At least in his case, they made it sound like he also went ass-to-mouth (yes, I will keep describing it as such until we find the real reason why everyone's livers are so enzyme-happy) and didn't violate the drug portion. So someone should probably stop passing Bob Orton around the locker room, if it is indeed Hepatitis C. And why isn't it affecting Raw or ECW? Hmmmmmmm?

Notice how the guy who started all this LOLZDRAMA hasn't been here in three weeks... (ahem)

But wasn't Soleil Moon Frye, like, Capital Knockers back when she was around that age? Got a reduction, and I'd imagine that's in Natasha's future too, yes?

Actually, it wasn't that good of a rhyme. But... you mean to tell me Lance Bass likes the mansex?

Lance Bass?

Gay?

I'm sorry, I don't see it. (For reals, good for him, if I were so inclined, I'd comment on his boyfriend, but let's hope he doesn't grow an oil-and-muscles fetish too.)

And just to pile on, two more guys are off the road in what will SURELY decimate Smackdown's main-eventer roster:

y

Don't know why on the former, but the latter had a staph infection months ago, kicked its ass (because HE WILL NOT DIE) and some remnants, which were dormant, flared up in the blood test. Speaking of which, they should be able to figure out just what the hell is going on from those same samples, if I understand correctly...

So upon orders from my boss, I've taken the hard drive out of her old comp. She's recycling it, but wanted me to destroy the hard drive (an ancient Quantum... maybe 4 GB? Does anyone still make internal HD's in the 5.25" style?). I can't break into the drive itself, because three of the screws are stripping, and I had a go at it in the parking lot (and consequently, bent a shitload of pins on the connector), but I just have to kill it dead. If I nuke this, will it damage the Officially Licensed Office Microwave?

So's I see this iMac in a thrift store. $75, looks like it's a good deal. Fire it up, it works, and I'm thinking it's still a good deal (blueberry, slot-loading, has OS9 on it and an AirPort option, but I don't know if that's just standard with OS9). So I pop a CD in (just a music CD), and it whines that it doesn't know what kind of CD it is and to either eject it or initialize (as in burning, so at least I know it has no less than a CD-RW). Eject does nothing. Mind you, the CD's playing this whole time. A few people are gathered around, and one notes that the keyboard doesn't have an eject button (because it came with the comp). No icon appears on the desktop, so I can't drag it into the trash and get it to eject that way. Upon the advice of someone else, I turn it off and back on again. Well, now the Mac's trying to boot from the CD and it won't start up. Here are the questions.

* How can I get the Mac to eject the CD?
* Is this easily fixable?

If not, I can bring it back no later than Sunday for credit.

Nope. It's a slot-loader, too. Specifically, this model.

EDIT: The people at the store are morons. They said there was no hole, THERE'S A HOLE. So I bend a paperclip, stick it in, and out pops the CD. It's on the very right side, next to where you'd put the CD, so it's easy to miss. ANYWAY. I popped in another CD to see if it's just that CD... and it keeps spinning up and not starting up. Bleh. How easy is this to fix?

Hope not. These aren't copy-protected. They actually date back to years before copy-protection (like, 1991).

Maybe they just need the money? (shrug) CT cops are pretty easy to spot, really. It helps when they camp out in clearings, but sometimes they can be absolute bitches as far as hiding.

Well, if that's the problem, I'm not fixing it. Just won a SuperDrive and 60GB hard drive, pre-loaded with OS X (10.4, no less!) off of eBay, so I'll make the switch. If I think I can get anything for the drive, I'll fix and sell it, but that's pretty much it for this drive. Especially after talking to someone at the Apple store and finding out that, in fact, it's just a standard IDE drive.

Hey kids, what'd we learn today?

* Allergies = the lame. (sneeze)
* If you bump a thread over five months old, you must be made to be the object of ridicule.

But since the last point kind of goes against board bylaws, I'll simply note that your name is in red, and if you continue to make a habit of spectacularly old bumps, that will soon turn to gray. And there will be rejoicing, because you won't be here any more, but then that'll mean I won't have any modding to do because everyone, for the most part, behaves themselves here in this forum. So it's in your best interests to, oh, stop bumping anything that's either a month old or off the first page. But you won't read this, and I'm pretty sure you'll bump again. Hey, don't say I didn't warn ya.

Aww, I already blew my best "stop bumping or you'll get banned" post on the Bear vs. Shark thread. But yeah, you're gettin' banned if you keep it up.

The only problem with that, SS, is that the fire and brimstone, accept Jesus or go to hell and die types aren't the most popular, but they're damn sure the loudest. So the SBC-types tend to get conflated with Christians in general.

And I've looked at the original question from the other side: the types that would say that good people who don't accept Jesus are going to hell tend to be the same types who'd say that all that's required to get into heaven is to accept him. Which is not how I roll. I don't think that's enough, I believe you do need to live a good life. But hey, they'd already think I was going to hell anyways because I was raised Roman Catholic, yes?
