That controller's the U-Force, I believe. Even LESS memorable than the Power Glove. (Ones who does not Love the Glove can't get in, by the way.) And they have some odd pricing schemes at the Salvation Army stores around here, if you're comparing them strictly to Goodwill. CD's tend to be more expensive, but I made off with a thief's haul of consoles and games for $20 because they were trying to unload them and make room for more in the way of, like, "toasters and blenders".

As for their purpose, even if I'm in a higher tax bracket than their customer base, they look at any sales, no matter who's buying their stuff, as helping the mission. So it's fine with them, I guess. And as for a Sega Master System for $10... I wouldn't get ANY console at a thrift store that's more than $10* unless it has enough stuff bundled with it. That's hardly ripping them off, considering I got two Genesises (Genesii?) for maybe $12, total. * Editor's note: Exceptions have been made for the NES because of the whole new connector = PROFIT thing and all. (restricted) |

But seriously, the big thing is that this is going to get OOGLY. The wrangling over her estate, and more importantly, her daughter, can only end badly. A shame no matter who it is. | ||||||
