Penalty kicks are part of the game. There have to be certain penalties for certain offenses. You can't take them out of the game just to avoid having them decide a game here and there. Same thing with penalty shots in hockey.

Was the game decided by penalty kicks or a shootout? because those are two completely different things.

Still, I can see reasons for a shootout being necessary when a draw isn't an option. Games can't go on forever. There has to be some sort of ultimate time limit. Shootoffs are part of the game too, so it's just useless bickering to whine about them deciding a game. Only the fans of the losing team have a problem with it

She won't do time. I'm assuming there was a police report filed when he beat her. They'll take that into consideration. And is he even pressing charges? Because they can't nail her for assault if he doesn't.

And assault? If you hit someone it's battery. Assault is strictly verbally or otherwise threatening but not attacking. So why third degree assault and not a battery charge?

They carry all of them? Very bootlegged, I'm assuming... since only a handfull of the episodes have been officially released. If you pick one up, let me know what the quality is like. I plan on authoring all of these to DVD as soon as I get over being lazy.


We don't have a local anime shop. We don't even have a local comic or gaming shop. So sad. I have to go put up with stupid people when I'm in need of a Warhammer 40k game.

I didn't mean to imply that you were a whiner. I apologize that that's how I came across. I just get upset when people bicker about situations in games because most of them knew the rules and how the game worked before deciding to watch.

I did read part of your post... and then scrolled through the thread and my OMGhuge replynow instinct kicked it.

But... a shootout requires skill too. It's not as much of a team effort per shot, but it is a team effort. Your players are tested in a critical moment. One on one versus the goalie. Each player who gets a kick contributes to the success/fail ratio of the team. The teams get to that point by playing a good, evenly matched game so it comes down to the wire. I fail to see how a shootout is not representative of the skills of the players as individuals and the strength of a team.

I thought there were plenty of save points. There were save points right by most of the really hard areas of the game. The only thing I've had a really hard time with is Tourian, but that's because it is a hateful demon bitch

I'm a hockey fan, and the shooter almost never scores in a shootout, so my feelings there are exactly the opposite of what you just said.

If left to my own devices for long enough I fall into a pattern of going to bed at sunup and waking LATE in the afternoon. I just honestly find it a lot easier to fall asleep quickly when the sun is shining.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't work on my schedule so I have to adjust it accordingly. So I'm almost always tired.

Yeah, I've not been playing much. I found a dead end and haven't been able to bring myself to backtrack. And I've spent most of my computer time on the boards anyway

I'm not currently happy with my sleep schedule either. It makes me feel worthless and like I get nothing useful done. Being up all night alone is kinda depressing too. I can't go outside and work in the shop in the dead of night, so I just kinda fuck around or work on my chainmaille.

Depression is no fun.

I have to watch it sometimes.


But I make a point every day to find some tiny little thing that makes me happy and then I make a point to say "Hey, there's a good reason to be happy."

That sounds cheesy as all hell, but it really helps brighten my outlook.
