I hope it gets done well.

I'm more anxious to see the animated Dragonlance film though. I'll be all kinds of pissed if they don't choose a good art style and don't get the voice acting right.
Bad voice acting can really kill a movie... like Liam Neeson's Aslan in Narnia. That almost totally killed the movie for me.

I've had to live out of my car before, it pretty much sucks ass.
But hey, if nothing you want comes along, find a job flipping burgers or cleaning septic tanks or anything for a little while just to build up a little cash. That'd go a long way toward helping you get wherever you're gonna end up.

I hope you can get the truck fixed soon and on the cheap. Keep us posted. If you get any deeper in the shit, maybe some of us who can afford to could western union you a little cash or something.

I think that even here in the South voting will go more by party lines than by the race issue. Sure, the dems would lose some of the white vote that would normally vote democratic, but not too much, I think. The party issue has become such a divisive issue that I believe it'll largely overshadow racism.
