| (buuuuuuuuuuuuuuump!)
So remember how the Islanders hired Neil Smith to be their GM? He's... uh, not any more. His replacement? GARTH SNOW. Yeah, the guy who was backing up DiPietro in net last year. EDIT: (snicker) Line of the day about the move: "If stupid ever goes to $60 a barrel, I want drilling rights on Charles Wang's forehead." (edited by drjayphd on 07-18-06 06:21 PM) |

| On FF1: I forget if the guy who argued this is still here, but I guess the attacking of dead enemies is supposed to be realistic. You know, you're giving the orders and then they act simultaneously. Only the last time I checked, if you were actually in such a fight, you, personally, wouldn't attack something that's already dead, yes?
FF6: That was just their way of providing a nice, non-linear aspect to the game, right? Too bad it didn't really work. WOW/Xeo: Yeah, I'm just like that too. Hell, look at Castle of the Winds. I'll keep playing a dungeon after GRAAH JASON SMASH BOSS until I get every. single. piece of treasure out of there, disarm every trap, and kill every enemy (even though they respawn by the time I leave). It'd kill me that I couldn't max out everything in FF6, because I'd just have to have the Odin Esper turn into... whoever it is that teaches you Ultima. |

| Is there some sort of unwritten rule that says when someone dumps your friend, you can be friends with them but when said dumper starts seeing someone else, no more? Confused? You won't be, after this episode of...Soap.
* As many of you knew, I broke up with my girlfriend of three and a half years (!) in March. First of the month, actually. It was pretty much mutual, but she really had her hopes up on moving in together and going through the legal formalities, nahmeanyahear (which I knew was a bad idea, and it turns out that since then, two people I know who lived with their SO's moved out and broke up with them, so... I was right. )
* I was friends with a bunch of her friends, and there was one who was particularly cool. Basically like some of yinz when it comes ot the video-game fandom and such. * Well, last Wednesday, I go see the Dropkick Murphys (yaaaaay) with someone else. Things go well, and I learn from her post on the evening that she wished she kissed me goodbye (!). Which is funny, because I wanted to kiss her too. * So plans are made for Sunday. In summary, when I get home much later that night, I go onto wherever would ask about your relationship status and change it from "Single" to... well, you get the idea. * Yesterday, the friend from Bullet Point #2 notices that and, conflicted between being friends with me and with my ex (who she's known for much longer), decides she has to drop me from wherever she'd be connected with me. (I'm guessing she isn't losing my number, though.) Was that last step REALLY necessary? Or would you have problems being friends with someone who did that (dated your friend, broke up with them, and eventually started seeing someone else)? |

And another thing that really grinds my gears: not being able to have every item. In the words of a great character of Gregory Helms's, whassupwitdat? |

The Minifesto icon-making site is insanely additctive. Only problem is some of the quotes I want to use are too long for it. So I split them into two images (you put in a quote and it spits out an animated GIF), figuring I can stick them together in ImageReady later. Only problem is they're REALLY big, frame-count-wise. The palette's only two colors, but it'd be over 1800 frames. So this is causing problems for ImageReady, which ends up hanging. Since the images are so small, filesize-wise, I should be able to paste them together with a hex editor, yes? Combined, I'd expect they'd be less than 60K. So what am I looking for? I want to copy the frames and duration from one and paste them into another, starting after the last frame. Don't need the palette info if possible, as they use the same one. I wonder if the links will work, but basically I want to stick this:
at the end of this:
and make one uber-icon. ![]() |

| So, how are your liver enzyme levels? For reals, are they going to have anyone left for the Great American Bash? (I mean, y'all's know about Mark Henry, right? Out until March with a variety of knee issues. Patella tendon torn off the bone and split knee.) | |||||||||||||||||||||

| In theory, they could have Daivari pull a bitch move and say Taker's unworthy to face the Great Khaleeto and he'll be taking on tha Show. Shame, because if what I'd heard of the Punjabi Prison Match was true (reinforced bamboo cage, with some barbed wire involved) was true, it could've been a decent match. (Not saying it won't be, but it won't make sense without the Great Khaleeto.)
In brighter news, JBL is the best color commentator in the bidness right now. Discuss. EDIT: In light of recent Punjabi Prison Matches allegedly sucking news, this banner, found elsewhere, is now very necessary. ![]() (edited by drjayphd on 07-24-06 02:28 AM) |

I hate you all.
5'10", 239 lbs. now. Thanks to diet and (not so much now, due to a raging case of poison ivy) exercise, I've dropped 14 lbs. but I'm trying to get down around 180. I've just got to get back on the workout regimen, but I've been losing lately, so that's good. ![]() |

| I do hope someone who's medically inclined has any idea what roids can do to your liver. Not sayin' they're all on them NOW, buuuut...
Oh, and other rumors on the Internets have WWE signing COLT FUCKIN' CABANA to a developmental deal. As opposed to other online legends, he'd probably be a MUCH better fit than, say, CM Punk, wrestling-wise. They've had him job a few times, so they should know what they're in for. ![]() |

Yaaaaay. |
Just to kill the mood, lookie what you find online: Most anabolic steroids which are ingested orally pass through the liver, which functions as the body´s filtration system. When something goes through the liver, it is broken down by various enzymes, and passed along into the bloodstream. Most research on orally administered anabolic steroids focus on the fact that liver enzymes are elevated following ingestion. Ladies and gentlemen, we have uh-oh. At least this means we don't have to think about Lashley, The Great Khalito, Super Crazy, and Kid Kash engaging in ass-to-mouth.

Gee, thanks, ESPN. Really appreciate you firing Harold Reynolds. No idea why, and I didn't see Baseball Tonight on Sunday, so I have no idea if it has something to do with that. But at Deadspin, the speculation is sexual harassment. Oopsie. |

Hooray, MORE lunacy! Appeals have been heard, now let's go to the judges.

Whoops, Juventus is still in Serie B. But they're only docked 17 points instead of 30. Everyone else gets to stay in Serie A, with reduced penalties, except I believe Lazio's penalty got increased. | ||||||||||
