Um... I see ears...

technical crits: that grey padding around the white is the first thing that comes to my mind as bad when I see it, a few parts of it seem very random, like a pixel on his chin and the hair. Hand is not really defined, and his right shoe has bad proportions [seems like it stops short, and doesn't have the shape of the other shoe]. The shading on the pants seems more sketched out than thought out, and maybe a highlight tone for the hair could help it. The lightning is done pretty well, though. And the shadow seems a pixel or two too small or at least offcenter.

Yeah. those are my crits =P Hopefully not motivation-killing.

So today in class, I was sitting there drawing during the lecture, some girl comes in late and sits next to me. She starts drawing, after the first break she says "hey do you want to see my drawings?" I say yes, I look at them, and they're completely terrible .

I'm still wondering why someone would show off something that isn't good, but it's something I see all the time, because people don't really know the standard that is "good." I know it's something I'm guilty of in the past; showing off something that completely sucks because I haven't seen much better done by my peers.

Yeah I just felt like mentioning that. It was one of those "pathetically cute" things that only women can pull off [if it were a man it would just be "hey man you suck."]. Damn you women

The topic isn't "Lets bash people who have no women skills" guys . Yay to waw for being the only one on-topic.

In general, if I know something I made sucked, I wouldn't show it to anyone, for the shame of creating something that isn't worth shit. I guess this is my attempt at figuring out how people other than me think. I have a standard set for myself where it seems something I make that I think is below average, is stunning to others.

Xk: There's a difference between showing something off, and showing something to someone. In this case it was obvious she really didn't care about the drawing but most likely just wanted a reason to talk to someone. But in general I've noticed alot of people try to pass off horrible [object]s and go so far as to get offended when you point out the weak parts--even when you're polite about it. You can tell by the way someone is talking if they actually care what you think about what they've made, or if they just want it to be admired.

Thats a problem I seem to have . I'm so critical of myself anymore that the main parts I see are the weak areas of anything; compared to a few years ago where I could see only the beauty. I've either become a perfectionist or a negativist =P.

I've found the best pat on the back is from someone who is more skilled than you; There's a big difference when someone who sucks tells you "I'm impressed" and when someone who's skill you think is un-fuckwith-able tells you the same thing, so if you work hard and make it great you will get ass-kissing, and not just from noobs but from professionals and critics alike. In short if you're determined and practice enough, and know what the really great artwork looks like, eventually you will reach that level, and the same goes for everything. except having babies because guys will never be able to do that

This guy is walking alone near the pier when he spots a girl, with no arms and no legs, sitting in her wheelchair crying.

Curious, he walks up to her. "What's the matter?" he says. The girl looks up at him and says "I'm almost 25 and I've never been on a date." Feeling sorry for her, he decides to ask her out. SHe says yes and they go out and have a pretty good time.

The next week he is walking alone near the pier again and he sees the woman, again crying near the edge of the pier. "What's wrong now?" he says to her. "I'm almost 25 and I've never been kissed." she replies back. He thinks "well, she's not too bad looking... I'll give her a kiss." So he does so and this makes her happy.

The NEXT week our philanthropist is again walking out near the pier when he sees the woman AGAIN crying in her wheelchair.. near the edge of the pier. With a heavy heart, he walks up to her. "What's wroung NOW?" Through her tears she says "Well, I'm almost 25 and I've never been fucked." So the man grabs her wheelchair by the handles and pushes her off the edge of the pier and says "NOW you're fucked!"
