Eh, I wasn't too satisfied with it myself. I've had the lineart sitting around for almost a year now and decided to just slap some color on it and let it go.

It seems like the bigger something is, though, the less success you have with it...

But obviously this does not always hold true, as is evidenced by #3.

I'll admit they do, most of them were just random doodles that have absolutely no meaning. I'd suppose that with the amount of dithering I use, they wouldn't look too great on a lower resolution, I use 1280x1024 myself, and thats what I optimize the look for, similar to how most demoscene art is optimized for 320x240. I agree on the fact that I have less sucess with bigger work, I've mainly worked very small for the majority of my artwork, thus I'm more proficient in that area.

I might start, I'm not really sure. Ziff kind of brings up what I would get at though.

It's legal to smoke if you're not quite 18, It's just not legal to buy them I've been smoking since I was 13, still am, I'll be 19 next month. I honestly don't see the point of smoking "socially" unless by socially you mean piss-faced drunk. other than that it just seems like someone's trying to fit in, and that's defenitely not a reason to smoke, that's just a reason to get beat up for being a poser.

I've seen it in the theaters, and I thought it was a great dissapointment, to be honest, the previews show the best parts, the rest suck [best line in the movie was the last.] One of the few moments thad did make me laugh was the whole coffee shop scene. It had it's good parts, but it didn't live up to it's expectations to me.

If you can give me one reason you would call anyone an imposter, I would like to know who, and why. on that webpage; he gives credit tot he maker of the video. if you veiw the maker of the video's profile, his webpage is the same as VL-Tone's. So seriously, research, or at least give a fact/reason why you would say such a thing.

If you need help patching it, refer to one of the guides in the forums.

EH. I tried this hack, I really wanted to like it, but you've got just too many things wrong, as if you didn't even think about half the things you've placed. Bugs right off the top of my head;
# In hyrule castle, there's a part where dungeon walls overlap the player.
# you're given the level 2 glove, but if you go to lift a level 2 rock and go off to the right on the first screen, you get stuck.
# In the first dungeon, there's a room with water in it, you can go in the water. but you can't come back out, which leads to swimming around with no collision detection until you feel like quitting [I haven't touched the hack since]
# in the first room you two flippers and two hammers... why?

I could go on, but I'll save you the eyesore, I was very dissapointed and it made me sad

This may sound heartless, but I have to know what's so bad about profiting from a dead family member, if they're dead they're dead, you can't change that, why not capitalize on it? But that's treading touchy waters.

It doesn't suprise me at all they made a movie about 9-11. Infact I thought there would be one sooner and was suprised there wasn't. It sounds like a waste of money to me, to be honest. People are going to go see it just because they want other people to think they respect the people who died, or because it's 9-11 ZOMG. Remember that movie about jesus? you never hear anyone talk about if it was a good movie or bad on it's own, that's how I feel this movie is going to turn out. Anyway you look at it, it's still just a movie.

Seriously, IMO there's nothing wrong with being racist or prejudice, it's part of who some people are. Just as you tolerate their racism, in their eyes they're tolerating you dating a black chick zomgz. But really, this thread might have to go for a trip based on some of the replies I've seen

Now, First off, let me say I'm aware that this won't always tile perfectly, it was either make it stretchable or a fixed width. and I always think fixed width layouts are just stupid. It's pretty much the layout-to-be of my website trimmed to fit on here. [on the website there will be no tiling issues :p] Anyways, that guy hanging up there is an idiot. or at least what happens to idiots. I've still some more graphics to add here and there, but they are just link buttons are not of much importance to the overall theme. Comment. [website]

the face structure isn't bad, but his chin tilts off to the side. Neck is insanely thick, and a little too long. eyes seem too wide, even if he's asian . the hair... Is very weird, it looks more like a poofy wig than something attatched to his head, I don't get the highlights, they really make no sense. judging by the structure of the shoudlers I would guess it's female? Also the right [his left] shoulder doesn't seem to align with his body right. It looks like you have some lines in the hair that really don't belong. In short, apart from the lips I don't like it. [edit] I will admit that it's a great improvement over your last drawing. I would suggest looking for some tutorials on anatomy before doing much else, you seem to lack knowledge of how the human body is constructed.

Most of the time, I use MSPaint for lineart, then depending on what type of image it is, I either finish it in MSPaint, Graphics Gale, or Pro Motion.
If it's just a static image, I'll usually just use Paint, Animations I use graphicsgale, or something very detailed or quite large, Pro Motion.

As for shape, size and form, I just make a rough sketch with the 1px tool, then clean the lines up from there. draw some lines here and there to help guide me, most of the form and shape comes when I'm shading. here's the lineart for the "cornerstone" of this layout;
Basically I made that, colored it, and just went on from there trying to make the rocky textures tile right without looking to repetitive, and slopped a background together so it didn't look too plain. the MAIN/ART/INFO images on the website are actually older images I made, and thought they could fit well with the piece.

As for palletes, for the most part I use my gut on it, I used to use exact numbers with H/S/B but lately I've been using the sliders, I pick the highlight shade first, then the dark, and pick a few mid-tones inbetween. Most of the time I'll re-use colors as much as possible, although I strayed from that on this piece, however it's more evident in most of my others. Most of it is just hue shifting and experimenting to see what looks good with what, and after awhile, it becomes second nature.

This layout actually took about a day of off/on work, mostly due to procrastination and not wanting to do the grass ^^;. Most of the time an image takes me ~1 hour to complete, depending on the complexity of it, and if I take any breaks, of course. these two I made earlier took no more than a half hour each to create; They're just some images I plan on adding to my portfolio when it's done.

As for being precise, I rarely use refrences when possible, althought at times I need too. I for sprites I'll either scribble some rough body parts, or scribble a skeleton [stick figure] and then go ahead with the very rough body parts ontop of them. As I said earlier, most of the detail comes later, while shading it, or even afterwards when it's complete and I see something else to add.
one I did with a skeleton; one I did just sketching some body parts;

I hope this has been useful to you =]. If you've any more questions about my work I'd be happy to answer them.

Tarale: The big gap is because of the cornerstone image taking up a whole table cell :x pretty much just bad coding on my part =\. I'm afraid in the years I've spent improving my visual skills my codings skills went abit downhill. I haven't thought about a dropshadow, though.

>.> Wonder if anyone's going to read all that? =P

Graphics Gale

Two graet tools for anyone into spriting/pixelart. Also, there are some great tutorials on st0ven's website: SpriteArt.com

Two great communities for C+C are Pixelation and the forums over at PixelJoint. Both are pixel-art specific, and for the most part neither care much about giving help on any other art form. Their views on my art have helped my skills increase alot in a short amount of time. Note that neither tolerate idiocy to well eitehr.
