That's actually why I originally got my iPod Shuffle. Now it's on podcast/audiobooks in the car duty. And that's... (deep breath) okay...

To be fair, he is using an injury excuse. Wouldn't have happened if Keith Foulke didn't eat his fertilizer.

Oh, and speaking of disgraces () Carlos Lee's out of the Derby, replaced by that noted Panamanian, Lance Berkman. Was the national setup supposed to last, or was it just a one-shot deal?

So I take it everyone saw the episode of South Park about it? You know, the one that pissed Isaac Hayes off to the point of quitting? The jokes wrote themselves (no, really, the "THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS ACTUALLY BELIEVE" bit). And the sad part's where they felt they had to credit everyone as John or Jane Smith on account of getting sued shitless.

Yes, but because it's... him, everyone's gotta get in their parting shots. Never mind he doesn't even have a red name, and therefore, isn't the worst person here.

So, in case you haven't been bombarded by people talking about it, Ye Olden President Gee-Dub is turning 60 shortly. So Nintendo decided to commemorate it. You probably saw this on Kotaku, I saw it on Oh No They Didn't. I think mine's more applicable, seeing as they gave him a DS... and Brain Age. Hinting much?

YY-CHR? Nope. You'll need to find the palettes in a hex editor. Find an emulator that can show the palettes (like FCEUXD) and search for the hex values.

Blade Runner = bad adaptation of a great book with really nice cinematography. If you're not into really revolutionary camera angles and shadowing and shit like that...its not all that great. Read "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" instead. Far better.

Bogus. I've never read the book and I think Blade Runner's stellar. It's got such a phenomenal atmosphere, and the camerawork's great. I look forward to the Final Cut coming to theaters and DVD next year. I hope it really is Ridley Scott's definitive version.

In the name of not derailing this thread (the 80's movies one), anyone else want to see this? I quoted the above because it, too, is based on a Philip K. Dick story. 'Cept the difference here is A Scanner Darkly's done with rotoscoping (or, animation based on live-action footage). Based off of what I know of the book, that should be a particularly intriguing and well-suited move.

EDIT: Yeah, I know, Toxic made a thread about this, but it was five months ago. There's a link to the trailer in there if you're interested. (And don't try posting in it, I just closed it lest anyone... try... to post in it.)

So I just got back from a certain bar. (For those who've seen me LJ, yes, I did see the friend from high school who's on the Real World.) The fellow high school people there were happy to see me, and that includes the aforementioned friend and her bff/might as well be assistant. () And that also means I met her boyfriend. (OMGZ SPOILERS: She's back with Keith. Ya know, the guy that beat her?) And... he's not a bad guy. As far as I saw, at least. I'm told/guessing he's getting help, at least I'd hope he is. And he certainly didn't seem violent. Butbut... I still feel like I should do something for her. She's still recovering (?) from her bulimia (for reals, she's BONY) and seeing a guy who did some Very Bad Things To Her. But what can I do? More importantly, does she want my help? (I can guarantee I won't be asking these questions tomorrow morning, when I've sobered up, so that's why I post NOW. )

Fully aware it isn't. The point is not enough people calling others out on their absurdly cheap level designs.

(Oh, and just to let everyone else know, I'm not playing this again, so no whining and telling me not to play it. )

Almost everyone on the highway will pass us. And it's not one of those passes where they slowly pass you. This is one where they are going like 1 1/2 times faster than us.

Well, at least we never have drag races. Heh. I was just reminded of this time I saw an ice cream truck drive by my house slowly. I see it coming back again, at about twice its speed. Just about 10 feet behind it was a van going slightly faster.

(tends to do more like 80 when the limit's 65)

But it's just because I know what I'm capable of and therefore, don't go that fast unless, well, traffic's that fast. Those douches who do 100 and weave without signaling? I KEEL YOU!

Arwon: Nope. I don't have the patience to solve any of her problems. Getting away from the ex (unless he truly has renounced his ways and any desires to go back) is enough, but I don't want her to glomp onto me.

Kasadrack: The keeping of eyes on her would be easier if she wasn't running around the country generally being Someone On A Reality Show. You'd be amazed (maybe not) how many bars will bring in Someone Who Was On A Reality Show for star power.

And as for the fixing of things... If she wants help, she's going to have to come to me, rather than I offer it to her. I know that it's on her, and I know it's bloody unlikely, but I still feel like I should do something. (Kinda like how people keep saying she's hot, but the body image issues are still there.)
