So, uhm, how 'bout them ADO Den Haag keepers?

(Unsticking because this thread Just Won't Be Defeated.)

And in the battle where there can be no winners, Flying Bear beat Flying Shark 42-39. Can they shut up now?

And now for the dumbest question ever. I'm happily downloading episodes of a certain TV show for DVD purposes. The episodes are in XviD format, and this is in Windows XP. What do I need, software-wise, to put together a slightly-amateurish DVD? Just need to create a functioning menu, doesn't have to be pretty or anything, and I want more than one episode on a disc. I forget what my girlfriend used, but I don't think she could do more than one on a disc (unless she just didn't bother).

Seeing as I'm kind of in one, I think I have to technically say yea (almost an hour and a half away, but thankfully we both have cars and driver's licenses, neener neener) but yeah, you have to be serious if you want it to work in the long run. Aaaaaand we're not, so who knows what the deal is. (shurg)

Now that I've seen it, I'm taking away his mop. Company property and all. Right after he started, I'm just thinking "Mike... what are you thinking?" I don't even think he has a clue.

Which is funnier:

* Someone buying 3 PlayStations for $900
* Someone sells their PlayStation 3... for $9.99

And does either one top the guy that sold the box for his PS2 for $400 at that launch?

Yeah, the planted fights in the lava section are ridiculous. Especially the last jump, over the extra-wide pit (so you can make the leap to toasted sandwiches)... until I finally got the timing right, that was firmly in "mother... SHITTER!" territory.

Anyway, I quite like Zelda II: Link Harder, but I can't really say much negatively about the series. Besides, I play with savestates now and know the Ancient Family Secret to killing Ironknuckles with the greatest of ease:

Spoiler:
A quick hop 'n stab. If you time it right, you'll hit them just above the shield and they're totally helpless. At least until the final dungeon, but at that point, you're just HAULING ASS to the bottom.

Oh, and the penultimate boss is ricockulous. No excuse for you to be fully leveled-up, full life, full magic, and if he hits you five times (especially when he's bleeding those fireballs all over the fuckin' place) you're D-U-N DONE.

That's Nintendo. They're your pusherman, and have been for about 20 years now.

How else do you think they could get away with releasing what, internally, is just a spiffed-up version of their last console, slap something that, in anyone else's hands, would probably be regarded as gimmicky at best (and was the first time anyone tried it, in spite of an on-screen proclamation of someone Loving the Glove) on there as the big selling point, not really come out with mind-blowing realism in graphics... and STILL have people bowing down on both knees, begging for more of that sweet, sweet Wiiahol? If it wasn't for getting everything right, any other company who tried this would probably get laughed out of the business.

Isn't the whole argument for Meeshigan/OSU II: Electric Boogaloo that they're just that much better than anyone else? Well... uh, who wants to prove that? Just about everyone else that's up there is in a different conference (seeing as the Big Ten's top-heavy as shite), and doesn't get to play 'em. Let's look at the polls... and due to Woody Paige content regulations, LOOK AT THE SCHEDULE!

Games for either Thee Ohio State University or Meeshigan where the victim was in the top 25 at the time, not counting that Saturday thingy: Four (Ohio State vs. #2 Tejas, #24 Penn State, #13 Iowa, Meeshigan vs. #2 Our Injury).
Rankings for those teams now: Notre Dame 6/6, Texas 10/11, Penn State votes/votes, Iowa DNP (CD).
Their records: Notre Dame 10-1, Texas 9-2, Penn State 8-4, Iowa 6-6.

So Thee Ohio State University's the only one who'd have a case for a rematich if they lost the head-to-head... whiiiich they didn't. Both teams can say they played one other Best Of The Best team, but Thee Ohio State University played two other teams of note. Strength of schedule? Ohio State 95, Michigan... 47. Well, shit, that doesn't help my case. Eh, that site has Boise State DFL.

So whose cuisine SHOULD reign supreme? USC. They've got a game or two in hand, have a decent strength of schedule, have the poll numbers, and most importantly, HAVEN'T ALREADY LOST TO THIS YEAR'S KING SHIT TEAM. Meeshigan had their chance at Thee Ohio State University and lost. NEXT.

Covering the local football game (hey, it'll give me The Friday of Hidden Blistering Death off), then hauling ass up to New Hampshire with the Officially Licensed Family to eat the Officially Licensed Family (Extended 12" Mix)'s leftovers (by the time the game's over, the parents will have already left, so I'll be late).

At some point during the day, I'll probably repress some indigineous people, rape their culture, and exploit them financially.

Oh, and since the schools around here are doing their Thanksgiving things now, getting sent to shoot pics of the special ed classes eating their Traditional Thanksgiving Dinners and coming back with some after they just beg you to eat with them = win.

Young Guru: When I said "games in hand" I meant games that they had yet to play, not games they're gonna win. Beating ND should put them over the top, if you ask me, but it's not a guarantee.

MON: If you check ESPN.com, Pat Forde broke it down much better than I could, and he came out with USC being the best contender. He was also counting Arkansas and Florida, which I forgot. But Arkansas also lost to USC, so if you'd put them in over USC, you'd also have to make the case as to why Michigan doesn't get the same treatment. And Florida just wins games, without being as dominant as Ohio State. They're not going to make up enough ground (nor should they).
