Hey, it's time for me to get a Nintendo DS! Does anyone know if there are any differences between the two besides the look (advantages & disadvantages)? Any new features, bug fixes, hardware improvement, firmware changes, homebrew capability, etc. Any info will be helpful to me, and many others! Thanks.

This is a bit off topic, but I didnt want to start a new thread for this. How do you play DS hacks, or ROMs on DS hardware? Can you load a game via a gba flash cart, or os there another device?

Hey, can anyone recommend a good program or method for viewing and editing the sprites in Zelda 3? It looks like Hyrule Magic can't do this. Also maybe small things like the flowers that move, grass cutting, bomb explosions, etc. Any info would help a lot.

This program runs in DOS? When I click the icon it will open, then minimize. I remember this happening before when I tried using it. It may just be my computer sucking. If not, what do I press to start my computer on DOS mode, or should I just figure out DOSBox? Sorry, this is some new territory for me. Also there are many tile editors out there, I'll mess with a few anyways, but can anyone reccomend their favorites?

Okay, so I went to my start menu, then to run..., I entered the path, and it does the same thing it did when I clicked on the icon (open, then immediatley minimize or close). I think I have windows 2000, Boom.dk said: Enter cmd if you run Windows 2000/XP or command if you run 9x. Does this mean I have to add something else (a command) to the destination: C:\zcompress\ ??
I know this is proably simple to do, but I just cannot figure it out. Also I have little exp. with DOS, so that could be a factor. |

It seems that my primary ROM site www.romreactor.net has closed, or at least been inaccessable for a few days, can anyone confirm this? Anyone know of another website that had an equal amount and variety of files?
I know the rules, I'm trying to request ROMs here, I'm just looking for a good website that hosts ROMs, and other helpful resources. |

Has anyone messed with the e-card reader yet? I'm sure there would be a way to make your own SMB3 levels (for the GBA version) and with a good printer you could play them on the actual hardware via the e-card reader. It would be a lot to figure out, but it could also be easier than you may think!?

Hey, I didn't want to start a new thread for this, here seems appropriate. Does anyone know what happened to the "Quest for Calatia" website? I look at the updates in the journal from time to time, and the site seems to have disappeared. I'm not sure if the project was iced, shut down, or if the site is under construction or unpaid. This hack looks great, and I'd hate to see it disappear. Let me know if you have any info, the site was: http://www.cymoro.com/rha/zelda3c/index.shtml

DahrkDaiz-
Maybe it would be possible to have a pipe underwater that the fish enemies, or squids keep coming out of, like the goombas in world 1-2. Also you could change the GFX of the bow wow (Ball & chain enemy) to look like a pihrana plant, also maybe extend the chain and/or make it spit fireballs. Also, regular pihrana plants with extra large vines that will maybe shoot up faster, and block your way, maybe you can only hit it in the head with a fireball to defeat it, not the vine, or maybe only the hammer suit (or whatever fireball alternative you create) can defeat it via the vine. Maybe also a floating, or underwater version of that white enemy that sits on the lily pad, and hops when you jump over it (sorry, I can't find my enemy index). Underwater bullet bills could be cool too. You could also make an underwater maze on a sidescrolling level (like the airships, etc.), maybe a sunken ship, if you take the wrong route, or take too long, you'll get squashed, but that's more of a level idea. Let me know if any of this helps! |

Yeah, so I was just wondering what the EXT. port on the bottom of the original SNES does? I remember hearing about a cd device that never was released, any other uses?

I remember running this program before with little trouble, since then my computer has been updated (or messed with). I just downloaded YY-CHR from zophar.net (so it should be what everyone else has) v. 0.97 beta 31. The problem is, when I download it, the virus protection on my computer recognizes it as a trojan horse or something (I think I have AVG Free), when I try to open the application it says "Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied". I'm not sure if I have to uninstall the virus protection (I already tried closing the program), or if I'm just doing something wrong. Any info would help!

Yes, that should fix it! Only problem is that, from what I can gather from their useless help menu, is that I have to upgrade to the paid version to use that option or I'm SOL, but let me know if I'm wrong! So I'll just uninstall, and hopefully that should do it. Thanks for the help! |
