None of the Ultima games do that. Fights aren't in 1st person either...

While we're talking about Ultima though... Ultima VII for PC. Best Game Ever? Very possible.

mmmm....

I don't dig it.

I think I prefer the "Chrono *insert word here*" to "Chrono Trigger: *insert title here*"

And I have to reiterate: I'd rather see a remake of the original than a sequel.

CATEGORY ACRES
FOOD 4.9
MOBILITY 2.2
SHELTER 9.4
GOODS/SERVICES 10.6
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 27

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 6.1 PLANETS.

Yeah... I don't necessarily buy all that. They do have thier vegan hippie propaganda slant in there somewhere.

I took it again but changed my answers to reflect living in the appartments that I used to live in and am about to move back to, and having my car back instead of the truck, which will be the case when I move, and I got a total footprint of 14. But they're not factoring in cubic footing or the fact that a lot of product comes from the sea or underground, so thier system is seriously flawed in favor of thier propaganda.

You start really looking into the schools. Try to find people to talk to that go, either on the net or through people you know. You could probably even call the university and have them set you up with the number for thier SGA, who could help you with that. Visit the campuses if at all possible.

If you have any particular field of study in mind, find out about that program at each school.
Apply to at least three of them. Be sure to apply for scholarships, because not all schools apply you for them automatically. That made the difference for me being offered a full ride at UT Dallas and not one at UT Arlington. I didn't go to Dallas because I didn't wanna move to the city by myself and they didn't focus on the programs I wanted...

And try to apply for scholarships as early as possible. Before Spring is over, surely. I'd apply in January or February. If the schools are in state, do your federal and state student aid stuff right at the beginning of the year too.

Okay. Registration nightmare is behind me. First day of classes is behind me. I'm seriously considering saying "fuck it" to my swearing off of alcohol and heading over to the Sundown tonight for a seriously cold and delicious pitcher of Newcastle Brown.

Who thinks I should do this?

It would probably depend on how I was feeling at the time. A dollar I would give back.

$100? I dunno. I'd feel guilty. But I'm also so broke I can't afford books for 2 of my classes this quarter. So if I thought I could get away with it I might keep it even if I felt awful about it. I really need the book for my Stats class so I can do the homework.

I didn't like the DS Lite. I played one in Wal-Mart and it was way too small for my hands. It would hurt to play it for very long, and it would be hard to use in the first place. Meh.

I've always thought someone should make a nice, clean, oldschool metal version of Hell's Bells. I use the descriptors because I hate death metal and nu-metal. But a good metal version would be sweet. The original is great but it doesn't hit hard enough.

I'd have to say that Pretenders and Fembots were the worst ideas ever. I mean, come on. Giant robots hiding in human or monster looking shells for disguise? The idea of making "female" Transformers for equality sake as if robots have a gender in the first place?

I use one of those new-fangled vibrating five-bladed razors. It's great. A lot less irritation. I shave my head at least once a day and it hasn't let me down yet.

I disagree about replacement heads being inexpensive. They really do cost a lot more than they should, no matter what brand you use. But dull razors are no fun and disposables suck.

Though, I don't really see what the big deal about shaving your pubes and then later shaving your face would be... I mean, you wash the razor while you're using it anyway... and... well, I don't know about you but I WASH regularly in the shower, so um...

*edit* Wite, I trim my beard with scissors. Precise and easy. They'd take way too long to really do anything else with, though.

Posted on 09-24-06 08:13 PM, in Need some help and some general input on a design. Link
Hey guys!

Yeah, I've been conspicuously absent since school started. Between that and family stuff and work and all I've been pretty freakin busy. Hopefully things will settle down a bit soon.

Anyway, on to the point of this thread.

I'm going to Bossier on Tuesday because a friend of mine wants me to tag along. She's getting a tattoo.

Now, I've been wanting to get my third tat for quite a while. I wanted something that has meaning. I decided to go with the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom from the Ultima games. The codex symbol represents 8 virtues and 3 principles. See the wiki for the symbol and for a description of the virtues.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codex_of_Ultimate_Wisdom
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtues_of_Ultima

I wanted to change the design and make it my own while having it still retain all of its meaning. I like knotwork, and am proud of my Celtic heritage. This is the only design I was able to come up with, crudely done in MS Paint and The Gimp.

This is going to be permanent, so I'm asking for input and also for those of you who are better artists and more skilled at drawing or using graphics programs to see what you can come up with or do with what I have.

This is gonna be permanent so the more I have to take in with me the better.

I'm growing E. coli in a petri dish right now for a biology lab. I'll be looking at it under the microscope tomorrow night. Fun stuff.
