So a friend of mine's got issues with her computer. Can't go up to take a look at it, but she says that she's getting errors that mention her drivers. She doesn't know exactly what, but I've told her that the next time it happens, she needs to write it down and tell me... so I can tell you. She's running Windows XP, and here's what she has hooked up that would need a driver:
* printer
* iPod
* "wireless network thingamabobber" (not sure if it's a card or just some Wi-Fi access point)
* camera

But when she does a check on the drivers, everything comes up okay. In lieu of updating the drivers (which I told her to do), anything else that could cause this?

Doesn't sound like she would. I'd probably be okay, anyways.

'Sides, now it's a moot point because I told her I was having second thoughts. She's looking at one-bedroom places, I'm looking elsewhere.

For anyone that has a legit copy of CyberLink's PowerDVD 7, does this have ANY viruses or Trojans associated with it? Mine's somewhat less than legit, and after scanning with AVG, it says it found TrojanDropper.Yabinder. That would probably explain the illegitimate programs known as 
"wmpIayer.exe"
and 
"lexplorer.exe"
that popped up.

So, if it doesn't, and the person who started the torrent is just being a dick, how can I tip people off that the file's infected?

Helmet Head's the boss for #2, I think. (You mean the one where you'll have two helmets floating around, shooting at you while you're trying to kill the boss?) #5 is the big white guy with the chain hammer.

When I was in third grade, one of the fifth-grade teachers got pinched for, I believe, some sort of sex crime. Before my teacher let us out, she (as this school's teaching staff was, for some odd reason, overwhelmingly staffed by women... the one that got arrested was the only guy I knew of there who was teaching) told us all not to comment to the media.

And here I am covering a coach that got busted for DWI.

Work:


Anything with "126" in the name is due for this week's paper. Deadline's today, except there's a couple I'm holding because they involve games on Tuesday. In addition, trying to get all the bulletins and such in order so I can have all the recreational contacts on le comp.

Non-work:
* Selling off the games I don't need for my collection, along with other stuff on eBay.
* Getting caught up on my finances, so I can...
* Move out before my birthday. Shooting for next month.

And I thought my grip was wonky, seeing as I have the hand in front and almost drag the ball behind me. (Don't know if I was shooting for a Chad Bradford-like submarine motion or something... yeah, THAT'LL confuse the ever-loving shit out of those pins!) Somehow, it works for me.
