mattp speaks nothing but truth about Avenged Sevenfold. As for Disturbed, their first album's eh. But I haven't paid attention to them since.

To be fair, FairPlay only applies, as far as I can tell, to songs/videos bought from iTMS. Gee, wonder how you could render that inapplicable. _¬

Does it now. I've downloaded my fair share of albums in M4A format (hooray Soulseek) and they've played fine, as have ones I've shared. So it's only crippled if you don't use iTunes... but I do.

Well, there's a difference between that aspect of it and Nazi-esque leanings. Most of the hate crimes that I can think of involving black metal were religious in nature, not racially motivated, but wasn't there one prominent musician who went the white power route in jail? Forget the guy's name.

Can't imagine they could, considering the rights issues. Although I haven't heard the legal version of "Liebesleid", just the one with the offending sample (which really is more common than you'd expect).

Bottom 2nd, US leads 10-0. So we can pencil in the US and Mexico for the second round yes?

Even better about that Netherlands/Panama game? No hits, no strikeouts. When's that happened in MLB?

Technically, Colin, if that's the case, then Mexico should be in because they beat Canada. And then the US should be in because they beat Mexico. And then Canada... well, the whole cycle will keep up until Bud Selig's in the fetal position, sucking his thumb.

Yeah, I got a haircut. See?

np: The Breakfast Club: "Right On Track"

Euwwwwwwwww. Their big claim to fame? A certain Madonna Louise Ciccone used to play drums for them. She split around 1980, but they released their first and only album about five years later. Typical mid-80's white-boy pop-funk, along with the absolutely wretched video to go along with it. (Yes, it gets occasional airplay on VH1 Classic.) It's catchy, if not insanely dated, but they went on to do not a whole lot of, well, nothing.

Worse. The Adventures of Loli, anyone? (squirm)

Maybe a Nekketsu collection? I'd get that just for Super Dodge Ball.

Oh, and if you're running a pool, don't use this bracket, especially if you value your job/whatever. Daniel Gibson, PUT SOME UNDERWEAR ON.

Pretty cool song, isn't the lead singer from Nickleback the dude who sings this one with Amy Lee?

(giggle)

I have a hard time telling them apart. It's actually the lead singer from Seether singing with the rest of Seether, as well as Amy Lee, who, for this song, is working with Seether. Sadly, there's no way to tie that crap to Nickelback. (sigh)

np: Hybrid: "Finished Symphony"

OMG my symphonic progressive trance is pastede on yay. It's actually a really good pairing, especially in the execution. Hybrid got together with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra for this, with a nicely arranged part that really doesn't sound like any classical piece you've heard. And not because of the breaks and other typical trance trappings, but because of the arrangement. Sure, it still sounds like progressive trance circa 2000-2001, but it's quite good.
