You said that Ric Flair was Killed for real? I can't believe it. Perhaps I must have misunderstood or something?

Yes. Yes, you did misunderstand. He got killed dead in a wrestling sense, as in took all kinds of punishment and abuse.

Fun fact: three sentences does not a paragraph make. At least they're descriptive sentences, thank you for small favors.

np: Rise Against: "Life Less Frightening"

Okay, so "Swing Life Away" was a steaming pile, but they had to come back with the ballad (kind of) for the second single to get the ladies. This song's much better, in the vein of "Give It All". Tim McIlvane can certainly non-throat scream with the best of 'em, that's fa sho. Great chorus, which wouldn't be nearly as interesting without the backing vocals. Which is funny, as they're just "liiiiiife lessssss friiiighteniiiiiiing", but there's some times where, for a good chorus, they're needed (here) and some where they're not (The Academy Is...: "Checkmarks"). Lyrically, 'tis all about how he just wants something that isn't nearly as unnerving, even though he can't place what's so sc-c-c-caaaawy.

I take it this is opposed to the style of chin we usually see in Family Guy? You know, the "Hey, what are these doing up here?" chin.

Haha, he has his balls in the face.

What, it LOOKS like that.

Eh, they already made that joke on the show.

Seriously, why didn't anyone tell me Chuck Norris was on the board? Is it true what they say about how you play The Oregon Trail?

Mine might've been stealing CD's from the school's radio station (this was in college). Not one or two. Over a hundred. During my show, I'd look around while a song was playing, stick what I'd like in my bag, and carry on. (See, that cabinet was locked, but someone else popped it open. There was another cabinet, which was left unlocked, that had CD's anyone could help themselves to. Hooray, cover story!) Of course, I drunkenly blabbed about it to friends who were there and they had to turn me in, so I spent a semester living at home and having to sneak into my girlfriend's room. (ahem)

Do tell, Colin. I've been busy formulating ROYAL RUMBLE TRIVIA!

* What was special about Bob Holly's three eliminations in 1994?
* Who holds the record for most eliminations in a Rumble? Kane, 11 in 2001 (Ruby Weapon 7)
* Who has the most career eliminations, gimmicks notwithstanding?
* What wrestler was pushed over by the most people in one Rumble? How many did it take?
* Who has never made it out to any Rumble?

Official NBA thread strictly because of this thang.

In 42 minutes, Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant racked up:
* 28 field goals (on 46 attempts)
* 7-13 on threes
* 18-20 on free-throws
* Six rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block

More importantly, 81 points. That's second all-time in the Association, behind just Wilt Chamberlin's 100 back in 1962. Kobe scored 55 in the second half. Toronto had just 41. Mike James led the Raptors with, uh... 26.

Also, Seattle beat Phoenix 152-149 in double overtime. Say it with me now, kids: daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

And we have a TRADE a-simmerin'.

Boston gets: OF Coco Crisp
Cleveland gets: RP Guillermo Mota, minor-league 3B Andy Marte

Not thrilled to give up Marte, who's being tagged as one of the best 3B prospects in years, but THAT. Is how you fill a hole in CF.

A few days ago, my Nokia 3650 started saying "SIM card registration failed" every time I hung up or closed out of a menu. The phone still works great, it's just a message that comes up.

Details:
* The phone is unlocked. I inherited it from my girlfriend after she converted to paygoism... erm, went prepaid.
* I had to unlock it because she was on t-Mobile and I'm on Cingular.
* I've had the phone for probably over a year now, and this just started happening a week ago.

Ones who don't check the profile can't get in.

(Translation: I'm a sports reporter for a weekly newspaper. Been there almost a year, ever since it started up. Just started laying out my own section, so maybe I'll get bumped up to sports editor. It helps when you're the entire department. ;P)

I thought it was called Lite... (ducks)

I might get the old-school DS if those come down in price (like the GBA), but that's just because I'm cheap.

If it involves Ron Artest, the question really is, do you need to ask?

Speaking of trades, the Celtics dumped Mark Blount on the T-Wolves, along with Jiri Welsch and Ricky Davis, for Michael Olowokandi and Wally Szczerbiak. There's other players involved but I can't be bothered to look them up.

Also, Chris Andersen will not be around to defend his dunk contest appearance fee.
