I don't work out much these days. Haven't gone to the gym in about half a year. I'm a bit out of shape and it sucks. I need to get back into good habits.

I'm 5'9.5" and about 160 pounds. I'm certainly not flabby, but I don't have a lot of definition anymore and three miles would kill me.

When I'm in decent shape I usually run 2 miles every couple of days and do 150 push-ups and anywhere between 600-1000 crunches a night, depending on how sore I am. For my upper body I do the total gym and then curls with barbells untill my arms hurt.

In high school I ran track and cross country. The 2 mile is my favorite run.

Christmas ruined me though. Too much food and laziness. For the past several years I've depended on horribly unhealthy eating habits to keep the weight off. Not that I really have weight to lose. I'm seriously considering getting some counselling for my bulimia, but I hate shrinks and think that 75% of psychology/pshychiarty is bullshit...

I hate and despise my laptop. I've had som many problems with it since I bought it...

DVD burner died. Motherboard died. Hard drive died. @%&^%@
@$%&@$%

My best friend bought a comparable HP about 7 months after I got mine and the sonofabitch has a numpad on it and weighs about 2.5 pounds less. It cost less too. I was pissed.

Wite:
Umm... how old are her friends? Seems like a stretch to think they could be that oblivious. I hate stupid people.

But yeah, ask her out for coffee over the phone, nothing more. Chat with her and have good conversation there, and then ask her out for real. Dinner/movie is more of a date than coffee, so I think that's the way to go.

Dani:
So... Could I date an 18 year old girl that I met the other day? I mean... I'm 26. But she's cute and fun and new to college here and wants someone who knows the town to spend time with, and I think she liked me. I know she thinks I'm cute.

Is 18 too young for me?

I haven't played since most of my friends with guns moved away. Last time I put a tank on mine it had a leak. Nothing a bit of teflon tape won't fix, I've just been too lazy to take it apart.

Nothing is good if it's stuck in your head for too long. There's no better way to ruin a good song forever than by overplaying it.

Sometimes though... having a song stuck in the head that you haven't actually heard in a long time can be cool because when you finally get to hear it it's immensely satisfying.

That lactose-reduced milk that Lactaid makes is really good and it's realy milk that's had the lactose removed by enzymatic (sp?) processes instead of nasty soy milk. It's a good alternative to feeling like ass after drinking milk. Me? I'm only somewhat lactose intolerant so I drink milk and the consequences be damned!

So I just talked to her friend who introduced us and apparently she really liked me and wouldn't shut up about me and said I was way more fun than most guys

...ok I didn't end that sentence because my friend Mel called and told me that Ashley said thumbs way up to me asking her out and is excited that I'm interested in her too. Woot!

I'm sorry guys. I've either been really busy lately or have had an aversion to being inside on the computer. I'm around whenever you need me for a game, any message sent to my aim will buzz my cell phone. If a computer or my laptop is nearby I'll hop on.

Hopefully life will settle down a bit soon and I'll have a regular schedule. I miss Acmlm's, I'll try to do better.

Posted on 08-25-06 07:27 AM, in An intruder has entered your home. How quickly can you have a weapon in your hands? Link
I think you guys are leaving out the time you'd need to wake up enough to not trip and fall on your face when going for the weapon.

Assuming I actually woke up (though I'd probably not have gotten to sleep in the first place,) I could reach my knife from bed. The sword stays on the wall, kiddies. My grandpa's bayonet sits between the computer and lappy within arm's reach as well.

My 6 shooter is in the foot locker. If I wanted to make noise I could have it pretty quickly. If stealth were priority I'd leave it there and go to the closet instead for my Benelli 12 gauge. I'd say after getting untangled from my blanket and feeling around with my foot at the edge of the bed so I wouldn't trip... I could get to the closet and have it loaded in under 15 seconds. Longer if I'm totally asleep and need to hear something suspicious again to hammer it into the skull. Shorter if I were still awake and accustomed to the dark.

I suppose I'm luckier than some of you in that I can have pretty much any weapon I want in my house and the right to shoot before asking questions.

If I were alone in the house though, I'm gonna have to assume I'd leave out the window with my pistol and call the cops rather than killing someone. I felt bad enough shooting the armadillo that's been tearing up the yard tonight. If I had a wife and kids in the house that might not be the case.
As is, I'd likely have plenty of time to get out as I always have the room door locked when I'm in here. Little chance of them getting in through my window without making tons of noise. Jumping down from the second story is quiet, climbing up is not.

I never ever worry about that sort of thing, though. I don't even lock the front door of my house, whether I'm home or not.

I still haven't registered for school yet. Oh well, quarter doesn't start until the 7th and I'm a senior so I should pretty much still be able to get what I want. I'm trying to decide whether or not I wanna take Environmental Geology or not since I can no longer finish my geology major (because it's no longer offered here... long story. Engineers wanted our budget.)

Luckily, I've taken a lot of classes for my minor and can switch to it and still have a degree come May. Or I could do the same in environmental science because all I'd really have to pick up is Soil Science, an environmental lecture or two, and a few more quarters of chemistry.

To actually recieve your "prize" for all of the sites like that I've seen, you have to refer 6 other people who also fully complete the process. THAT is where they never end up having to pay out.

So um. You were right about the Ashley thing. Too young and too not my type. Last time I saw her she said offhand that she didn't believe in true love. Alarm bells started going off... since I'm one for commitment. So yeah. Back to the being totally single thing.

I'm moving soon. I said something about needing roomates the other night when I was out and a couple of my friends about started fighting over me.

On the one side was a girl I met a few weeks ago. Rent would be hella cheap for an apartment as nice as hers ($175.) She's pretty cool and all... But I'd have to be willing to deal with marijuana in the house. And I know she does (or at least has done in the past) drugs I'd be afraid to see. Plus we kinda have a vibe going on so it might be weird living with a girl in a small place who is interested in me. I'd probably be interested back but for the drugs.

On the other hand is my friend Matt. I know him through my last roomate and could see myself getting along just fine. He has a house (which he's paying the note on) so I wouldn't have to deal with a lease or landlord. He needs all new roomates so he's looking for 2 or 3. There are three bedrooms and a loft. With three of us the note would be $250 for each of us, so about $185ish for 4 people. My cousin needs roomates soon too so I might could convince him to move in.

It's obvious which way I'm leaning with this one. Problem is, the apartment on the other side of the wall (duplex) from my old roomate is opening up soon and I have dibs if I want it. Rent is also $175. I'd be in the same driveway as my 2 best friends and my D&D gaming group. I'd have to find a roomate for that though. One who would be willing to take the small bedroom.

What are your thoughts on this?

And how do I tell one or more of my friends that I'm not looking to live with them at the moment without sounding like an ass?

*edit* You never wore new shoes out of the store!? I was always excited to get new shoes. I definately wore the new cowboy boots I got last month out of the store.

I've been growing my goatee out longer than where I've had it for the past year or so for the purposes of straightening it out. I'm extremely OCD about it (and symmetry, and and...) and sometimes it drives me crazy.

I shave my head, but still use my blowdryer and a comb for straightening the goatee.

I was gonna do the fu-manchu thing like I started last time I let it all grow, but I just rimmed the stache back because I was tired of it getting into my mouth. I'd love to grow the goatee out really long again (because the longer it is the less it bothers me) but attractiveness is inversely proportional to beard length after a certain point.

Shame I hate the way my cheeks look fat when I'm clean shaven. If only I still had hair...

Dude, I'd kill for a three day school week that maxes out my hours for a quarter. That almost never happens here, because even within my major none of the professors ever gets together to plan out thier schedules. And very few sections of anything are ever offered... bleh.
