These weren't the slowest-witted of mechanical kaiju - the one that had been flung ignited a pair of boosters on it's backside, slamming itself into Anubis - and peacefully detonating right in Sky's face moments later, a blow sure to conveniently throw him into a building and collapse it on top of him.

---

DOCTOR HELL: Now! Capture Melvin Robo!

---

Baron Ashura listened, a yellow orb on top of his staff glowing brightly.

BARON ASHURA: Yes, Doctor Hell! All units - fold out!

Several units crowded around the motionless Melvin Robo. Baron Ashura tapped his staff downwards against his purple saucer - and he, along with the units that were left standing, and the Melvin Robo - disappeared with it.

A white-and-blue Core Lander sat embedded nose-first into an elevated strip of Tokyo-3's main city highway. The ship's windshield was broken, and the nose had been dented like a paper cone upon striking the surface. Melvin lie some feet away, his glasses hanging off his face, one lens cracked, and a trickle of blood trailing down his left cheek.

MELVIN: Fuck. That shit hurts.

---

Several rescue vehicles and machine robos (Namely the red-and-blue HoRyu and EnRyu) appeared on the scene to mop things up. The fairly undamaged Heavy Lobster IV and a slightly banged-up Anubis, their pilots, and Melvin and his Core Lander were all hauled to one of the many research centers in Tokyo-3 that doubled as mecha repair stations - in this case, the Photon Power Lab, a building shaped much like a white pyramid with it's insides curving inside slightly - and a giant reflecting pool beside it, for almost nearly no reason whatsoever.

The majority of the group was moved to a small waiting room, where they awaited the head researcher at the laboratory, Dr. Yumi, to arrive.

GIM-0410: Hello and welcome to another bright and sunny Tokyo-3 morning! It's GIM-0410 in the sky with your noon traffic report, on 99.5 KQFD~

In the clear blue skies above Tokyo-3, air traffic was at it's usual pace, scattered commuter airplanes and hobbyists taking flight amongst all manner of carriers, scientific aircraft, and the occasional flight-equipped mecha on patrol. Amongst these, pedaling slowly along in a tiny gyrocopter, little more than a chair with wheels and a propeller, was one of the government's many civil service robots - One-armed robots with lone telescopic lenses for visual input and never without blue and yellow baseball caps, known as GIM units. The first of these - a pale imitation of the living machines populating the robotic planet of Mecheye - was cobbled together by Mel Umino. Originally relatively crude drone capable of only menial labor, the models and designs increased in complexity as the concept of the modern AI Drive was realized.

As the GIM unit hurriedly pedaled to stay aloft, the reploid's glowing blue eye narrowed slightly, it's telescopic lens stretching out several inches, twisting and focusing.

GIM-0410: And it seems that we have a four-car pileup near Checkpoint 10 on the inner ring. SDF already has the area marked off, and more GIMs are arriving to clean up. The bottleneck currently has traffic backed up to Checkpoint 7, but I expect that to be cleared up soon. Drive safely, folks!

The city of Tokyo-3 - supposedly the original design was drawn by Mel Umino on a cocktail napkin. This popular myth is only half-true, as the original design was actually haphazardly drawn on the inside of an old gum wrapper. The city design itself is relatively simple - the initial design was a circle, divided into eight "slices of pie". A second circle was added to the inside, to form a ninth sector. Concentric rings were added to the outer ring of this circle, and to the outside of the original circle. Each of the "slices" represents a city sector, 1-8. The central circle represents Sector 0, where all government facilities of the city are kept, as well as numerous scientific and educational/informational institutions. The two circles mentioned earlier are raised highways that run around the city in a circle, connected by smaller raised systems that run along the divisions between sectors.

The main idea was, that as the city grew, the sectors would simply build outwards within the imaginary projected "pie slice lines" of their divisions. When it became necessary, a third circular highway could be constructed, or sections of it at a time if required, and thus onward until infinity.

As the GIM unit happily pedaled away at his gyrocopter and scanned the two major highways for any sign of distress, a dull clunk and the sudden addition of a very heavy weight to his craft makes the gyrocopter dip several feet before the GIM unit returns to the altitude he was at before by pedaling frantically. Looking over the edge of his gyrocopter, the GIM suddenly reels at seeing a huge grin in his field of vision, not realizing that he still was zoomed out all the way.

GIM-0410: Gah! @.@

His lone blue eye widening, his telescopic eye compresses several inches, and he blinks - a slender, red-and-white robot, with spiked, fire-red hair and a black visor circling over his eyes was waving at him, with one hand holding one of the gyrocopter's landing wheels.

SMITHY: Hey. Don't mind me.

The GIM continued to pedal faster, incrementally losing small bits of altitude to Smithy's weight. Large, cartoonish beads of perspiration were flying off of the reploid. The only way the scene could be more complete would be if a tiny windshield wiper descended from inside the GIM's cap to squeegee away the condensation forming on it's main lens.

GIM-0410: But, but...! Y-you're too heavy...!

Smithy completely ignored him, holding his left palm to his ear, now hanging onto the gyrocopter's undercarriage as if it were nothing. In the far distance, a plume of smoke began to rise amidst several office high-rises.

---

The original M-Tek Building was a eighty-floor behemoth of a skyscraper that was constantly under remodeling, redevelopment, and renovation. The entire contents of floors were displaced on a regular basis to make way for new research projects or developments. Approximately half of the first ten floors was completely rebuilt from the ground up to make room for the first Melvin Robo prototype - almost a year before the first underground mecha hangar underneath the building would be constructed.

The M-Tek Building's second incarnation was far more well-planned out. Three skyscrapers house the majority of Japan's government, one of the world's leading research companies, large-scale robotics production and maintenance facilities, and underground, a sprawling complex that provides the storage and care for the world's most powerful giant robots. The three buildings are arranged in a hemisphere around the north end of a gigantic reflecting pool that stretches almost a quarter mile.

Building A, a fifty-story building sitting to the west of the north end of the reflecting pool, is the shortest of the three, and houses the robotics development, production, and repair facilities. The inhabitants of this building maintain every aspect of the nearly three hundred thousand GIM civil service units active in the city at any given time - a good amount performing those processes themselves! Building C sits opposite from Building A. A sixty-five story tall building, it sits just below Building B in height. Building C houses the corporate research facilities of M-Tek, developing everything from weapons, to super robots, to... blenders. (M-Tek was once Gurio Umino's faltering kitchenware company, that produced primarily blenders. Several makes of standing kitchen mixers were produced as well, but the bulky combustion-powered UMS-1P never seemed to catch on with the general Japanese public.)

Building B is the most towering building of all three buildings; IT stands to the north of the reflecting pool, and comes in at a whopping seventy stories. Only seven of these stories are devoted completely to the management and affairs of the city of Tokyo-3. The next eighteen manage the affairs of the rest of Japan in a rather timely, efficient manner. Scores of GIM units have replaced many workers of the civil government, severely reducing the space the government requires to function adequately.

Floor thirty is home to a single giant lobby, home to bank upon bank of computers - and the technicians, communicators, and programmers who accompany them. GIMs and humans alike process scores of information coming in from every part of the world, to adequately dispatch Japan - and the world's - super robots to deal with imminent threats. This sub-organization of the Japanese government is known as the Gutsy Galaxy Guard - usually referenced to as GGG, or 3G, because let's face it, "Gutsy Galaxy Guard" makes you sound stupid when you say it.

From there up, half of the building is devoted to computers, tracking equipment, and everything required to take in and process such amazing amounts of information, as well as to the facilities required to care for the devoted staff who work tirelessly at their jobs. The other half of the building is literally a giant elevator; The elevator "car" is home to a giant briefing room and command center, the Main Order Room. The Main Order Room is capable of traveling to any floor, from floor 30 to floor 67. Computer banks are arranged in concentric rings, forming several hemispheres, around the desk belonging to Mel Umino. It itself is sitting on a smaller elevator which can travel independently of the Main Order Room, and can travel up to floor 70, the private quarters of the President himself and his two compatriots.

As GIMs and cute secretaries in skirts scuttle across the floor of the Main Order Room, a bearded reploid in the blue-and-white uniform of the Japanese SDF, with the classic policeman's cap tilted down over his eyes, leans up against the wooden oak desk, which (curiously) sits empty. One of the communicators nearby him turns in her chair to him, sliding her headset off her ears momentarily.

COMMUNICATOR: Mr. Booster! We have received word back from Mr. Smithy.

BOOSTER: Go on. Position?

COMMUNICATOR: Sector 4, Y-12, X-34, Z... Uhm...

BOOSTER: What?

COMMUNICATOR: Z-value... 240. ._.

BOOSTER: That would be him. Patch me through, get him up on screen one!

Smithy's smiling grin appears on the middle of the three screens lining the wall of the Main Order Room opposite from the desk. The left map opens to show a three-dimensional map of Tokyo, tilted slightly to show the presence of various buildings. A red dot hovers in the air above the city. Numerous, smaller white dots litter the map.

SMITHY: Hay you! :D I'm hot on the good Doctor's trail. He's turning some heads in sector eight! Any word on what he's piloting?

BOOSTER: Some eyewitness accounts have given us a general description of a green, cylindrical, mono-eye robot with eight arms positioned at various points around it's waist. We're thinking it's a construction robot, upgraded with stolen military weapons. It's most likely running around on tank treads.

SMITHY: Permission to engage?

BOOSTER: You'd better believe it.

SMITHY: Alright! I'll send for my kit.

The screen fizzles - and then blanks out. Booster immediately begins to swivel in place, pointing and giving orders, in a rapid, efficent way - that somehow manages to not evoke the stereotypical barking of orders.

BOOSTER: Number 1565 - Please start the arrangements to have Smithy's kit delivered to him. Kitsurubami - I need a refill on my coffee.

---

This was the beginning of what seemed to be an ordinary day in Tokyo-3 - But all those involved would never had predicted that this would be the beginning of the end of our universe.

Five years and one month ago, I joined the original Acmlm's Board at acmlm.overclocked.org.

Yeah.

Let's see. I was starting the seventh grade then. That means I've...

-- Attended four different schools.
-- Made 10,000+ posts. (Uh... Mostly before the past year and a half. lulz)
-- Saved, like... 40 gigs of hentai. I'm not even going to bother counting anything I've deleted, for whatever reason.
-- Played on 4 different MMORPG's.
-- For the most part, gotten over my fear of vents.
-- Cosplayed as Master Shake.
-- Cosplayed as Viewtiful Joe.
-- Started shaving.
-- Got teh DIABEETUS.
-- Dropped to 180 pounds!

I'm just thinking up whatever stuff I can, I never keep track of my shit. So here's to another five years! Some things I'd like to do before the next five years are up:

-- Finish an actual SF story. I think the only story we've ever finished, ever, EVAR, was the Dani Strikes trilogy.
-- I mean it.
-- Dammit.
-- I'd like to make a habit of updating my blog, my site, and doing my Brain Age! I can never manage to make a habit out of those.
-- You know how they say, "21 days to a habit"? I usually make it to... day five.
-- Various cosplays I'd like to do: Soldat J, Decker, Grendizer with two Yaoi/Yuri paddles glued together to form the Double Harken, Captain Hans Gunsche, Uruhara Kisuke.

That's pretty much it.

ITT: Party Hard animations

ADDENDUM: And I'll make a new layout WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT D:

Unknown to most of mankind, over twenty-five million pieces of space debris are caught by the Earth's orbit and are pulled down into it's atmosphere every day. An overwhelming majority of these burn to nothing in the atmosphere, and settle to the ground as dust; A minority of these objects reach any kind of noticeable mass. One can see the cause for alarm, then, when a meteorite about the size of a small coffee table appeared in the skies above Europe one spring day nearly six months ago to date.

It traveled at a low angle halfway around the globe at seventeen thousand miles an hour, before dropping steeply and breaking up over the American Midwest. Five large pieces were tracked, and all were recovered, each in varying locales - One embedded itself in a polar icecap. One sank to the bottom of a coastal reef. One fell into a jungle, another was flung into a desert, and the fifth touched down in a grassy European field.

All five of these meteorite fragments, all a uniform diamond shape, black in color and completely smooth in texture, had the tendency to emit a blue glow and were brimming with mysterious, unknown energy. For research purposes, these five fragments - the Q-Parts, as they came to be known - were sent to five research centers around the globe; The CERN Central Research Laboratory in Switzerland; the GGG Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida; M-Tek Building C in Tokyo, Japan; the GGG Orbital Base, basking in the relative safety of Lagrange Point 1; and for whatever reason, the final piece was sent to Neo Grape Gardens to be researched by the eccentric, otherworldly scientist known as Gooey.

---

Holding a steaming mug of dark, caffeinated beverage in his hand, the authoritative policeman at the head of the Main Order Room pointed boldly; Not really to anything in particular, as he was pointing at the center wall display, which wasn't showing anything of importance at the moment. A small panel in the floor opened up at Booster's feet, and a square column elevated out of the floor, a glass panel sitting on top with a large red button inside. Booster set his mug down on a coaster on the desk behind him.

BOOSTER: Gustav Cannon!

He shifted one leg back, and clenched a fist at his side... then wheeled around, and brought the bottom of his fist down HARD on the button, shattering the glass into a shower of sparkles.

BOOSTER: Operation approved!

---

Outside, the massive reflecting pool in front of the three towering buildings began to drain out. As the pool emptied with amazing speed, the floor underneath it split in two, sliding aside into the ground. A stubby cannon, pointed backwards into the air, with a seemingly tiny barrel, slowly rose into view on a giant elevator that took up the entire length of the reflecting pool.

A loud thud shook the area as the entire cannon tipped forward, slamming into position with a thud. The force of the impact shifted it's barrel forward, and four sections of turret each slid out of the cannon's barrel in part, each connecting it's end with the front of the last, resulting in a massive piece of artillery dwarfing even the Paris Gun and Dora railway guns.

Inside the very turret of this Japanese-built penisgun, a large, white metallic ring with a blue stripe running through the middle of the outside edge, with yellow "POLICE" lettering emblazoned every so often feet, was moving upwards on a loading elevator into the back of the turret. Several GIMs escorted it in, double and triple-checked to ensure it was in place.. then hastily exited through several maintenance hatches.

---

SMITHY: Well, I guess that's it for now. Be seeing you!

Swinging his legs back, then forward, Smithy threw his weight forward, spinning the gyrocopter around, with him still hanging onto the bottom. He went upside down, then right-side up, then let go just as he was going up, sending himself flying into the air, in the immediate direction of the plume of smoke in the distance. The gyrocopter was sent spinning off into the sky.

GIM-0410: Noooooo!

---

Two of the Main Order Room's displays were filled with Gustav Cannon firing data; One screen had the three-dimension map of Tokyo from before. A red dot was illuminated brightly, along with a projected trajectory. A white line led from the M-Tek reflecting pool, moving out and curving to the right to meet with the red dot's path. The other screen showed the first-person view of the cannon, aiming directly into the sky, even with a tiny crosshair in the middle. As the red dot slowly progressed along it's path -- a technician at her station pulled back a fist, and slammed it into a giant red button at the elevated side of her console, causing it to glow a bright blue.

TECHNICIAN: Gustav Cannon -- Emission!

There was no resounding thoom, no giant thud, nothing like that - only the sharp crack of a sonic boom as a red line flew up the Gustav Cannon's barrel, and a white projectile soared out of it, flying into the sky and slowly arcing to the right. Small rocket assemblies mounted on the backside of the ring's exterior were guiding it into position.

As Smithy stopped arcing into the air, and began to fall, he could already see his Equip Ring coming in from a distance, and it was already spinning around wildly. It pulled beside him, then shot directly in front of him. The reploid put both his feet together, and passed directly through the middle, as it slowed to match his speed bit-for-bit.

SMITHY: Equip Mode!

Time seemed to stop - Tokyo-3, and it's crystal blue skies faded away - an obvious sign of a HENSHIN SEEEEEQUENCE!The inside circle of the Equip Ring opened up in sectioned panels, several small maintenance arms appearing as Smithy rattled off a small list of components. As he named each component, the small arms removed the original base component he was using, be it his arm, leg, or armor, then several new arms would install the new component he requested. Each new installation was heralded by plenty of sparks and flames seeping out of the cracks between his exoframe and the component, as well as a hearty shout.

SMITHY: Vernier Armor, Set On! P-Type Left, Set On! S-Type Right, Set On! Vernier Walkers, Set On!

As time seemed to pick up again - the various doors of the Equip Ring closed, and it broke off, slowing down as Smithy sped up. He was now sporting slightly bulked-up armor and legs, sporting many thruster verniers. A "vernier backpack" in the middle of his back had a large main thruster and two smaller verniers pointed diagonally beside it; He had two verniers, one pointing down, one outward and diagonally beside his shoulder joints; His legs had verniers mounted inside the back of his knees and in the base of his feet.

His left arm was absolutely huge, a cylindrical, stovepipe limb with a giant silver piledriver extending out of the back. At it's closed length, it didn't go up past his head. His right arm was oversize as well, extending with a giant, curved (yet polygonal) metal shield attached to it, with the obligatory "POLICE" on it, only in white to match his color scheme. The right hand was oversize as well, with only two large fingers the size of two combined, and a thumb.

---

Several police cars sat in a main road passing through Sector 8, lined up across the street two-deep to form a makeshift blockade. Several human officers, a small platoon of blue-and-white GIMs with police caps instead of baseball caps, and even a one-and-a-half story tall Vehicle Robo with the same color scheme and hat stood behind the blockade, all armed to the teeth.

A giant green cylinder, at least five stories tall, with eight extending arms carrying various classic implements of skyscraper construction were mounted on a rotating track around it's "waist," was slowly hurtling towards them at a steady 20 miles per hour on tank treads. It carelessly mowed right over several cars as it sped towards the barricade.

An important-looking man with a police captain's stripes and an eye patch pointed to the construction robot with one hand, a megaphone in the other.

POLICE CAPTAIN: Doctor Edward Gauss! We demand that you turn over the stolen Q-Parts and abandon your robot peacefully, or we will use force!

Inside the robot's cockpit, a middle-aged man with an angular chin, messy brownish-blond hair, and shimmering square glasses sat in front of several monitors and an amazing amount of levers. In the seat, between his legs, was the glowing black meteorite he was after - the Q-Parts.

A black ring around the upper section of the robot hummed to life, a giant red monoeye lighting up and spinning to face the officers.

GAUSS: Oho! Please! Show me your force! Give me a good excuse to crush you.

POLICE CAPTAIN: You heard him! Show him what happens when you taunt the SDF-

The Vehicle Robo at his side pointed it's giant robot-sized revolver at the construction droid - and was suddenly knocked back a good thirty feet, collapsing backwards to the ground, an oversize rivet planted directly between his eyes. The stunned officers turned back to see the construction robot brandishing a gigantic rivet driver in a mechanical arm - just before Gauss began to spray the area with steel rivets, pinning cars to the ground, putting holes into the pavement, and generally ruining everyone's shit.

When out of the blue, a red blur fell to the pavement at a sharp angle, ripping up pavement as he skidded to a stop, scattering dust and debris into the air and obscuring the doctor's aim. The robot appeared unfazed, and fired off several more rivets - when a purple laser cut through the hazy air, slicing each rivet into harmless halves with surgical precision. The smoke cleared, and Smithy stood in a neutral-aggressive pose, hands at his side, looking straight forward to the robot in front of him - which was already fifty, if not a hundred times his size.

GAUSS: I'm so pleased! It'll be such great publicity for BioNet if we trash one of 3G's robots..

SMITHY: Dr. Gauss! I've come to take the Q-Parts from you, whether you like it or not!

GAUSS: Hohoho! I suppose we'll get straight to the point then, shall we?

The construction droid cocked it's various arms, displaying the array of devices on them - A giant power drill, the rivet gun from before, an oversize arc welder, and a king-size chainsaw, among others.

GAUSS: Come, let's fight!

Loud music begins blaring through the room on unseen speakers -- Orange Range's Shanghai Honey.

The twin double doors of the main elevator slide open, and three men leapt into view. The first, a man with frizzy brown hair and large, shimmering glasses, had his hand outstretched, palm facing outward. The second and third, the former a man with spiked red hair, the second a man with a black goatee and a hat dropped low over his eyes, were standing beside him with their arms crossed. All three are wearing variants of the classic Japanese boy's school uniform, the back of their blue button-up coats modified to drop to around their feet, resembling a trenchcoat's tail.

MEL, SMITHY, AND BOOSTER: OSU!

Cut back to the other five, who all stand stunned at this sudden appearance.

MEL, SMITHY, AND BOOSTER: OSU!

Cuts back to Gutsman, who suddenly has a fist pumped and his eyes aflame, quivering with energy.

MEL: Iku ze! San, ni, ichi, SHUUREN!

Smithy and Booster immediately begin dancing, as a black microphone drops into Mel's hand.

MEL: SHAAAAANGAI HAAAANI-to, hamabe shakou dance! Mitsumebanashi, tamannee megami!

Smithy suddenly grabs him by the arm and starts shaking him.

SMITHY: Mel. Mel. MEL!

MEL: Whaaaat? D:

Smithy points to the roomful of people.

MEL: Oh, shi-

Various office supplies litter the floor around her, and a cup of spilled coffee sits next to her head. Her glasses are askew, and several cowlicks point off in various directions.

She slowly raises her arm, reaching to the sky vainly--

The two stood at opposite ends of a city block, like an "Old West" sherriff and a matching outlaw, both squaring off at high noon.

Smithy shifted to the side slightly, one hip moving closer to Gauss' modified construction robot than the other. He cocked his oversize right arm out, elbow bent, his left pile-driver arm in the same position, but pulled back slightly to rest in front of his chest.

Almost in anticipation, the manually-piloted, monoeye construction robot dry-spun it's drills and buzzed it's saws, like a hot rod sitting at the starting line.

SMITHY: San!

GAUSS: Ni!

SMITHY: Ichi!

SMITHY AND GAUSS: Go!

The armored red reploid and the green, multi-arm construction robot immediately charged at each other. A main circular ring that all the construction robot's numerous slender, extending arms attached to was mounted halfway up it's body, and rotated to allow two arms, both having oversize rivet guns attached, to fold out and fire onto Smithy.

Smithy kept up his charge. At the very first rivet sailed towards him - He snapped his arms shut in front of him. The solid, extra-thick shielded plating on the pile-driver arm's back side, as well as the oversized right arm's shield, deflected the rivets easily. Gauss' eyebrow twitched as Smithy plowed through a barrage of flying metal, emerging only remotely scratched. One of the grappler arms latched onto a car as the robot passed by, crumpling it slightly, and pitched it underhanded directly at Smithy.

Cue slow-motion. Almost frame-by-frame from Metal Gear Solid 2, or that one really awesome Zoids episode that I can't remember the name of, Smithy leaps into the air, then plants a foot on the oncoming car -- and launches himself into the air, the various verniers on his back and legs firing. Sailing into the air, he spreads his arms wide, and pulls his right arm back, moving his waist with it as the pile-driver's back end slides out with a thud--

GAUSS: Shimataaa--

Several arms all rise up, equipped with saws and drills, but each only barely passes by Smithy.

SMITHY: Too slow!

He sends his fist flying forward into the construction robot's domed forehead, creating a giant pothole centered arounnd the spot he touches - and when the piledriver crashes down with an earth-shattering boom, a hole is blasted straight through the droid, more than clear enough to see through. Smithy leaps off and drops to the ground, as the robot tips back -- back -- then forward, stabilizing itself with a discernable rumble.

SMITHY: Gauss! Are you going to come out, or am I coming in after you?

Out of the hole comes Gauss, planting a foot on the edge of it, and holding an arm up to display the black stone, roughly the size of a medium-sized moving box with the thickness of a dictionary. He whistled, as he twirled it around in his palm.

GAUSS: Well! I think if I just gave the Q-Parts back to you, that would spoil all the fun! Only a pack of fools like the M-Tek Corporation, and 3G, and you - especially you, King of Braves! Only you wouldn't know how to use the power that the Q-Parts hold. Maybe I'll even do you a favor and demonstrate!

Sliding back into the hole in his robot's chest, Gauss drops into the cockpit, crossing his legs around the Q-Parts and -- well, pretty much massaging the stone, which begins to glow a bright blue. In moments, that glow spreads to the robot surrounding the two. Pieces of metal debris are drawn like a vacuum to the damaged robot, and not only does it's hole sustained in battle fill, but it begins to bulk up, expanding in both size and height. The treads recombine and shuffle into tarantula-style walker legs, the many extending arms collapsing to fewer arms, but equipped better as well -- with more powerful construction devices, and two actual grappler arms, spaceship-quality. Three stories total are added to the robot's height, making it tower over Smithy even more than before.

SMITHY: Hahaha! Oh, shit.

SMITHY: Whoa! JD! You're... tiny. Awesome.

Smithy raises his oversized right hand and high-fives the "fun size" JDavis Robo.

SMITHY: Okay. Let's show him who's boss!

GAUSS: Using the power of the Q-Parts, this construction robot can make use of twenty-seven different abilities!

The bulked-up construction robot swivels around, it's red mono-eye glowing a bright red, as it settles on Smithy and JDvais Robo. Two of it's grappler arms move forward, the first connecting a long, screwdriver-like bit into the end of a orange cylinder with a large T-shaped handle at the top. Overall, it resembles a king-sized jackhammer.

Plunging the jackhammer into the ground, it begins to shake rapidly with the robot holding it -- and huge cracks suddenly rip into the asphalt underfoot, large patches of ground shifting up and down. Buildings nearby begins to weaken structurally as patches of ground rise, while others sink into the ground, as fire hydrants explode and cars fall through gaping holes into the sewer system underground.

Mel sat with both his feet propped up onto the chair in front of him. His head drooped down onto his chest, drool dribbling onto his shirt. Booster was stroking his beard thoughtfully. Smithy was tilting his head in small increments, almost going completely sideways.

SMITHY: We're not going to be tested on this, are we? <_>

Mel was now up and moving around, and was hastily parsing through the packet of information provided to him. Booster was reading over his shoulder.

MEL: Dude! Seriously. Get your own. ._.

Meanwhile, Smithy was over at another table, partaking of the available refreshments.

SMITHY: Hey! They've got those little cocktail weenies on toothpicks!

Smithy pointed to the newcomer, Snipes, then the the bulked-up construction robot Dr. Gauss was piloting.

SMITHY: If you see a shot -- take it!

As a large slap of concrete cracked underfoot and swung up to point to the sky, Smithy launched into the air, several of his verniers firing.

SMITHY: Equiiiiip Ring!

From over several houses in the distance came the closet-sized white ring, spinning horizontally like a frisbee. It swooped down, and Smithy landed on the very edge, whisked along by the ring as it swiveled into the air. It curved around to fly back towards the group -- as Smithy dropped down into the circular opening.

SMITHY: Equip Mode! G-Type Double, Set On!

Small mechanical arms burst from the inner panels of the Equip Ring, dismantling Smithy's arms, and pulling them away. The new arms retrieved by the device were like his originals, yet slightly buffer in nature.

The main difference, however, was that from the wrist to elbow on each arm, was a large cylinder-shaped piece. The right arm had four thermal vents spaced equally apart running down each side; The left had a series of eight fins placed in a circle around the front side of the cylinder, currently folded flat to lie against it. For those schooled in mecha - These resemble GaoGaiGar/GaoFighGar's arms.

Dropping out of the Equip Ring, Smithy pulled his right arm back to prepare for a punch, shifting his left forward and twisting his hips.

SMITHY: Broken...

The thermal vents on his right arm began to heat up, as his upper arm, cylinder, fist, and all, began to spin rapidly and glow a bright red, until the whole assembly was one large, spinning blur. All his verniers fired simultaneously as they angled themselves, and he flew directly towards the construction robot, barely passing out of reach of several arms and tools.

He spun his hips, forced his right arm forward, his fist coming to inches of the glowing red mono-eye--

SMITHY: Magnum!

The arm assembly rocketed off, separating from Smithy's elbow. It slammed directly into the red monoeye, the entire visor shattering as it burrowed into the robot. Cracks spread through it's armor, and with a mighty crack, the fist exploded out the back, shattering through the plate armor.

At the same time, both arms belonging to the giant jackhammer fell into pieces like a finely-sliced carrot, and the jackhammer simply fell over with a thump.

But the two could barely catch their breath before the robot began to glow a bright blue, and the broken debris, as well as more random scraps of metal from around, were plucked from the ground and flung through midair to the construction robot, who seemed to be repairing-- no, regenerating itself.

JDavis Robo suddenly found itself on the business end of the construction mecha's grappler arm, which lashed out to grab his face, while two more arms, one armed with a circular saw and the other with a power drill, shot towards JDavis Robo's main body for a fatal blow.

GAUSS: You've underestimated me! And that will be the last mistake you'll ever make!

As a giant hole suddenly opened up in the center of the robot's mass, coupled with an explosion on it's backside sending it topping forward, one of it's side arms lashed out at Smithy, sending a giant power drill with a very sharp-looking bit straight at his face.

SMITHY: Protect....

The fins on the cylinder mounted between his wrist and elbow folded out, forming a flat, circular plate circling around his wrist, as he thrusted his hand out to meet the drill bit.

SMITHY: Shade!

An orange glow engulfed the fins and then Smithy's entire hand, expanding to create a giant wall spreading outward from the circular plate that stopped the giant drill cold. He forced his arm forward towards it - and the drill crumpled, the entire arm all the way down to the main joint at the robot's waist buckling and twisting.

The severely damaged construction robot lumbered forward, then toppled over in a smoking wreck, landing at JDavis Robo's feet. Already, however, it was beginning to glow with a pale blue aura, various debris and parts around it quivering and rattling. Smithy, however, was having none of that.

As he dropped to the ground, he thrust his shortened left arm up, the missing portion swiveling around in midair as it came near to lock back onto his elbow, while the fins on his right arm snapped shut.

SMITHY: Hell... and... Heaven!

With a rush of energy, Smithy's left hand began to glow a burning red, while his right emitted a golden aura. Electricity crackled from his left hand to his right and vice-versa as he cocked his knees, seeming to struggle as he brought his open hands together.

SMITHY: Gemu giru, gan gofu go...

Inside his chest, Smithy's Getter Reactor pulsed with energy, the green glow of the device increasing to an even greater emerald color as his hands locked together, fingers weaving between one another.

As the regenerated construction robot managed to push itself upright, it was suddenly overtaken by a blast of green, electromagnetic fog swirling about it, locking it completely in place. Inside, Dr. Gauss pulled and tugged furiously at the controls, eventually leaning up to push at one of the control levers with his feet.

GAUSS: K... kuso! It's completely locked up! Move, you! Do you hear me?! Move!

Smithy's knee and foot verniers ignited, sending him several feet into the air, whereupon all verniers pointed to his backside and sent him flying towards the paralyzed construction robot, his interlocked hands glowing brightly.

SMITHY: VIIIIITAAAAAAAAS!

All Gauss could do was pull frantically at his controls.

GAUSS: Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!

Smithy collided with the robot, his hands slamming directly into the massive construction robot's chest head-on. He stopped short for a moment as the armor plating cracked around his hands -- then his verniers flared up, pushing his combined fist into the robot up to his shoulders, at which point, a burst of intense light seeped out from every crack in the robot, the beams widening to engulf both the entire robot and Smithy.

GAUSS: Oh, fuuuu... !

The robot erupted into a ball of fire, consuming the immediate area around it in a dome of flames.
