The dark green grass (Mainly the dots of dark green on the brownish dirt part) look ugly.

Some of the palettes don't look bad at all, though. Mainly the green castle.

Try making the metal bars a bit more grainy, and if you are going to use a default wood texture, darken it a bit or something..

And yeah, windows would be good.

You are much better at 2D stuff than I am, though..

I would believe that it is just blood rushing to your ears.

Happens to me, too. Ears get red, and if I'm angry, throat goes dry.

Oh my god I've had that song stuck in my head since last night.

And I have a copy of the sheet music for the Trombone.

Easily the worst thing about this is the IE4 thing. I can't watch that for very long.

The character sprites in Star Ocean 2 looked terrible, though.

Eh .... yeah, you're right they were pretty bad. Oh well, the awesome [everything else] in the game makes up for it.

And that's what makes a game. Sure, pretty art is nice, but if all you want is art, go watch a movie or look at a picture.

Graphics help convey things, and nobody can say that games on modern systems aren't affected by the graphics. The thing is, the graphic style of the game means much more than the graphic specs. Games are all about design, and while art helps portray that, what truly matters is how you are interacting with the game itself.

Friday as part of a Senior Prank (I think) somebody put on a porn video (I think it was gay porn, I can't be sure though) on the TVs in the commons during a lunch break..

It wasn't the lunch that I had though, so I only heard about it. My English teacher (my next class after the prank) talked about how hilarious it was, though.

In order to really inhabit the Moon, the colony that we would build would need to be self-dependent. We would otherwise waste far too much money (fuel) going back and forth to give our Moon-People food and water otherwise.

I bet you this will be the best Castlevania hack that we'll ever see. And if not that, then the best in a very long awhile.

You two seem to work great together, and I can't wait to try and beat this (And fail.)

All the graphics that you're doing are awesome, and all the code changes that have been done by Optomon so far sound great.

She cheated on you?

No offense, but she doesn't sound like the best person to run back to.. You have to keep looking, somebody that you want to spend your life with shouldn't be somebody that you had to "Settle down and give up looking," to get, it should be one that appears in your life and that you truly want.

However, it happened more than once.

I mean, if it happened once when she was drunk, that's something. But she chose to get drunk with him again, even after knowing that her last encounter of the sort led to her cheating on you.

Regardless of your feelings for her, I believe that you are better than her, and the fact that you can try and keep a relationship going after that happens twice proves it.

Maybe I ask, what DID lead to the two of you breaking up?

An important aspect in game isn't just how the levels play out, but the environment as well. Rocky areas should contain more vertical aspects than a grasslands, and imagining something THEN designing it helps greatly. What do you want the player to feel when they're playing? Are they areas wide and open, with a bright sky? Or perhaps a dark, cramped cave with creepy music. (played in minor!)

Besides those things, I admit to making levels on sort of a "Do it as I go" basis. Imagine playing through the game, know the character's abilities, and how easily things will be to reach. Don't make a level with the intention of giving the player a difficult time of getting from point A to B, make an actual landscape that just so happens to be able to be traveled by the protagonist.

I sound strangely deep when saying that, but it is just something I've come across when thinking about how the bigger games are designed. It seems to be what separates the expert designers from the commonplace ones.

Also, it is a pain trying to make such things when stuck in the limitations of someone else's game engine. That would be why I'm doing my own tile based game right now, heh.

Posted on 01-26-07 09:38 AM, in So who wants to try out the harmless weapon first? Link
Does anybody else fail to see the uselessness of this?

I hate to me a pessimistic person, but in war, you win by whittling down your opponent's forces. This gun does not do that, only disables them. What are we going to do when they drop their guns, capture them? We would have to stun EVERY single person with a firearm before being able to capture them, and that is assuming that people don't recover at some point in time and start shooting as us again.

In 90% of combat situations, I can't see this having any purpose. MAYBE to subdue civilians that are attempting to harm troops but not dangerous enough to need to actually kill, but still needing to be taken out of the picture for a moment.

I think that this actually does have more purpose in Police Scenarios, but I would hate to see them just firing this willy-nilly, because unlike their other weapons, this will leave no proof. (At least, I think so.)

Also, I'm sure that this is ungodly expensive. And what about charges? Giant battery pack, or does it die after a couple shots?..

......Wait, it comes from a TRUCK!? All they need to do is shoot the disk on top, and I'm sure they've just caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. Can we paint it like a target?

I wish I had a picture of my Desktop because I had to re-format... But that's my PC after 2 or three months.

I love Windows Classic.
